Faithful Customer Now Blocked
I have used Foodsaver bags for years. Last year during their buy 2 get 2 sale, l placed a large order. However, they substituted some of the bags which l did not order. It took a long process to get them to send me what l ordered to include sending them pictures of what l received as if l was lying. I finally received the bags l ordered after having my credit card company place a hold on the payment. Well guess what, apparently they have blocked me from ordering their bags now. I tried to place an order and it kept denying my payment regardless of the card l used. When l called customer service they hinted that l was being blocked and stated l needed to use incognito or another web browser. WOW! Never expected that. Long story short, they will take our money and then punish the customer for their mistake.
Bad quality
The Foodsaver does not seal. It only lasted a short time before malfunctioning. Overall terrible quality.
Food Saver Mini-Don't Waste Your Money
I purchased my first Food Saver Mini in January 2026 from Amazon. After 5 weeks and approximately 15 uses it died. I contacted Food Saver support and they refunded my purchase. Great! So I bought a second one. 5 Weeks later same thing. I contacted support again (numerous times) and most times no response. They asked me to fill out a form which cannot be completed in Canada. Tried to contact them about being onable to complete their online form but no response so have given up and wrote off my second purchase. I found a competitors product that works extremely well I'm very satisfied with. I can even use the Food Saver bags with it. My take is the motor just isn't powerful enough to handle the job.
Bad bag material
First of all, the customer service rep was very delightful to deal with. This is why I'm giving 1 star. We have (2) fm5200 sealers. They have been good machines. However, the quality of the continuous bag material has gone downhill for quite some time. We always buy the 4 and 6 pack of bag material because we do a lot of bulk sealing. After several purchases, and I mean several, I decided to reach out to foodsaver because of the wrinkles in the product. Sometimes you loose 2 feet of 16 feet of material due to wrinkles that will not seal. Then, you have to fight the rest of the roll to get some use out of it. The rep was very understanding and helpful. She took all my info and documentation including photos of the material and my last purchased 6 pak box with the pkg number. I stretched out 6 feet of material and took photos of defective wrinkled material She then submitted it for further review. I had photos of material, box, pkg number, and where I bought it. They denied me any compensation because I couldn't produce my receipt. Remember, at the beginning of my review, I buy in bulk. So I don't always use what I buy right away. Because of their company policy, they could not recognize their own product or packaging in the photos. But as a goodwill gesture, she offered me a free 2 pack of material for free. I refused the offer. I was offended by it. No longer will I buy another foodsaver product.

