my total was 230. i had a gift card i got for christmas from a friend. I told the cashier i had one for 75. She took it and charged me 75 then said my total was 305. I told her i was not buying it but cashing it in... a manager came and said i had to swipe it. i did and it did take off the75 and the total was the starting price of 230. When i told her i was charged 75 to much they argued that it right. Went back and talked to another so called manager and she said it looked like i bought and used a gift card on the transaction. I explained to her what happened so she manually added all the prices and said it was right 305... she said a gift card cannot be activated twice and that would mean the clerk would have to ring in 75.... SHE DID. She never even asked the cashier and just walked away ... Rude and stupid is what she is. 230 minus 75 is not 230..They need to hire people who listen and can add

In Gastonia, NC, there is a large variety of human, dog, and cat food. It is fresh. I also like the Deli, which gets out the barbecued hens every day. I bought one, and it was very tasty!
I would have given a 5 rating. However, I would have to find lower priced meat. My only wish would be that the prices in meats and dog food would drop down. How about a sale: Buy one dozen eggs and get one dozen free! Food prices have been rising substantially, and it is hard for seniors to buy meat and dog food.

This is a beach town and there aren’t that many of us during the off season. I live here. One would think, been here 2 years now, they would at least recognize my face and say SOMETHING, anything. Good morning, haven’t seen you in a minute, something. Does not happen. There were as many employees in the store this AM as there were customers. Not one person made eye contact. Kevin, store manager I believe, started to walk toward me and then turned around.
It is obvious the store culture is not one of friendly out going customer service. There are only 2 people in this store that actually seem to recognize me and speak.
What in the world?!! Customer service so easy to provide.
I continue to be disappointed how that store is allowed to continue without promoting service and keeping those who live here from driving over the bridge to shop, Lowe’s, Harris Teeter or Walmart.

Moved to the area. There are larger scale stores that may be cheaper, but the 104 Branchwood Shopping Ct, 28546 has always had everything needed. Even surprised to find more specialty items. Employees always helpful.

I wrote and sent a personal check to my brother for $10 in October. He went to the Vinton Virginia Food Lion and used the check to buy groceries. The cost of the groceries was $22.54. My brother was about to pay for the difference when the cashier stated don’t be concerned the additional cost can be taken care of. Not realizing what she meant the cashier somehow increased my personal $10 check to $22.54 electronically. My brother said that wasn’t right and the cashier stated it was too late and could not be changed. My brother went to another store associate and received the same comment.
What l didn’t know was when the check finally cleared my bank there was no visible account of my $10 check. The processed check was electronically changed from $10.00 to $22.54. I immediately called my bank representative and stated what had happened. Basically the representative stated that was FRAUD and l disputed the charge. Now it’s December and yesterday l received a notice from a collection agency saying I’m responsible for the $22.54. I contacted my brother who will reimburse me for the cost, this will save an undue profanity letter that l already typed up for the collection agency and Food Lion in Vinton Virginia. Though my biggest question in how can a company change the amount of a personal check? Needless to say when l travel back to Virginia l will avoid the Food Lion in Vinton Virginia.

For the past two years, I would buy the food lion amish potato salad. A few months ago, the price went down, but now it taste awful, like someone is using a metal spoon to mix it up. Will not buy again, it's back to making my own.

Unresponsive customer support/service. I feel like I won't get a response to this either. I've had groceries delivered to my house about 5 times - it was great! However, all of a sudden - last night, I went to the webiste, input my zipcode, and it said, "We don't deliver to your location." WTH? What? I can't drive - and the store is 4 miles away. It's not that far, if you have a car. What changed? What's going on???

For the last several times my daughter and I have gone to the local Food Lion, the cashiers at the checkout have been very rude about how many of a certain canned item we purchase. I like getting that particular canned item there as it is a good deal. However, it is not their job to question what I buy or make rude comments about it. The latest experience the cashier loaded every can she could possibly fit into the bags, then acted like they were so heavy she could not lift them, then said "that's a lot of tomatoes". I felt I needed to explain that I cook from scratch, and use a lot of the products for batch cooking to which she replied her relative cooked some sauce for 15 hours, but didn't want to live in this area of the country because she didn't like southern people.
I like Food Lion but I don't have to shop there, I choose to. I am sick and tired of how rude they are. There is another Food Lion store not as close I will try, just due to the rude behavior at this one, which is sad, because it's just down the road from where I live. If that doesn't work, and the rudeness continues, I can find stores more interested in the customer and not making snide comments over their purchases.

