Difficult to get after-sale help!

Update to post: I finally found a human (well, I still actually haven't spoken to anyone at this company, so my communication may have been with AI... I will update if a human actually contacts). They responded, updated me with reasons, and told me the package is on the way. I still have no actual confirmation of this, but hopes abound.

Impossible to get after-sale help!! Ordered a simple part more than 2 weeks ago, was given a tracking number that was fake (a test package number, according to FedEx). Attempted phone, sms, email... No responses. Not impressed.

I understand your concern and I too have growing scepticism with where the world is headed, and fast!

We do not use any AI and do not have any plans to as this does not really suit our business type. Since 2007 our Family business has been to try and help Generator Owners. We love our jobs, Customers need the personal touch and someone who is there for them all the way through the repair, and each Generator needs specialist knowledge from experienced engineers.

In fact, we only have a very simple chat bot on our website to quickly direct customers to info on website ordering, how to find repair advice and how to report any issues. This chatbot works by drawing on a word search of our help documents.

As to tracking your order, we have provided you with a link on our last email. I rather not publish it on Trustpilot as this would allow others to see your info. Please click the link in the email I sent you the other day.

However... Would you like us to give you a phone call? We would love to speak with you. :)

I live in the U.S.A

I live in the U.S.A. I called and e-mailed the United States Distributor of my generator, JD North America , for parts and tech support. After waiting a week with no answer from them . I e-mailed Generator Guru and within two days received a reply with the information needed. Prior to this I had ordered a part from Generator Guru and received it via air mail in about a week. From here on out I will contact Generator Guru right off the bat when dealing with my generator. Thanks Generator Guru.

Generator new buyer

I asked a question to generator guro about what oil I should put in my
A788-GEN-ELC
Electric generator when first starting it to run the engine in and they got back to me lady called Jane was really helpful and replied within minutes five star service and I'm a new customer who didn't realise it's nice to buy them a coffee if you can afford it because it's well worth the price of a cup of coffee as they do there service advice and experience for free. Thanks again to Jane for the help

Great comms over email, fixed within 24 hours.

Great comms over email. Basically fixed the problem remotely by suggesting certain tests and possible causes. From initial contact to suggested remedy was about four hours and the part came the next day. BOOM!
We now have full power back within 24 hours. Who could ask for better? Plus the fridge magnets were awesome.

Technical information

I have a old Ducar DFD6500H generator and I could not find the valve adjustment gap anywhere, I could not even find help her in Quebec (Canada).
I did ordered parts in the past and I saw that I could ask technical information. So I gave it a try and to my surprise they sent me the information that I was looking for. So thank you very much for your help for finding the information. Kudos to you.

I inherited a Honda clone petrol…

I inherited a Honda clone petrol generator from a colleague that I had seen and heard working but, on receiving the generator found it would not start. I did all the usual changes to find the problem but still it would not fire up. I spoke to several 'specialists' who only wanted to take my generator and repair themselves at a cost. I then found generatorguru.com who pointed out where the fault could be. I am now in the process of stripping down the machine to fix the fault. Well worth the time contacting generetorguru.

The only place

Twice now, I've needed a part that nobody in Canada has, and Generator Guru has not only helped me to troubleshoot the problem, but also ensured I was purchasing the correct part. Simple fixes, but this is the only place that would help me. Quick responses, accurate and fast deliveries (to Canada), and personable responses. Thanks for keeping my generator running!

Generator Guru saved the day

Generator Guru saved the day.
I had an off-brand generator purchased from Amazon. The starter mechanism for the generator broke after just a few days of usage. Generator Guru helped me identify the part and purchase a new one. The generator works fine now. Thanks Generator Guru!

If I could give this company a zero I…

If I could give this company a zero I would! This company is a giant scam! They sent my dad an empty box saying it was 6lbs ! And customer service doesn’t exist! It’s AI generated! My dad payed $150 for an empty box that was completely sealed close and they won’t refund him! SCAMMERS!! There is absolutely NO WAY this company has a four star review. DONT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

We have refunded you.

You will note if you look at your payment method you have already had a refund from us in full. Your father will have also got an email confirming the refund from our system.

As to the empty box, both us and our 3rd party insurance (Route.com) had asked for pictures so we could make a claim for the issue and resend your order. Your father has not responded to any of these requests both from us and Route.

We know that it was a full box when we sent as both our system before dispatch, and the couriers system on receipt of the package, confirms this weight. (Proof can be provided if you like.)

I would imagine the heavy flywheel broke the box in transit, fell out, and UPS resealed it. This is common if they cannot see/find the missing items.

Unfortunately, as your Father did not send the pictures of the damaged area of the box, which has been requested a number of times, we have not been able to claim for this with the couriers (UPS) or via the Route 3rd party insurance.

So in all honesty, we are the ones who have lost out. We have now lost a part, and the shipping cost, handling cost, and packaging cost, which we cannot claim for as you have not provided evidence of the packaging. We have also refunded you in full, as instead of providing this evidence so we could send you another flywheel, you claimed with your card company that the transaction was unauthorized. Which obviously is not true or there would be no complaint here.

Seems like we are the ones who have lost out.

Thank you for helping my McCulloch FG5700AK Generator

Thank you for helping me repair my FG5700AK McCulloch Generator. The conversation (via email) about my kickback issue was on target!

My Rocker Pivot Bolt had backed out causing the connecting rod to get partially sheared. I’m very grateful.

(Previously I had ordered some routine maintenance items and they were good fits. )

Btw, I am big YouTube Fan of James Condon videos on Generators and he mentioned your service on multiple videos.

Thanks for including specs on valves. Could I suggest adding the torque settings?
