Wow I cant believe this fraudulent site still exists. My partner wanted to unsubscribe and cancel/ delete his profile but it was not possible. Also these scammers took money out of our bank account for no reason. Money was never refunded. Shame on you crooks!

Few "local" matches, lots of bots apparent. Paid $4 for a week membership. I had to call a number to cancel that, the rep repeatedly tried to talk me into other services, I had to tell her 3 times to cancel my paid membership. Then i requested to delete the account which had a special email sent with a code. 1 week later their billing company charges me $15. A call tells me they signed me up to a partner website for 30 days without my consent, after telling them numerous times to end my service and NO extras. A call managed to cancel that but they refused to refund me despite making it clear I did not want or authorize the service. I will have to report the charge to my bank now. Oh and the online profile I requested to delete? It is still there. Scam company that ignores what you tell them to do.
UPDATE- The company refused a refund. They falsely claim that users are choosing to opt-in to other sites and paid services when they register to this site, stating there are check boxes that allow users to decline extra paid services. They accuse users of choosing to pay for extra services. There are NO such check boxes anywhere to be seen, if they exist they are hidden from view. Then ehen congirming further canvellation of future charges gor the service, tried to get me to shree to more premium account services to "make up for the inconvenience" trying to sucker me into more paymentson sites where you gind no actual users. Further scam tactics and lying customer service. I will be ordering a new debit card with a new number do they can not further charge me, have filed a complaint with the FTC and will file with the BBB. I do not care for them stealing $15 and lying about why they did it.
UPDATE 2- The company now claims to have issued a refund with both a customer service rep email and an automated system email stating as such, presumably after I raised the issue in public. It has yet to clear my bank, I will update further on this issue when/if it does.
UPDATE 3- The refund cleared to my bank. It took fighting with them to get it, unfortunately. I will watch carefully for any future attempts to bill me for services that I did not request.
UPDATE 4- Apparently the site whined to Trustpilot who are now insisting I hand over a lot of personal information or they will delete this review. Huh. TP seems to have a bad track record of shady practices so I refuse.

Refund my membership immediately. This is fraud!

This site is a LYING scam.
Immediately after I signed up I received ~20 messages from "hot" guys before I even uploaded a photo or filled out my profile. If you've ever used adam4adam or manhunt, you know that just doesn't happen.
Then after I actually created my profile I browsed guys and found a profile I liked; as soon as I looked at that profile and started typing a message, lo and behold, that very guy sent me a message first...because he is AI.
But I couldn't read his "message" because it was behind a paywall. Even though they advertise 5 "free" messages per day, it is impossible to read any message sent to you by other members without paying. You can't even view full profiles without paying.
Half the profiles are AI, and the other half are just vulnerable men being taken advantage of by the scamming frauds who are behind this sham website.
Unless you're willing to dump 100's of $$$'s into the garbage hands of these lying frauds, this website is useless.
I went to permanently delete my profile from the website and now I have to wait an hour for a limited time deactivation code to be sent to my email. If I don't use the code within the short time window, it expires and I have to wait through the deactivation process again. And of course, through all the deactivation steps, they keep pressuring me to stay, offering me deals and telling me all the fake benefits of using this garbage dump website.
Every other gay dating site lets me read and reply to messages and lets me cancel my account instantly.
The gaystryst representative who responds to people's reviews here is a LIAR. When they say their "aim is to provide a genuine dating experience", they ARE LYING. Their aim is to TAKE YOUR MONEY via FAKE AI profiles that are designed to make you desperate enough to pay, and through FRAUDULENT misleading terms on the payment page that'll cause you to pay ~50 times more than you think you are signing up to pay; fortunately I read the fine print and wouldn't have paid for their bs services anyway because I quickly recognized the scam. The people behind gaystryst need to be charged for fraud, fined, and put in prison. There NEED to be lawsuits against the people behind gaystryst to shut that EVIL website down for good.
Some of the 5-star reviews here just look fake. I can't imagine how anybody would actually find gaystryst useful.

How can one give less than one star? We know how the story goes, offer something for 99p, then swindle £50 with the response "it was in the terms and conditions." Fine. However, once cancelled, they seem to STILL take the money the next month. Authorities have been contacted, but be warned, this website is an out and out scam and I expect them to rectify it for me. I cannot have £50 out of my account every month!!
Please, please be wary with this site, its not real and neither are the profiles upon it.

I have subscribed to a 1 day plan for 0,99€ and then I’ve tried to unsubscribe. But their system doesn’t allow it. They say they’ll send an email with a code to finalise it, but I’ve never received the email, not even in the spam.
The day after I tried to unsubscribe unsuccessfully, for the same reason and Gaystryst charged me 39,99€. I’ve contacted their customer service but nobody has replied and I’m still waiting for my refund. I hope to receive it, and consequently change my review here on trustpilot.