Inferior Replacement
I received a Foodsaver Model 5100 as a gift. Several months later, it stopped sealing, so, as it was under warranty, I contacted the manufacturer, who provided me with a prepaid shipping label. Upon receiving my unit, Foodsafe stated it would ship a newer model as my replacement. After many emails and five weeks, I received the replacement model. It lacks several features of my model, is less powerful, and less expensive than the original model. I have attempted to contact them on several occasions with no success. I consider Foodsafe a bad faith company.
COMPLETELY USELESS!!
Completely useless if you are trying to seal anything with any moisture at all. I was hoping to seal prepared recipes but the machine will not seal if there is any moisture. They suggest freezing first and then trying to seal but it doesn’t work.You would be better off buying zip lock baggies. Waste of time and money.
Done with Foodsaver Hand Held
I purchased the Foodsaver handheld vacuum sealer, used it once and now it doesn't work, when I contacted Foodsaver I was told that if it was over a year since I purchased it, it was out of warranty. I couldn't find my receipt so I bought another one off line supposed to be new and it doesn't work either. I'm done with Foodsaver!!
Customer service & warranty are lacking
Similar to other reviews, the customer service is definitely lacking.
Purchased one of their products and it has ceased to work properly.
It is in year 3 of a 5 year warranty.
Have contacted customer service and received an email noting suggestions to try to fix it.
The suggestions were generic, not specific to the unit in question.
However, we did our best to try the suggestions without success.
Unit is still not working properly.
Have sent two follow up requests with no response.
Unit is useless to us.
Why have a product warranty and customer service department if nothing is followed through???
Customer Service is nowhere to be seen
First of all, I hate that I have to write this review. This was totally avoidable had I received any response to my multiple attempts to contact customer service for help.
A little while back, I purchased a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer (model V4840) to replace my previous unit that finally wore out after years of use. I loved it and used it often. My expectation with the new vacuum sealer was that I would have the same experience, which is why I was okay spending $249.00 on the new unit.
On my fourth use, I noticed that the bags (FoodSaver brand) were not sealing, and there was a red light indicating that the “Tray was full.” I clean my vacuum sealer after every use, so I was surprised to see this. However, I opened the tray to troubleshoot the problem, and it was empty. I turned the unit off and back on, but it still wasn’t working. I unplugged it and waited a few hours, but it still didn’t work. I tried it again a couple of days later, and still nothing.
I wasn’t upset at this point, but I knew I needed to reach out to customer service to either troubleshoot the problem or make arrangements for a replacement unit. I received an automated email stating that they had received my request and that someone from their team would follow up with me. I waited a little over a week and never heard anything back.
Thinking my request might have fallen through the cracks (as that can happen), I reached out again with my reference number (47404684). Still nothing.
At this point, it feels like they are happy to sell me a defective product but are unable or unwilling to provide a loyal customer with any reasonable support for one of their top-tier products. Needless to say, I’ll be looking at their competitors going forward, as I expected much more from this company.
All in all, I have found this experience very disappointing.
FoodSaver-- nonexistent customer service
I have been using FoodSaver vacuum sealers for more than three decades. The one I have, my second one, still works, but I thought I would upgrade with a new one from Costco since they were on sale. FM 2900. Super disappointed that it didn't come with a port that I could use to seal canning jars, a feature which I use every day. I tried to put the equipment I have into the port of this machine, but it did not fit. So I tried to call the company, and after 20 minutes of waiting for someone to answer the phone I gave up. I then tried to fill out an email form, wasting another 20 minutes of my life, only to hit the submit button and get an error saying that they were having problems with their servers or some such thing. How utterly annoying. Suffice it to say that my question is still unanswered, and I will be returning the product to Costco and hope that my old one lasts. Sad that I can't even ask a question to perhaps find a model that still has that canning jar function, but I guess that's not possible. Why provide a phone number for customer service when it doesn't exist? And why have a form on your website when your website doesn't work? I will not buy another product from this company. At first I was surprised to see so many low ratings on this site for FoodSaver, but I noticed that most are related to poor customer service, and now I know why. Customer service is important in a good business, so figure it out FoodSaver.

Food saver bags are now missing cardboard cylinder....this is not a quality move....yes you can save money as a company but your product is not quality anymore! I will find other bags that meet my expectation of a product I used to live.

Model FS2110 hand held system
Model FS2110 hand held system. The first one stopped working after about the 6th time I used it. Shipped it back for inspection and they replaced it for me. Today I contacted them cause the replacement is doing the same thing. Frank from customer service told me I wasn’t sent a replacement and the photos and video I sent he said was the same ones from a year ago! Basically calling me a liar!!! My husband was right beside me yesterday when I took the pictures. Pics are date stamped!!!! He was very rude. After I told him I’ll be contacting corporate about the issue and him, I haven’t heard back. If he’s treating other customers like this, he needs to be fired. This is the second one. I want reimbursed. This model is no longer on the website and Ollie’s outlet has 100’s of them for 20.00. This tells me that this model has had multiple complaints!

Ordered 11" bags and was sent 8" bags. When I told them they did not ship what I ordered, I was told I had to pay to return the wrong order and reorder again. I should not have to pay for their mistakes.

The web site offers a 15% Discount if you sign up to receive emails from them. I signed up and was sent a code for 15% off. I tried to use the code 5 minutes later and got an Invalid Coupon message at the site. I called customer service, and they told me to send a screen shot of the shopping cart. They then said some of the items in my cart were already discounted and the coupon could not be applied to them. Nothing in my cart was on sale. Even if some items had been discounted the coupon should have applied to the other items. Nothing was on sale. The problem was an Invalid Coupon as the web site clearly stated. They got my email, sent me a worthless coupon and then blew me off.
Shame on you Foodsaver…
Bought the foodsaver about one and a half years ago. The heating strip has to be replaced as it no longer seals the bags rendering the machine useless.Got in touch with customer service and they said they do not sell that piece and offered me a 20% discount on a overpriced replacement(.229.). Shame on you foodsaver. Such a nice machine with no service.Do not want to spend 200. a year will buy cheaper model with replacement parts.
