The worst customer service I know of
I ordered Freedrum 2 early 2021. I didn't get it shipped until about a year later, and the same day I realized it was totally useless. I returned the product and was promised a refund. Since then they have been ignoring my emails and I haven't received my money back. This company is a scam if you ask me.
Freedrum 2 Latency and Sensor Positions
Received the freedrum 2 version and tried to play. Strong latency, which can be fixed. Then the positioning of the drums is weird, when trying to hit the snare, it hits almost anything else. I know the sensors are fragile and you should learn to position and angle the sticks. But why not make an overlay in the app where I see the position of the sticks and the position where the elements are. (Like it is in the tutorial, you already did that, just not when playing casually) That would make it so much easier to learn how and where to hit.
Overall not that amused with the experience, let's see if it gets better with future updates.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!
Similar to numerous dissatisfied customers, I made a purchase of a kit in December 2021, and it was delivered to me in December 2022. Unfortunately, the kit turned out to be defective. I returned it promptly, but since then, I have not received any updates, messages, or estimated time of arrival for a replacement. Despite reaching out via email, no one has responded to my inquiries. At this point, I am seeking a refund for my purchase.
Bugs aside, there is a lot of fun here.
I was a kickstarter backer and waited a significant time for the product to arrive. Whilst somewhat frustrating i think this is part of the process when developing such a complicated tech product, and as such i had no issues with waiting. When it did arrive the frustration was transformed into excitement and joy!
As a non-drummer i have found the product slightly tricky to get used to. You have to be quite precise in how you hold the sticks and hit them. It is also confusing that you can hit 'anywhere' in the space around you and the drums will still sound - something i hope the developers might address in the future. The tracking occasionally goes awry, but again the user should understand they have to learn how to operate and manipulate the sticks correctly.
After some time getting used to it i have begun to use the online courses and think it is a hugely fun thing to be able to do without a full drumkit in front of me.
Regarding customer service, i have found the company quite speedy in their replies and always offering helpful information to my queries.
I don't feel this is the finished article, and think the developers can definitely go again with future models that improve their tracking software. But bugs aside there is certainly a fun, innovative and creative product here.

Not a sustainable business. A complete spam, no doubt
1% of honesty 99% spam. More than half year ago they offered a 50% discounted year subscription for their freedrum studio. Many have bought the deal. But without the kits. This deal is unless. I asked for a refund months ago, no reply. I sent an email again recently. I got some replies. But they do not want to do anything about it. Spam at its finest. Trying to make money as much as possible until the product is abandoned.
Update: 18 May 2023
I did reply 2 emails to require a refund for the 50% discounted subscription that I could not use. No one even bothers to reply to me. So please don't pretend you are going to resolve your customer's issues. Not just only poor customer service but knowing the product this not going to last, get money as much as you can by spamming your supporters. Shameful

I had hope but what a let down
Finally recieved my kit and hoped it would work as demonstrated but it really is unuseable. It seems like the concept is a fantasy because I backed the original kickstarter which also didn't work but I remained hopeful the second iteration would have sorted out the issues. The app is better I give them that and the integrated sensors in the sticks is nice but apart from that, it just doesn't work. Very disappointed and clearly I'm not the only one.
Broken when they came and no support
Waited for two years and when it arrived, one of the sticks were missing a screw and wouldn't connect. I have written the support email asking what to do three times, but they didn't answer. Now I don't know what to do.
I have consideret to go to the adress in Malmø, that they have on their website, to see if there is some real people to talk to there, but I'm afraid that there won't be.
I understand the long wait as the world situation hasn't been easy and so on, and I guess it can happen that there are flaws in the product. But I really wish the support was better now that it happened...
I would have loved some working sticks but if they can't deliver that then at least give the money back.

