I would give a negative review if I could!!!!!!!! This place is a joke!!!!!! I didn't even use the equipment and they still charged me $450.00, then turned around and charged me another $350.00 for early termination!!!!! They take weeks upon weeks to give you an answer to anything!!!!!!!! I have been waiting 3 weeks now for answers as to why I was charged these!!!!!!!!!

I have had nothing but trouble with Fortis but our biggest issue was in february 2024 they replaced our card reader and when they did they gave us a new account but never closed the old one. Since then to today(6/02/2025) I have been through countless phone calls, emails, docsigns and more to get that account closed and cancelled. I am being charged $140 a month for nothing and if you ask for a supervisor they give you every excuse on why they cant.

Horrible choice for a micro business. Took 3 cards last year and paid over $1700 in fees. Took me over 4 hours to find out they were the ones taking all the money out of my account. Debi CreatewClay

Fortis' fees were clearly communicated from the start, and-- unlike our previous credit card processor-- they didn't raise our rates once we signed on! Customer service was prompt, friendly, informative. Instructions for set-up of service could have been clearer-- it was a simple enough process but instructions complicated it. We are very happy with Fortis overall.

Working with Fortis Pay has been an outstanding experience, and I can’t say enough good things about Jim Gustafson. Jim provided the absolute best customer service I’ve ever received—he truly went above and beyond. We use an Intercal system to manage memberships, which is a bit outside the norm, but Jim never missed a beat. He personally guided us through every step of the integration process, ensuring our unique setup worked seamlessly with our point-of-sale system.
The entire Fortis team was helpful and responsive, but Jim really took point and made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Customer service rep was great at patiently waiting for me to work through the test transaction. I look forward to working with them and it seems like a no-brainer.
I read the recent negative review and thot, what equipment was ordered. The only thing recommended that I purchase was a $10 scanner from Amazon.
Compared to what the bank processing company wanted me to purchase, this was pennies on the dollar.
