Nineteen materials work across three stages here, an extraordinarily dense structure for a fragrance now considered a modern classic. Green notes, freesia, sage, assorted citruses and mandarin orange crowd the opening into a crisp, herbal freshness that avoids feeling like a single simple note. Carnation, lily, lily of the valley, narcissus, marigold, violet, rose and jasmine build an enormous floral middle, the kind of density rarely attempted in fragrances released today. Musk, heliotrope, sandalwood, amber and patchouli wrap things up warm and powdery, giving Eternity Eau de Parfum its signature soft, long-lasting conclusion. Floral aromatic is the fitting classification, polished enough for office wear yet substantial enough for evening occasions too. Calvin Klein built this for nearly any season, though fall and winter let the powdery, ambered close show up most clearly.