I wait almost 1 year to recieve it. Good after sale service
I wait almost 1 year to recieve it, but i knew that happens reading the requests. When the product arrives it didn´t connect but a clearly and good support after-sales teach me to rebuddy the device. Now learning how to play on that way and enjoying the experience!!!
It is real and it does work!
After a lengthy wait from pre-order (standard delays thanks to Covid and Brexit), the kit finally arrived with good comms on the transit. The only other delay was UK customs for the import duty that I was responsible for.
The kit powered up but wouldn't connect. I reached out to them on email and they were able to provide very clear instructions for resetting (unbuddy and rebuddy process), which worked first time. All good and very happy - great bit of kit.

Supremely Disappointing, False Promises and unresponsive support
Waited almost 3 years to receive my freedrum set 2,
Also paid heavy customs duty on it. only for the Sensors to not work at all!
One of the sticks is not even turning on.
and the rest is just a sham
I truly wanted to believe in this product looking at the kickstarter campaign, but this turned out to be a long awaited failure.
Tried contacting them but left with no response to multiple attempts
@Freedrum team, if you're looking at this, kindly check confirmation number 24033479a8d63dd61140c1ac521682aa (kickstarter)
I first wish to resolve my issues and get the product working, if all else fails, please take it back and give me my money

App great, Kit promising
Ok, so my kit finally arrived last Tuesday. I have used it in at least 10 sessions since (my drumming skills are at a low intermediate level) and would like to share the following impressions:
It‘s a great leap forward from the first Freedrum kit, but it’s not perfect yet. At the moment, the cymbals are hard to play, it’s a matter of luck to find the crash and the ride is often disturbed by crash noises. The hihat operation is not as straightforward as it should be. Occasional disconnections in the middle of playing do happen, but can quickly be resolved by restarting the sticks.
Other than that, the sticks look great, work (the closed hihat, snare, bass drum and floor tom proved most reliable in my drumming sessions), have nice haptics and the whole kit sounds quite punchy over headphones in my ears.
It can be fun to use, for instance playing along to songs in your library. To lower frustration, it is important to read the ‚How to Play Freedrum Electronic Drumsticks’ or watch the video explanation on the freedrum.rocks site prior to using the kit, as to understand the angles at which the sticks work. Learning to use the sticks takes some time and patience, it‘s not superintuitive.
I don’t think the kit is a waste of money, as stated here by some users. It surely can be improved, but as I don’t have professional usage ambitions, I think I will use it for practicing, as intended. And of course, I hope for firmware updates that lift the kit’s capabilities to the level of the oustanding Freedrum Studio app. Seen the quality level of the app and the care they took in designing the new kit, I am confident they will resolve pending issues and deliver on a highly portable, frustration-free product. Let’s hope that the improvements won‘t take another 2,5 years to be available ;)

Good experience
I payed for annual subscription with different email than the one I used for the app using Gpay. And they solved the problem very quickly.
It took them few days to answer. Don't rush them just give them time.
I wish them good luck

