Footplate Reviews

I’ve been trying to resurrect an old model railway, and I had no working trains. Footplate was the only place I could find second -hand trains at a reasonable price, so they were in fact the only place I could go. Train arrived promptly (well, apart from Royal Mail being stupid) and runs nicely, what more could I want?

Was easy to order off the website great prices and lots of choice, delivered in good time will definitely look to order again in the future.

A superb website, an excellent price, quick delivery and a customer friendly online ordering process.

Excellent prices always posted promptly and well packed always good communication

Great value and really easy to purchase.

Arrived promptly and well protected.

The buying experience has improved even more now. I made a suggestion in my last review and it has been implemented. All rolling stock is now listed as a single item not a pack of, say, three - 10 out of 10!
Faultless transaction with fair price and postage throughout, thank you.

Of the three big railway shops I rate them first. Have had many secondhand purchases from them and what pleases me most is that their comments on the quality are detailed enough, but on the ball. Of the three they are the easiest to get to the descriptions and comments of quality. With new, also on the ball with service. Never had a reason to grumble about packaging or the speed of delivery. Of the big three I feel most comfortable with Footplate than the other two.

An amazing experience with all the help you could possibly need. Bought locos at an outstandingly low and I would say sensible price. This company has my full and sincere recommendation to all collectors and modellers.
Thank you.

A purchase of a 2nd hand item went flawlessly and, when received, it was immaculate. Not their fault Royal Mail were 24hrs later than promised. I'd certainly recommend them

Very pleased with the pre-owned Wrenn items I have bought. In very good condition with original boxes.
Good prices and delivered quickly. Will definitely be back for more.

Once again an excellent purchase from Footplate. Would definitely recommend this company especially as their prices seem to be quite keen compared to some other places.

Contacted Footplate with my father-In-laws 00 collection. They offered the best price over any other offers we were given. The contact with Richard was always polite & fair.
Very happy to have dealt with them.
The shop in Kidderminster is a proper Aladdin’s cave, think any Modellers would find anything they needed.
Thank you again Richard.

My first purchase with them, just starting with trains again after around 50+years,the delivery was quick, the engine itself was very well packed, and after a little hiccup it runs lovely, very impressed with the service and have already made another order, excellent.

I was having to sell my deceased father's O Gauge items. The communication was simple with Richard at Footplate and (in my opinion) fair.
The logistics of getting everything to them was again, made easier by their tried and tested methods.
I purchased some items for my own OO gauge, which arrived promptly.
If they have what I next need - I will be back there (Thumbs up)

I have purchased from Footplate on a couple of occasions, the first time there were problems sourcing the model but the communication and efficiency in arranging a refund was excellent. Second time around the time between placing the order and delivery was just over 48 hours which I doubt could be bettered. Fantastic service all round!

It's a joy to visit Footplate. I always see something to buy and often have to sit on my hands.
I really appreciate the no nonsense site and ordering process. Just the right amount of feedback on order progress.

Bought a G1 loco from Footplate at an exhibition on a Saturday. The associated manuals turned up in the post the following Tuesday. Excellent service.

Excellent Service With Thanks

I look at the website every day as the stock is always changing. Wagon was well priced and was as advertised- if anything, in better condition than I had expected. It arrived when they said and was very well packed.

Great service! Order dispatched very quickly and as described. Have used before and will definitely use again. Thank you.
