Sellers beware!!

I decided to sell an iPhone 8 which I categorised as "poor". I was offered £46. On receipt of the phone, I was informed of various issues and it was re-categorised, "falling under the Faulty condition category - New faulty price given". The "faulty" price offered was £4.60. Yet their website shows £30.60 for a "faulty" iPhone 8. No idea how they reached £4.60. No transparency at all in their pricing for sellers. Extremely disappointing.

AVOID!!!

AVOID!!!! Don't answer the phone, emails are copied and pasted, can't tell me why they don't have my phone after a month of waiting for the money or the phone to be sent back! What sort of business is this? A local prison would have better customer service than this place.
Either they have your phone and running a con business and taking people's money or they just don't know how to run a business. I did this for an easy quick, hassle-free way to sell my phone. HOW WRONG WAS I

I wish I’d read these reviews before…

I wish I’d read these reviews before sending my phone into Gecko. No response so chased them, they suggested phone could be limbo as maybe I’d not attached the right paperwork, sent them the proof of arrival data and several additional emails, still no reply. I agree with the other reviewers - awful experience so far, has anyone had a good experience with this company?

If I could rate this company zero I…

If I could rate this company zero I would. Do not use them. I sent my phone to them on the 20 August, I chased them after one month and they responded with some instructions which I followed and confirmed. I have chased several times since then and they do not respond to emails. Gecko, you have my mobile phone which you valued at over £90, either return it to me or pay me!

I will never use this company again

I will never use this company again. They initially offered £102 for my iPhone however offer was revised to £54 as allegedly it was scratched and not in good condition. This was not correct as it had always been kept in a case with a screen protector.

DO NOT USE EVER

So angry…. How is this company still allowed to operate…..? As all other reviews state offered a higher price and then paid much much lower £144 difference to be precise….. they claim they tried to contact me offering me the new amount but they DID NOT…. I have many many pictures and the phone was pre tested before sending to them and was absolutely perfect condition. I will be following this up further and I have demanded my phone be sent back and they can have there crappy offer back. Please please do not use this company you will be scammed

Poor experience

Poor experience. Do not recommend. Had to chase them for a reply, and to track down my phone. Their offer went from £41.50 down to £10.50, despite my phone being in blemish-free condition and in good working order. I asked for my phone to be returned (it came back with a sticker on, which left glue all over the back of the phone). I donated the cleaned up phone to ‘Community Calling’ with O2 via the hubbub org website, who redistribute tech to those who don’t have access to the internet. This is a much better option and I’d rather help someone than line the pockets of Gecko Mobile. Details on the recycling/donation scheme can be found on the Money Saving Expert site.

Same as the other reviews .

Same as the other reviews .. packed up my device (iPad pro)for their tests. The original offer was £225 revised to £6.95 because they claim it had a damaged screen .. I have pics as I packed it to prove this is not the case .. there wasn’t a mark on it .. I have requested it back but the auto response says I need to contact them directly which is proving impossible. What am I to do ? Will I have to drive over to collect it ? It’s taken days to get to this point due to being busy, not working weekends and bank holidays.. I wish I had looked at the reviews before I sent it off

AVOID Gecko

Had my phone tested, before sending to gecko as I had heard that on line companies make up faults.

Before sending phone,my offer was £291.50.

After they received it and "tested" it,their revised offer was £4.45.
Yep I said £4.45

Total rip off company.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Throw your phone in the bin, rather than send to Gecko is my advice

These guys are absolute jokers

These guys are absolute jokers. I sent my phone in after having a value of £221.50. They received it and said the phone was too scratched and adjusted my offer to £94. I have had my phone 2 years and it has the sort of tiny blemishes you would expect, but was in excellent condition. After reading the reviews about the company sending the devices back I felt that I had to accept the offer. Just do yourselves a favour and sell through any other company, these guys are absolute cowboys.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

I've only given them 1 as It wouldn't let me choose Zero. Should have read the reviews before I used them. Was quoted £291 for a good condition phone and I sent it to them in good faith along with it's original box and charging cable. They then said, after reviewing, that they'll give me £140, which i refused. It's now arrived back with me with a scratch which wasn't there and not in it's original box and no lead. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

They don't return your property

I sent off my iPad and was advised it needed a new battery the offer went from £127 to £4 fair enough - I asked for it to be returned. I sent the iPad in the original box with charger, etc., but received only the iPad back! So I ended up with less than when I started as they should have returned exactly what I sent - apparently it's clear in the Ts&Cs which they don't send you. AVOID

Absolute swindlers

Absolute swindlers. Returned a faulty iPhone a month after purchase and they claimed the camera glass was broken so the warranty was invalid. The phone was definitely not dropped by me. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!

Really poor

Really poor. I sent an iPhone in excellent condition (I even took photographs before I sent it as I think they've scammed me before) and they reduced it to poor condition due to a 'scratch on the screen' that was never there. I've asked for it to be returned and I'll go to a more honest provider.

Meh. At your own risk.

Most phone recyclers advertise their criteria for what qualifies as “good” condition. Part of said condition is battery health which is classed as good if over 80%. Sent them an iPhone 7plus which at a battery health of 82% for a 4 year old phone with no cracks or dents is really good. Apparently this didn’t qualify as “good” so they revised my quote down by over 50% of the original offer. Offered £80 at first which was reduced to £30. Have declined their offer and am waiting on the return of the phone in the same condition it was sent to them in. Jury is out on whether they pull this off. My advice would be to find a recycling company that clearly state ALL of their criteria, take photos of the phone as it was when you sent it etc. Something unsettlingly fishy about these guys.

Do not use this company.

Do not use this company.
I sent an iPhone X that was in perfect condition, after they received it, they claimed it had a large scratch on the screen and offered over£100 less than the original order.
This phone had not a single mark on it when I posted it, sent it, special delivery, at my own expense as they only offered regular delivery. They claimed it wasn’t them that scratched it as they handle the items carefully, it was either scratched accidentally, on purpose or they just said that to lower the price.
AVOID, THESE COWBOYS
