Deceitful lending practices
Deceitful lending practices.
One person will be cutting deals with you on your loan over the phone, but that person disappears from the emails when underwriting gets involved. Lots of pressure to "talk about the deal" over the phone but not send anything in writing. Then it shows up as a huge document to esign from underwriting, with the sales person reassuring you over the phone that everything you discussed is captured in the loan documents. You comb through it as much as you can to cover the main points, but "they can only secure the deal for today, and then we have to go back through underwriting if it's not signed today", so you're rushed and don't get to confirm all the details.
Our main issue we ran into with this loan is the payoff terms. If I pay the loan off early, then the total amount should be different than if I paid it out monthly until the end of the term. That was agreed upon verbally multiple times. We went to pay off the loan this week and they wouldnt give a clear answer until they received the wire for the payoff that "Your Total Payback amount includes interest amount as well". So there actually isn't a benefit to paying the loan off early, but they'd like to get their cash back early and not disclose that.
