IMPROVE - PUT A NOTICE ON FRONT COVER OF 4 PAGE MANUAL - THAT A DETAILED MANUAL IS AVAILABLE ON THE TV UNDER SUPPORT ON LINE Subject: Incorrect BBC Regional News Feeds on Freely
I am consistently being shown the wrong BBC regional news feeds on Freely. Despite entering my correct postcode, Freely frequently offers me BBC Channel Islands, BBC Look North, BBC South West and other unrelated regions. I rarely receive BBC London, which is the correct region for my location.
This suggests Freely is not reliably detecting my region and is falling back to incorrect BBC feeds, possibly due to IP mis‑routing or a bug in the regional assignment system.
Please update Freely so that:
The postcode entered by the user is used to lock the correct BBC region.
The app does not default to random BBC regions when IP geolocation is inaccurate.
Users can manually select and save their preferred BBC region (e.g., BBC London).
This issue makes the “local news” feature unreliable and reduces the usefulness of the service. Thank you for reviewing this and considering improvements.

It won't let me scan for channels when set on TV Arial/internet scan shows zero chanels found and yes my antenna works fine on other TVs without freely

Freely is truly awful, we purchased a Hisense tv with freely built is as we have very poor reception where we live. The freely tv is constantly freezing requiring resetting the broadband router and tv to fix it. This only works for a short time them you have to do it all over again. We have bought a freesat box now which work fine, all of the time

Very helpful chat response from Jason . Kind considerate to older generation user !
My problem not resolved but tried everything available ! Wi fi always the problem in a ground floor flat ! Thank you for trying so patiently !

Reply from Freely
Very fast response. However having been advised to reboot we still cannot get onto freely.

Jason was unable to fix the problem - only able to get BBC1 & 2, STV, iPlayer and STV player - all other channels were there on the initial installation but stopped allowing us to access them - couldn't re-instal - email sent to us for tech. support asked far too many in-depth questions - gave up!

Bought a Sharp TV that uses Freely as it's TV facility.
Soon found that I had to log in to various services to watch even things like BBC and ITV which I gather is because it uses my internet despite having an aerial attached. This means it is using my home internet data and bandwidth for watching free tv channels which should be unnecessary.
But then I found the big issue: after a few days I found I was getting errors (ETV303 error code) stopping me from watching even BBC or ITV. I searched online, retuned, did all of the recommended stuff but it still took a few days before my service resumed.
Then this same issue seemed to hit me about every two weeks. It was asking me for my postcode then telling me the local channels weren't available.
Put up with it for a couple of months of these regular issues but enough was enough and I took the TV back for a refund.
Sorry Sharp, I thought the TV was great but spoilt by Freely.

Bought a TV with freely on having a lot of problems with programmes not working, channel freezing, coming up with technical errors. Very frustrating!

Since I used your advice I no longer get any itv channels is there any way I can cancel freely or do I need to buy a new tv

Reply from Freely
Unfortunately the person i talked to did not have the knowledge about the Freely TV,s and could not answer my question

Reply from Freely
ETV303 error code a constant feature on several channels and according to the website the only way to resolve this it to reconfigure the channels which is time consuming and only resolves the issue for the day. Same thing next day but no other solutions from customer services. Was far better off with Freeview.

The interaction and patience in taking me through the various steps to resolve the issue was excellent

Ellie was the person I had a conversation with over issues with Freely on the TV. She was brilliant and tried to help me as much as she could. Unfortunately I gave her incorrect details so things didn't work out well. This wasn't Freelys mistake it was mine. The help I received was first class and it warranted 5*

First line service responsive but did not resolve the issue (no ITV channels receivable). Escalated now to tech support.

Reply from Freely
While response was quick. Real problem with freely is, its whole point is channels with no need for an ariel. But 2 years on a significantly large number of freeview channels are not available on freely without an ariel, like sky news, arts, mix, quest, really, great tv channels, that's tv channels, tlc and so on. There seems to be no urgency in acquiring missing channels or attempting to communicate when their addition will happen.