I went to Food Lion located on Sandy Spring Rd in Laurel MD yesterday to shop for groceries and I purchased steaks got home and they were no good also purchased Blue Bonnet soft butter no good, and I was going to purchase a Perdue chicken the date had expired 4 days prior,this isn't the first time at this location I have had problems with meat, there was also a customer that had brought back meat why I was in line, maybe they should check into the management, and the rest of the chicken was put out frozen!!

Saturday I placed an order using the Food Lion To Go feature Order ID: # 12126827841509368. I initially planned on picking up the items but saw that delivery was an option. I selected delivery because it would allow me to run some errands and free up some time. The delivery window that I selected was between 1230-1:50pm. There were no options to select a 4 hour delivery window. My order arrived at 11:25am and sat outside unrefrigerated for over an hour. My order consisted of number of perishable items including meat, dairy, frozen, and produce. I submitted an issue ticket with Instacart which I didn’t realize was responsible for the delivery… and they told me they could provide me a $65 credit and free delivery on my next order over $35. Grocery delivery is not a service that use often and this would not benefit me because I am afraid to serve my family the perishable items that were out in the sun off of refrigeration. I requested to have that credit/ refund to be applied to my original payment method. They replied and told me that my delivery window was from 9:37am-1:50pm which makes no sense. I cannot believe that I’m having to go through this much hassle for someone to make this right. I believe the perishable items in my order should be refunded or I need to see a credit to be applied for me to see that it is visible. Who can make this right?

Delighted ! My wife & I found Wise brand potato chips in the Clemmons NC store to our surprise. I am from Portsmouth Virginia & that's all my family ate . I believe it is put out by Boone Distributors ?11

My experience is made great by the low prices, coupons offered, friendly cashers and other store workers, and clean and uncluttered stores.

The lady was so rude she took my mothers phone and would not let her leave until she had the app downloaded she was so rude we are never coming back

I absolutely love foodlion! In my opinion this is one of the best grocery stores! Produce is always fresh and crisp and prices are hard to beat! I also love the MVP option this allows you to save extra money as well. MVP customers also can recieve coupons in the mail which allows you to get even better savings and sometimes some FREE items! I have saved $470 with my year to date savings being a MVP customer! It honestly does not get no better than this! Thank you foodlion for putting fresh, delicious and budget friendly food on the table for my family!

If this location continues to treat every customer like a thief no one will want to shop here, I had a young lady circle me like I was a dead carcass and she was a vulture while I was at self-checkout, I am not exaggerating she walked around me at least 10 times, I confronted her about this behavior and she said She had to do this! Raleigh Leesville location by the way

Had to check myself out. One cashier at the evening rush is not sufficient. If I wanted this kind of service, I would’ve gone to Walmart. At least their prices are better.

I never got my MVP points off which is for things on sale which equal to over $38 I've made over 15 phone calls to these people have not heard back be careful using them

So I went this morning to get a money order . I pulled out my purse and I dropped 20$ They tell me they can’t do money orders on Sunday ok ., fine I left . When I notice I drop the 20 I go back and asked if any one turned in some money the cashier said idk let me ask . So she knocked on the office door . They open the the door and she asked did anyone return some money . They asked her how much she said 20 one girl said yes and that she gave it to a man said it was his . I’m standing there listening to the whole conversation and the man holding the door says just tell her no …. Makes me wonder if they keep them smh . People in the food lion from Blacksburg Virginia are thieves and resist

Can’t believe Food Lion would stoop so low to badger every customer for more money every time as HIGH as groceries are!!!!!!

Recently had an issue with my Food Lion to go order. Long story short, my final price was about 18 dollars more than what it should have been. Total that came out of my account was about 176, receipt that Food Lion sent me when I made them aware, plus the 6 in taxes & just under 2 for a PICK UP fee, the total is about 157. Taking business somewhere else! This could have been avoided, but no one wanted to take responsibility, just handed off to instacart & back to FL, then instacart again. Shame to think of the amount of money FL makes on a daily basis and they can't even bother to get this resolved. I'm sure 18 dollars is nothing in comparison to what they generate every day. I hate that I have to now go to Aldi and probably another store to find everything on my list since aldi doesn't always have everything. Walmart maybe? Never experienced Walmart for a full grocery trip, but I guess I'll find out!
