My wife has difficulties climbing…
My wife has difficulties climbing stairs due to hips and other ailments and requested the council for a stair lift as we are council tenants, which they did and asked a company called freewaylifts. Right from the beginning, the stairlift was not working and engineers came and fixed it and for a week or two that same problem recurged again and again. They found mistakes and errors in the installed chair computer system. Sometimes there was a wrong code computer error and showed the battery was completely drained or dead despite being constantly on charge either battery goes to two bars and sometimes no power. We are accused of turning the power off and, in October 2025, suddenly, a chair was making various noises and showing no power signs. And I had turned off the power, and my wife reported it to the company on Friday morning and was told the engineer would be there in the afternoon, but no one turned up, and my wife had to go to a hospital appointment and my wife asked about the engineer, and he had a breakdown and wouldn't be there until after 4 PM, and we asked them to rebook the appointment for monday morning. Which they did, and the engineer turned up at noon. Three weeks later we received the invoice for service and the replaceable battery. They have the aducity to ask my wife to pay £207.90 pence for what? Which she doesn't have. She is a retired disabled person. My opinion is the company's fault for not putting the correct batteries right from the beginning.
I would advise everyone to think before you choose this company called freewaylifts.co.uk.