SCAM- FRAUD- SCAM- FRAUD -- BEWARE!!
A free membership allows you to make a profile and see other “profiles”; and that is all.
To have any sort of communication, you need to pay...and pay big! If you decide to pay, read the fine print as the cost escalates exponentially! Also, they don’t use an alias on your CCD statement so your wife is gonna find out!
Don’t even sign up... Im still waiting for the prompt to enter my cancellation code. The site is a swamp full of quicksand; STAY AWAY!

🛑🛑🛑 Total SCAM. Phishing and fake profiles alike. These reviews are 100% accurate. DO NOT EVEN MAKE A FREE ACCOUNT. Stay away! Signed up for a 99 cent for a day plan, and ended up being charged almost $50 in total. I caught this immediately, tried to cancel and asked for a refund within minutes. They refused. 🛑🛑🛑

Do NOT sign up to this site - even for free. You cannot easily cancel. The 99p one day membership is very confusing and within seconds you will find you have apparently signed up for a Premium monthly recurring charge £22.99. Both go straight through. The cancellation just asks you to email in, rather than cancelling. The 24 hour contact number shows as not a real number when you try to ring it.

Absoulte con. Cancelled my account via phone, where they said they have cancelled account and payments. Bank have just called as they have tried to take £44 out of my account.

This site is a total scam!! Before purchasing the membership, my inbox was inundated with messages. I had no profile text or pic, so you know these were fake - probably fake accounts created by the site itself, NOT actual people.
Read the other reviews, 90% will say the same thing. It's 100% a scam. Do not give them money or you will have a hard time cancelling your account!

I signed up to this site and really wanted it to work, having bad experience from other sites. After browsing for about a week, I had a data breach on another account and needed to change my password. This simple request made me end up in an endless email loop with someone at the G support. The password renewal function does not work, is unresponsive, and after 6 attempts with different names I still cant get back into the site and my profile. Every email contact I have made with support sends me another email response saying they have already sent me the link to pw change, but as that feature does not work I am stuck in a catch 22. Really disappointing.

I must congratulate you on the way you got me to sign-up for your service. I got a dozen messages that seemed legitimate, but to read them, I had to pay. After signing up for a trial period I was charged for a month, my bad I did not read the fine print! I was able to cancel the recurring charges after talking to an agent who was courteous, but a bit patronizing. In addition, when you navigate gaystryst, you are landing on other sites that operate similarly. I was charged for Buddygays, but got a refund when I contacted them via email. I also had the unpleasant surprise to see that my profile had been duplicated on this unwanted site.
Since I signed-up I got a few uninteresting messages (2 in two weeks, remember, I got a dozen in 10 minutes, when I first filled out my profile, and before paying!, and no response to the few messages I sent to members whose profile interested me). I do get daily invites from sexy performers, but this does not interest me. This site has not met my expectations and I consider your promotional methods misleading.

So, the website is apparently linked to other websites? Kinda makes no sense unless all of the other websites are owned by the same people, which I can see that they are. Suppose that you read the terms and services and stuff about making a membership on the website. You'd want to cancel the membership when you receive a text from your bank about a fraud transaction. I don't understand why every time I call about a fraud transaction, they always say "I" agreed to a membership for a completely different site that I barely even use. Then they ask "why do you want to cancel the membership" and of course you either have two options to say, you either aren't getting any matches, or you just don't use the website anymore. So tell me why they still persist you on using the website by saying oh you haven't completed your profile which will help you get noticed faster when I don't want the account. The whole point of me calling was to get rid of the account so I won't have to worry about anymore transaction, but it seems to me like when you cancel one account, it goes right to another account that charges you without you even knowing like, what? I never agreed to add a membership to this account, and the emails that confirms the cancellation of the account doesn't explain anything. When I look at it all I see is email confirmation telling me that the membership was cancelled. Okay! Yay, what do I do now? I can't click anything on the email, it's literally just that. Not once did I ever get asked about adding the membership onto another account, and yet that's always the excuse. "It seems like while you were cancelling this account, you agreed to make a membership for this account" well excuse me I didn't agree to anything. At this point I want to cancel all my memberships and just be done with it, if only I knew what the accounts are all for.

Meeting gays in the area isn't my problem anymore, thanks to the location filter on the site.
Lies Lies Lies, they promised they would cancel the monthly charge but my credit card company just contacted me having declined a transaction from them. They are not getting anything from me if I can help it. Total scam I signed up for one day at 99p and they set up a repeat card payment for £48 per month. Most of profiles are robots. After seeing their reply I stand by what I said. I did not sign up for a monthly subsciption I signed up for ONE day (24 hours only) the information about repeat billing is hidden in the detail if its there at all and not OBVIOUS as by law it should be. I did phone and was told the repeat bill would be cancelled and not collected, I wait to see if this is true. As for the profiles how come many of them have very similar wording and none of them ever reply.
