As I am unable to respond to their response on my original review, where they responded that 'It wasn't us', well, I just wanted to say IT WAS.

What I find even more frustrating is that they have 16 negative 1* feedbacks and only 5 positive, yet on trustpilot they are showing as 4*. Make it make sense.

I just want you all to read the reviews and their responses, as a decent business would not call you an idiot or deeer, it says a lot about them and only confirms the validity of bad reviews.

Gary McGowan did an excellent job in getting our heating up and on and his advice was very helpful.

Imran did a gas and electric cert in Romford and fixed a new consumer unit. Work was carried out quickly and certs sent same day as payment.

I rang E to confirm the dates when the warm home discount is due and I spoke to a lovely guy named
Umar and he was lovely.
He made me feel so at ease with his bubbly personality and he explained everything to me. Umar gave me the next steps and made me so happy .
He truly is a credit to this company and I hope from this review he gets the acknowledgment he deserves within E.

Awful company. Do not use. Booked in 2 appointments and never turned up to either of them. Not good enough when you are sat in all day waiting for them.

I’d even told them it was an emergency appointment because we’ve had no hot water for weeks

It's a Joke! Had Templeton LPA LPA Receivership Solutions (another joke company) send Gas/Elec round to check boiler and other things on the 1st Sep ‘2022.

Why when I looked at the carbon monoxide alarm last mth, I saw that it was out of date 🤔 yet this wasn't spotted.

How the hell can you be a good company knowing the dangers of this and not do your checks properly! Shameful

Unfortunately had numerous problems with this company the landlord uses,

Done 3 years of passing then failed on a pipe that somehow passed 3 times, had to sign a form to keep the boiler running.

Recently missed appointments being changed left right and centre not being funny cannot expect people to wait a full day sat at home & they charged a fee if I was to do the same.

Boiler booked in for a service and gas safety check to be told they don't carry the part when this is the job they've come to do 🤷🏻‍♂️. So they have cancelled the service and now request in the landlord to rebook.

I personally wouldn't be booking with these more hassle than it's worth

I have used them for years but they capped gas boiler saying it was not safe. My engineer said it was and switched it back on ( after I bought 3 electric heaters). I then immediately used another firm who certified it was safe after taking correct readings.

Took forever too book, no one wanted to take the call and was hung up before taking call twice, not helpful at all and taking forever to give me an answer on the job taken place which I've been told has an issue. won't give contractors number for me to chase knowing I have tenants due to move in. Definitely would not recommend an

Dishonest disgraceful rip off merchants , make up work and charge you to come back for made up work with ridiculous reasons !!!

Awful company, similar experience to other reviewers. I found them incompetent, not willing to follow Covid guidelines and cannot strongly enough emphasise to avoid these cowboys at all costs.
Update on 18 Feb 2025: their rude reply to my review (randomly 4.5 years later), says it all about their attitude and general levels of respect.

Please try to avoid using this company (gas-elec group) at all cost! We are terribly alarmed by their lack of integrity in a lockdown environment.

This review is for the company Gas-Elec.
If I could give zero stars I would.
This company was appointed by our letting agency to carry out a EICR and the subsequent work.
First of all they told us the whole house needed rewiring- when we challenged this they changed it to be only five remedial which needed doing, the largest of these was to replace the consumer unit, which was plastic, for a metal one.
For these five items they quoted £1000. When a different engineer came to do the work, one item was completed (correction of borrowed neutrals) via a much cheaper method (they told us this in writing) and one item was not done at all as it was now deemed unnecessary (the new engineer called the office and told them ‘I can’t see anything wrong with it’).
They still charged £1000+vat
We were never sent an itemised invoice- now when we’ve queried it they say it was all covered in the original quote- we never had an itemised quote even though we asked for one.
In effect they have charged us £1200 to replace a consumer unit box, a new piece of cable for a pendant light and for doing some supplementary bonding for an RCD. This company are rip- off agents. Do not use them

Our rental agencies preferred contractor, we had endless costs relating to faulty smoke alarms, our own contractor found that instead of replacing the mains wired/interlinked smoke alarms with new ones (they expired in 2012), they put cheap battery operated ones next to the mains wired units which constantly require maintenance. We have had their EICR report quoting 900 pounds essential work, redone, but this work is still in progress.

Very disappointed with their service. The qoute for 3 very minimal jobs such as change a light fiting was almost £700. I do not recommend this firm to anyone.

The engineer was called for an EICR on a rental. He gave very dubious advice on rewiring to my tenant in what seemed to be a bid to get more work, and without even checking. Given the flat being checked is multiple occupancies and had been checked for rewiring and rewired less than 10 years prior. He also was looking for gas in a non-gas building though told. Additionally, the customer service team was rude, abrupt and slapdash. they tried to bill me for gas on a non-gas building. I'll never recommend this company.

Update in 2025 - And they respond to a bad review 5 yrs later! Go figure with this lot

Poor communication, paid over 400 pound for work that was not completed, took a long time for them to action refund, 10 days after telephone conversation and email confirming refund I still have not received it.
