Please don’t use Friendly Movers!

We have booked Friendly Movers for packing and moving service. Dylan - came and thoroughly inspected the house and gave us a quote. We agreed to two packing days and removal on 23rd April.
They packed 1/3 of our belongings. I packed whatever I could on the night prior to the move. We were downsizing from a 6 bedroom to a 4 bedroom house 5min away in Streatham Hill.
Whatever was packed was done without much care or proper marking. They have not used any bubble wrap(!). On 23rd they arrived and moved about 1/2 of our belongings to the new house. Lots of damage has occurred-broken glazed cabinets, damaged dinner table, broken picture frames and lots of broken glasses. They told us that lots of our furniture wouldn’t fit upstairs so left most of it downstairs. Later on another moving specialists were able to move the remaining furniture upstairs after all.
The bedding was thrown on the floor and parts of furniture were missing - bed legs and some cabinets handles.
We payed the deposit prior to the packing/moving day and agreed to pay the remaining amount after completion of the move but instead Dylan insisted that we pay in full around 4pm.
At about 6pm it became obvious that they weren’t able to move the rest of our belongings including piano (Dylan has reassured us that they were qualified to move pianos), wood burning stoves and other large objects.
At this stage Dylan demanded even more money and said that they will need to finish the following day. The following day our buyers were moving in and expected the house to be vacated. Out of desperation we agreed and we said we will pay more on the arrival of the van and Dylan’s team following morning at 7am but they did not show up.
We ended up getting another company to move the rest of our furniture and spend another fortune on organising and disposing of waste and unwanted items.
The whole experience left us feeling incredibly stressed and upset.
The saddest thing is that lots of valuable things are missing and as I was unpacking I realised how many items were broken.
I have lots of pictures to show the level of disrespect and lack of care and we are going to take this matter to court and seek some compensation but most importantly we don’t want anyone else to experience this level of stress, disrespect and abuse.

Best moving experience I had today

Best moving experience I had today, Danny and his team moved us today from Banstead to central London. We moved from a 3 bedroom flat and we used thier packing option too we had quoted from 3 different companies and friendly movers came the cheapest. Would highly recommended to anyone moving.

They left me with all the stuff outside!

They left me with all the stuff on the road! Why? Because he’s only the driver ce cannot help with boxes/sofa etc! Hence I’ve told them through email what i have, I’ve asked for on person only as I will help as well! I’ve carried all boxes downstairs to help and speed up the process, when the man came he kind of giving it to me like “well, people when they moving they have couple of boxes” I could see that he’s lazy and he doesn’t want to do the job!
I had to book someone else, luckily I’ve managed to fine a proper removal company!
DO NOT USE Friendly-Movers!

Brilliant service

Today we used them the third time. The service is exceptional. We needed a very fast service this time and they delivered!! Came out for us on a Saturday afternoon. All three times we used them, they came on time and worked swiftly. Dylan is coordinating and overseeing all. The price is very reasonably, too.
What can you expect?: Two hardworking, super friendly men with an old small Asda van and a brilliant service! We definitely will use them again, when needed.

Friendly Mover – An Unfriendly Disaster!

Our experience with Friendly Mover was an absolute disaster, and Dylan, who was our main contact, has been utterly unhelpful in resolving the issues.

1. Wrong Moving Date: The movers arrived on the wrong day, completely throwing our plans into chaos. It’s astonishing that a moving company can’t manage to schedule correctly!

2. Inadequate Staffing and Overcharging: Despite requesting three movers, they sent four and charged us for the additional person. It was a clear attempt to overcharge us.

3. Appalling Communication: Communication with Dylan and the team was a nightmare. They failed to disclose important details, such as their insurance not covering items packed by us. This lack of transparency is incredibly unprofessional.

4. Extensive Property Damage: The movers scratched several walls, damaged our dining marble table and desk marble top, and lost parts of our furniture, including a sofa leg and part of a cabinet leg. Their handling was careless, resulting in significant damage.

5. Misogynistic Behavior: The movers’ conduct was appalling. They only addressed my husband throughout the entire process, speaking to him as if I wasn’t even there. It was clear they assumed I wasn’t involved in the decision-making or payment, which was very insulting.

6. Refusal to Take Responsibility: Despite our meticulous packing, Dylan and Friendly Mover have refused to accept any responsibility for the damage caused by their movers. Their dismissive attitude and lack of accountability have been shocking.

7. Missing Invoice: Even after full payment, we still haven't received the final invoice that was promised. Yet another sign of their disorganization and disregard for customer service.

We have requested a full refund for the poorly executed move and 50% compensation for the estimated repair costs. As we have received no proper response, we have no choice but to take Friendly Mover to court.

If you value respect, professionalism, and your possessions, do not hire this company. We are taking legal action and strongly advise others to avoid making the same mistake.

Danny was a dream from start to finish, could not have been more helpful or amenable. I nearly cried with joy when I saw how big the van was!
