I’m incredibly grateful and fortunate to have completed the certificate in facial mask therapy with Formula Botanica. This course has been immensely enriching, providing me with a deep understanding of the theoretical aspects and practical techniques of mask formulation. This experience has allowed me to dive deep into the world of mask formulations. I’ve learned about the different types of masks, the challenges of formulating clay masks, and how to overcome common formulation issues mainly when it comes to preservation. This journey has expanded my knowledge far beyond what I initially expected, introducing me to a wide range of innovative formulations that I hadn’t considered before. Overall, I’m thankful for this journey and confident that the knowledge and skills I’ve gained will greatly benefit my future career as a cosmetic formulator.

This Chocolate Skincare Formulation course met my needs beautifully. I really enjoyed how clearly everything was explained — from the properties of cocoa butter and cocoa extracts to the practical steps of creating chocolate-inspired skincare. The lessons were concise, sensorial, and full of useful formulation tips that I can apply immediately. As someone who already formulates at home, I appreciated the focus on ingredient function, stability, and texture, but also the creativity that chocolate brings to skincare. It was a joy to follow and it gave me a fresh wave of inspiration.

The Content and step by step guidance was really good.. Online community support and tutors responded well. FM also gave lot of space for new formulators to explore their choices. The Extension that your team provided to complete the course genuinely was helpful. Assistance provided by tutors to complete the Final Project was commendable. I would like to thank Viktoriaa , my grader who guided me towards my final project.

The course is focused and concise, the school gives you enough time to finish and achieve great grades if you are passionate about the subject. The Facebook community is very supportive.

Very disappointed with the advanced diploma. Already from the start you have to make a bunch of “experiments” and buy new ingredients, just to come forward to the next modules , while you pay 700€. I asked to just get the material from modules to study for my own peace and im not interested into the diploma ( cos of the special situation home) and they told me its not possible. Im disappointed at least the material should be available from the start like at real school. So the money was waisted. Think before you purchase. If the study was like for the basic diploma would be much better structure. But in this case a big big disappointment for Advanced diploma study.

My experiment with this one was pretty easy it's not us overwhelming with a lot of information like the others and it's quite enjoyable I learned a lot about chocolate that I've never thought about thanks to you guys so yes I'm underline and I really enjoyed this course very much and thank you again with all my heart

I like that the courses are structured in a way to ease the learning process and not get overwhelmed. The information is great, and explained very well. I would have liked some classes to be more in depth, but I assume that is why there is an Advanced class. Going through the modules was easy, the tutors quick responses were of great help too.

Stop and read before you send $1,000 on their program, I just completed the course and the evaluation was so extremely biased. They limit you in so many ways and they want to know everything about your formula for your businesses. If you don’t give them that they will fail you. I turned in a formula with an array of oils emulsifiers, essential oils and had a target audience for curly/coily hair type. But they failed me… They did not use the grading rubric and started going off script. The evaluator said I needed more anti static but all hair types do not need that. Telling me this is not a haircare product because it will sit on the hair with all the oils it’s more like a lotion. They did not know textured hair needs sealants to sit on the hair and hold moisture. When I explained it to them they stonewalled me and told me they have a coily haired chemist who gave them feedback. But none of their representatives showed people of color and the people I talked to were all white women with straight hair! In their handbooks their curly/coily hair feedback was inconclusive or when they did have one they said their formula left their hair dry. I had to explain to them that a surfactant can act as an emulsifier and it needs to be gentle on curly coily hair. In their program they only use a few types of emulsifiers over and over again and their tutors are not real chemist. Everything was fine until the final project where you actually interact with someone from their team. I had turned in a project listing all the INCI data but then they graded me on something biased that was outside of the scope. Maybe because my target audience was unfamiliar and I showed myself in the photo (a black woman). When I tried to appeal the grade they did not allow me to access the link for appeals. Complete scam. They only use a few type of ingredients and hold on to those for dear life. You can get a lot of formula experience from your own resources or forums from online or go to a different school that uses more ingredients. They do don’t have real chemist grading your final product and if you are black wanting to go into curly haircare they will scrutinize you.

Also when I go to their accreditation page it says link not found on the board who accredited them. Their evaluation for black haircare showed weaponized incompetence I had to explain how every ingredient works for coily hair when they are supposed to be the ones that know. I do not recommend. All these raving reviews I did not expect this, but if you’re not giving them what they want or making straight hair products they can relate to you will get a totally different experience. Sorry for this extremly long review!

Most importantly, it empowered me to think like a professional. I now follow GMP practices, document batches, and design formulas that are not only effective but aligned with my values of clean, natural beauty.

Overall the course provides an exceptional learning experience. I have loved participating in all my courses.

This is the best investment ever I had made for myself. The wealth of information and knowledge I had acquired from Formula Botanica, is second to none. It had given me the confidence to believe in myself that I can create and formulate a sellable product. Thank you to Lorraine and her wonderful/professional/friendly team providing such high standard courses to students across the globe. This is an extremely resourceful course, good value for money, extremely valuable tutors support, interactive online classroom and community support, monthly student support /news and highly recommend.

I feel the courses offered were outstanding, and the modules and tests, enabled me to progress through the material at my own pace. Sadly, I didn’t complete all the courses, but completed a significant amount, especially as an accredited formulator and the Beauty Brand Business Management diploma. A must course to truly understand what it takes to having a successful product line. From very little knowledge about formulating to having an expansive knowledge of ingredients, and their effect on the skin, has created a real joy in my life. Also, the art of understanding the maths and science of what makes up a beautiful product.

What can I say. I will miss the challenges of those courses, but hope in the future their will be new ones from Formula Botanica. You are a star.
