Very bad policy!!
Completely against the customer, we called customer service several times for a problem on renting day, The customer service was awful!!! They didn't support us, they gave us worst offer on that day which I paid a complete day-amount again, only for one hour extra which the car owner caused it with his rubbish car, the door lock had problem and the remote control for lockers didn’t work, we called the owner but he didn't answer us on time. Contacting to customer service also wasn't easy and fast. We expected that customer service help us and considers the situation which happened to us, and give back the rest of money due to car's problem.
Very bad experience, I never rent from this awful site again. Getaround doesn't push the car owners to check their car before renting, it causes customer more confused and pays for more hours fee!!!
I have used getaround before with a good experience, but this last time was nothing short of terrible. They added absurd charges to minor damage (a plastic piece was loose and fell off, and I didn't place it back), that added up to more than the cost of the rental.
Customer service was unhelpful, and they did not offer any other alternatives other than to pay what they wanted. The handling of this case showed how easy it is for people to abuse the claims system, leaving the renter to pay for damage that already existed.
I will not be using getaround again, and I recommend you stay away from this company.
This company is the worse company,we have come across,we still have not had our £400 deposit back that apparently was released on the 1st of May,but remember we returned the car on the 26th,they STATED once it was released it was out of their hands,we have had nothing but lies and incompetence from this company DO NOT USE THEM,we are now seeking legal advice,and will be demanding compensation,they charged us twice for petrol,even tho we returned it with the same amount as when we picked it up,the car was not road worthy,we had to travel 50 miles with only 1 break light,we even had to get it repaired ourselves....I will be leaving my girlfriends name as a reference fir getaround ant stating if you have a conscience you will return our deposit ASAP or expect a long case against your company, NAME CAROLINE BOUIN...do the right thing getaround.
