We wanted to share our incredible experience with Funecon in Spain. We had the horrible tragedy of losing our 25 year-old-daughter suddenly and unexpectedly while on a trip to Barcelona. Since she was a US citizen, many forms and notifications were required and neither my husband nor I could not speak a word of Spanish. We were connected with Sean Young from Funecon after a search of ChatGPT, and he was a Godsend who took us through the painful process of bringing her home to California. Sean helped us navigate around Barcelona, helping taxi drivers find our destinations, coordinating with the hospitals and cremation services and was with us through every step of the process. Whether we called or texted at 6 a.m. or 10 p.m., Sean was there by our side through the most difficult time in our lives.

Although I'm American, my ancestry is Irish and I've always been in touch with my Irish roots. When I first spoke to Sean and heard his Irish accent, I knew that somehow my mother, now in Heaven, must have had something to do with helping us find him. What I especially appreciated about Sean was his calm, gentle demeanor. At one point I warned Sean that my phone technology skills were not great and to keep his sense of humor handy. His answer warmed my heart. "The Irish never leave that behind, even at our darkest moments. You're not alone". That kindness was typical for him and it made him extra special.

The people in Spain were happy to work with Funecon and Sean was an exceptional coordinator. We were able to finish all the processes in short order and we owe him a debt of gratitude for everything he did for us. I would never wish this experience on anyone but if it does happen, I can attest that Sean and Funecon can bring you through the process as painlessly as possible.