Broken and the biggest scam ever
If you don’t want to read the whole thing, just jump to „The biggest fraud ever“…
Waited three years! Now the Freedrum 2 finally arrived, and I have to say…. yes and no! It’s funny in the beginning, but way too inaccurate! Every second hit is a miss. The drums seam to „shift“ with the time you play and you have to recalibrate every 5 minutes. Some drums are oddly strange positioned and you have to reach behind your back to reach them and you can not customize them. I payed a 3 months subscription and have no idea how to activate it, and the support is horrible… :( The knee pads disconnect every time I play and the right drum stick shuts down every 10 minutes!!!!… And finally: there is not even a little pouch or case or bag or whatever. It’s really sad. But for me it’s nevertheless fun. Even with the often strange behavior of the drums… Final verdict: I payed for a device which seems broken (disconnects all the time) and I want a replacement for that, BUT and that’s a big one for me: THE SUPPORT IS NOT ANSWERING!!!! And that’s a no go!! Hopefully some of this could be improved with future updates :)
But until I get my replacement of a working product and an answer from the developers I will not give this a good rating!!
FOLLOWUP AFTER THEIR ANSWER:
They created a ticked for me! Isn’t that great! After 5 mails and waiting for two weeks they finally created a ticked… wow! Not that I have heard anything from them, but at least… I own a ticked..!! That’s ridiculous..!! MY SET IS NOT WORKING AND I WANT A REPLACEMENT!! I mean come on, it’s not rocket science: I hit on a drum, 3 times it’s there and then it’s somewhere else… one of my sticks disconnects randomly… the screws are getting loose (and I play basic stuff because I’m learning, nothing fast) and my right knee pad disconnects too all the time… firmware is updated… SO COME ON!!! Take responsibility as a company and send me a working one!!
„THE BIGGEST FRAUD EVER“: After two months they finally agreed to exchange my kit with a new one. I just have to send them my old one first. Said and done! AND NOW COMES THE BIG ONE!!
After waiting for another two weeks they sent me the same old kit back and said they’ve replaced it!!!!!
Can you believe this??? They said, a new working one is on it’s way, but they just returned me my old one, hoping I wouldn’t recognize it..!!!!
I’m just speechless…..!!
IF YOU WANT TO SAVE YOU SOME BIG TROUBLE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!!!

Avoid at all cost!
Avoid at all cost! I ordered a Freedrum 2 back in late 2020. Did not arrive until late 2022! One of my sticks arrived broken and the app/software is completely useless. Will not sink, pair or play whatsoever.
The company themselves are thiefs in my opinion. They made promises of a cool working product and the reviews are just the same as mine. They do not reply. No way to get a hold of them. I will be reaching out to Swedish/EU body in charged of looking into their business practices. They continue to operate as if they have delivered a product to be proud of. Continuing to take people's money and delivering junk.
Unhappy with the musical experience, customer service reply outstanding for an unacceptable time
Unhappy with the musical experience. Product trigger response and accuracy not suitable for my needs. Technical service gives no reply for return since 11 (!) days. Very unsatisfying service level.
Update 05.04.2007: after more than two weeks and two more reminder mails the company got back to me and initiated the product return procedure. Will keep you posted.
Review for Freedrum Studio only
We had received a one month free trial for their Freedrum Studio Software and despite some bugs and lag we wanted to extend our trial by booking a subscription. After doing that, the app kept being blocked while my credit card is still being charged every month despite having cancelled already a few month back. The support doesn't reply to mail or the support chat. There was simply no way to get in touch.
Update: I was about to contact local authorities in Sweden and decided to use one last attempt to contact the support chat function on the website. After 15min I actually got hold of one of the support guys and confronted him about the situation. He was able to resolve the situation and admitted that they struggle with a lack of staff but they are working on it. After telling him that I think their software is quite good despite some bugs but I still don't feel confident in giving it another try, he offered me a prolonged trial for 12month which seemed pretty fair and I'm therefore testing the software again.
My advice if you have some issues is to try to contact the chat support again during their office hours.
Terrible customer service, broken product
Firstly, this product shipped almost two years late. Prior to receiving it, I had spent months emailing the company and messaging them on social media to try and cancel/get a refund for my order -- with no response. After I received it, they finally responded to my messages saying that since I received it, I was no longer eligible for order cancellation or refund. The fact that I had opened the ticket months prior to receiving it was no factor to them. The cherry on top? One of the sticks does not turn on or connect to anything. If I could leave 0 stars I would, waste of money, terrible customer service.
**UPDATE** As you can see below, they requested I email them to rectify this issue. So I did. And got the same result that I did the previous 6 times I tried emailing them...no response and it's been 7 days. Why reply to this review so quickly and not the emails from your customers?

Avoid this product/No actual support
If I could go zero stars then I would. I requested a refund from customer support. I've sent over 5 different emails looking for updates. It's approaching the 14 day windows for returns, and it looks like I will miss it because of nobody will give me a return. Their customer service is terrible.
