Lovely family business

A lovely family business always very obliging. John will always ring back when messages are left and is cheerful and helpful with advice when collecting laundry and returning it. We are very happy to recommend them

Over and above service

Over and above service. The zip on my bag couldn't be replaced. The owner, however, went out of his way to help, even putting some ' zip salve' on and giving me some strong cotton and needle to take home. The sort of service that restores your faith. Thank you!

Five star

Fantastic! Took 5 bridesmaids dresses , my dress and husband’s shirt to be steamed . The items looked amazing! Very prompt , reliable service and extremely friendly people. Thank you so much Linda and Pat. Will definitely recommend !

I am very happy with Full Steam Ahead

I am very happy with Full Steam Ahead: excellent washing and dry cleaning services. They take care of my hand made quilts and everytthing comes back in perfect condition.
Always cheerful and flexible and a pleasure to do business with.

Great Service and friendly professional people

I’ve been using Full Steam Ahead Laundry Services since 2020. Throughout that period I have never had anything other than an entirely reliable, friendly yet professional and helpful service. The standard of the ironing is excellent, even with sheets (the bane of my life). Now that my children have left home, I no longer have quite the same needs as before but my rather intermittent requirements are treated exactly the same as a definitive regular service is. I recommend them highly.

I'd definitely recommend Full Steam Ahead. I've been using them for over ten years as they offer such a great laundry service. They're always reliable, helpful and friendly. They're also flexible - for example, they can adapt their washing products to suit allergies.

Great Service

We have been using Full steam Ahead for 10+ years, they have worked well around the current coronavirus situation and their methods put in place are very reassuring. I use FSA for both my personal ironing and for my nursery business and although we previously had the 24 hours service we are more than happy to use the 7 day option at the moment to ensure everything is Covid safe.

A brilliant service from brilliant people

great service and good value for money

We have been using FSA for occasional ironing services for some time now. They have always been friendly and really accommodating with collection and pickup times. E.g. I need to do the school/nursery run at 7:45 so they said they will be here before 7:30 - the driver arrived at 7:25. I also think the prices are very reasonable. FSA currently only operates a 7-day service but if we would wait for me to get around doing the ironing it would probably be even longer.

Great service

Great service. I use these guys on a weekly basis for ironing. The quality is excellent & in the current restrictions they are particularly good. They collect & return, you don’t have to see anyone if you don’t wish & clothing is all covered. Very good.

Not at all happy with this company - Order 6385

Not at all happy with this company. They are a complete contrast to another I use called Busy Homes. Unfortunately the latter closed during lockdown and I had to use Full Steam. Firstly, Full Steam take a week to do the ironing which I didn't realise until they came to pick it up. BH deliver it back in 24 hrs. Next BH are at all times super friendly and professional. I just leave it for them outside & they drop it off by the door if it isn't raining & send an invoice. They always text in advance, e.g., 'will pick up at 9am', etc. Been like that for over a year - smooth, easy. Full Steam however rap loudly on the door, the delivery driver is arrogant & rude. I work nights so don't get to bed until early hours of the morning. He turned up at 8.45am without notice, knocked so loudly on the door that my dogs went crazy and insisted I do a bank transfer there & then in my night clothes. I'm happy to pay in advance but I'd like polite and professional notice of when they are going to arrive, as would anyone. It took me 10 mins to log on to banking, add them and pay whilst he stood there. I then told him that I would like to know when he was going to drop off if he needs me to do any admin as I work nights. Instead of 'OK, no problem.' or 'Understood, thanks for letting us know', he barked 'YOU'VE HAD ALL WEEK TO PAY THIS!!'. Seriously? The invoice doesn't even say payment in advance. What if you're in the shower? What if you're on a conference call? So, if you want to wait a week for your ironing, have them show up at your door without any notice whatsoever (even if you're on the phone or loo I'm guessing), if you'd like someone to bang rudely on your door & expect you to stand there in your nightclothes and do your accounts whilst being admonished and judged by the delivery guy, then you're in luck, this company is perfect for you. I like a nice life, however, so I'm going back to BH as soon as I can.
And their reply below is entirely unsatisfactory. It doesn't explain the rudeness or the lack of communication or warning. For any collection or delivery service, be it a supermarket, laundry or food, an advance text is free, easy and professional. Not only that but it is 100% the case and you are the only company I have ever dealt with who do not do this. It is unacceptable. Lockdown and COVID do not preclude texting, indeed, it is recommended, especially if you are visiting vulnerable people. I would have thought you would absolutely be required to let them know in advance. Whatsmore, people skills are also free and again, are not excused by lockdown. I would think a serious review of your corporate ethics and people skills is required.

Hi, We're very sorry you feel this way.
Unfortunately due to covid and having elderly vulnerable clients we are running on a 7day service currently to be able to leave items long enough before touching so not to pass on any nastys. This has been put in place to avoid us having to close altogether like your previous service mentioned above.

Our service is always discussed in the initial phone call as it was in yours where we explained we are only running the 7 day serivce at the moment. We also explain that collection and delivery are within the same time slot. We dropped back this week the same time as we collected the week before and so John our driver was suprised to find your delivery was inconvenient for you as it was not mentioned that you were going to up late or that you'd like a later slot. We always do our best to accommodate where special requirements are needed and are also happy to drop to a safe place with no contact necessary. (However payment would need to have been left out or made before delivery commences) As this was not requested, we delivered as previously agreed.

Again payment details were made clear during your initial phone call. Cash or cheque on delivery or bank transfers must be made before drop off. Unfortunately our drivers can not deliver without payment as I'm sure you can understand.
I understand you were upset to make your bank payment at the door and told our driver so, to which he explained payments can be made any day during the 7 days and does not need to be done on delivery. I sincerely apologise if you felt him explaining this was his way of judging you, I can assure you that would not have been his intention, or thought process.
It seems we do run a little differently to your usual service which is where I feel the confusion has come from. It can be misleading when you're used to another service arriving at a different time of day or with bank payments not being required before delivery. For regular weekly customers we do offer a monthly billing service whereby they are billed at the end of the month. Unfortunately we do not offer this for ad-hoc collections. We can absolutely text before arrival for customers on request but do not make this standard practice unless requested as it is rarely required.

Many thanks for giving us a try and I do hope you find a more suitable service for your needs.
