Most comfortable mattress system i've ever slept on.
Living in the UK i needed to replace my futons and selected Futonwerks combo system approach as the most suitable and best out there in terms of price vs quality.
Ordering was initially a problem where Futonwerks said at the time they only shipped to retailers in the UK, not individual customers. (Something to do with the mess of Brexit boarders) But a small stockist in Sweden called sofabedexpert.com ordered them for me and arranged all the shipping too, which was no problem. (Something to do with the way the Sweds support small business which no other EU country or UK seems capable of doing at this time).
I have to say these are the most comfortable mattresses i've ever slept on. I over-ordered and combined the twin sytem with an extra topper and one other thicker matress. (I've also thrown on a goose feather and down topper to provide luxury).
I cant say i regret my purchase at all, which still came to the same price, even after UK custom charges were applied, as purchasing just 2 of the high quality futons Cambridge Futons make in England.
Futonwerks slimmer futons make managing the matress system a breeze by cutting the weight in two.
I was also able to try out untested layerings like the latex and combine them and alter the combo layer order i sleep on depending on season, need and mood.
That said, I did some prior research which i think is wise, to understand my matress support needs beforehand. (The general rule is that futons reverse the logic applied to sprung mattreses. Sprung matresses support by providing 'give' within the mattress. Futons provide the cushioning in it's top most layers. One you understand this primary difference, you can start to figure out how to compile the matresses you like.)
When the germans put their minds to it, their design can be unbeatable and these futon products seem to me a classic design update which should be widely adopted. I'd initially tried to get 2 of the 3 primary makers of futons left in the UK to custom replicate Futonwerk's approach but they weren't really very accomodating. (Gone are the days when there were dozens of futon makers and futons were the cheap mattress option !)
I'd like to see Futonwerks futon range on sale in the UK and wondered if the company is selling itself a bit short. It's taken me a while to find a review site to praise both their products and soafabedexpert.com in Sweden for their help obtaining these products.
I only hope they'll be around in 10-15 years time because si i can return to replace my futons again!
