I saw this recommended so I thought I'd give it a whirl. In fact that's all I've seen, a little green dot whirling round while a 'Connecting to VPN...' message appears. And it stays there, for as long as you let it. I left it for 30 mins one time.
As the spinner (new eggtimer) is spinning, one cannot click on anything else - e.g. to try a different location VPN. So all one can do is turn it off. And try again ....with the same result.

Didn't work for me
I wanted a VPN to use in Greece to be able to watch UK television. Mainly BBC and ITV and also Prime Video. So I needed a UK IP address.
I didn't use the free version I bought month.
On trying it at home in UK on all the platforms I was asked to turn off the VPN to allow me to watch.
After going backwards and forwards with the emails to them and them asking me for videos and screenshots etc I decided to just leave it and cut my losses and buy elsewhere.
Which I have done and it works perfectly.
However, they did agree to refund me. Hopefully I will receive it.
So if you are in UK I suggest you maybe don't use Planet VPN. Go elsewhere.

Good VPN, works without any problems

I gave Planet VPN a try recently, and here’s the truth: it’s a pretty decent option if you just want a free VPN for basic use, but it’s not without its flaws.
Simple to use – the app is clean, quick to install, and doesn’t need much setup. Perfect for people who just want to click and connect.
Decent speeds for browsing and torrenting – I tested a few servers and downloads were fine. Not blazing fast like Nord or Express, but definitely usable.
Privacy-wise – they say they don’t keep logs, and the encryption is solid (AES-256). Good enough for everyday security.

I’m really disappointed with this PlanetVPN
I’m really disappointed with this VPN. I’ve used many VPNs before, and I found this one while looking for something faster than the one I currently use. Before purchasing, I asked their support team if they offered a 1–2 day trial version. They told me they didn’t, but said I could buy it and get a refund if I had any issues.
So, I bought and downloaded it, but I could never install it. After the purchase, the app simply wouldn’t open or install at all. When I contacted support, they gave me very generic answers and were not helpful. Two days later, I requested a refund. I checked their refund policy, and my situation clearly qualifies. But despite this, they ignored my request — and all four of my follow-up emails.
I still haven’t received any response. Most likely, they’ll charge my card again next month. I wasn’t even able to use the VPN once.
I absolutely do not recommend this VPN. At this point, I’m even questioning whether they actually have a working product.
