Diego is a fantastic guide who took the time to show us all the interesting parts of Santiago and share facts about the places on the tour. It was a lovely walking tour where I learned a lot about Chile, Santiago, and both recent and pre-Columbian history. He told many stories in a short time and also shared some nuances of Chileans, like how they make jokes and use expressions. It was fun and educational at the same time, and my partner and I highly recommend him.

The tour was interesting, but I have some constructive feedback.
First, I felt that too much time at the beginning was spent explaining the concept of a “free” walking tour. The guide explained that the tour is free because anyone can book it, but this is misleading. According to the booking information, there is no fixed price, and guests are invited to tip their guide according to their satisfaction and budget, with typical tips ranging from €10 to €50. However, the guide insisted that a minimum tip of €15 per person was expected, which was never mentioned during the booking process.
Interestingly, the guide also mentioned that she did not enjoy giving this speech but that it was required by the organisation. I fully agree that guides deserve fair compensation for their work, and I have no problem paying for a good free walking tour. However, presenting a voluntary tip as a minimum requirement is misleading and creates unnecessary pressure. I believe the organisation should ensure that its tipping policy is communicated transparently and consistently with the information provided at the time of booking.
Secondly, for a two-hour tour, I felt we visited relatively few places, and the pace was rather slow. I would have appreciated a more dynamic tour, covering more points of interest within the time available.
Overall, the tour was interesting, but I believe these aspects could be improved to make the experience more transparent, enjoyable and welcoming.
