No, I thought this was a free service since it was through a volunteer organization, however they take 8% of the donations. If this were the case I wouldn’t have asked my family and friends to donate through their platform. I would have just created my own page. Very sneaky.
I asked them for clarification via their contact/support page and have not received a response in 3 days.
I found Fund & Seek a very user-friendly platform - I created my volunteer abroad funding campaign with ease and quickly started raising money. I had a couple of questions along the way and the Fund & Seek team were prompt with their response and extremely helpful. I funded enough money for my trip to Asia and I would definitley crowd-fund again if I had another need to in the future.
I used the platform to raise fund for my trip to Phnom Penh. The platform was easy to use and I got my money as expected. I found it very effective for fundraising - would use it again!
Unacceptable and unreliable! Our cousin has been in a serious accident in Thailand and everybody is sharing and trying to donate but this website has been down for hours! Serious waste of precious time and potential donations to get her the treatment she needs as nobody can make a donation currently. Will be opening up a new page with a more reliable fundraising site!

A friend used Fund and Seek in the summer when he went teaching abroad and he recommended it for my trip.
Starting a campaign was super easy but I found donations quite hard to get until I contacted friends and family directly.
It was easy to make changes during the time when I was fundraising, even when my end date and goal amount changed halfway through.

We invest a lot of time and money into making sure our campaigns raise more than on those on other websites, so we'd like to think we played a part in you reaching your goal.
I'm not sure if your statement about our fees is fair and that not a lot of money you raised went to you.
If you received any less than 92-93% of your donations then I’d be happy to look into this as a technical issue for you. This includes our 5% fee and a standard credit card processing fee which is taken by the bank.
Our fees are the same as the majority of other fundraising websites, and as I mentioned above it allows us to provide the technology we do to help make campaigns like yours successful.
