FMC did a great job organizing After Effects World in Seattle this year, but some of the event's details fell short. The guests and speakers were genuinely good, all folks that I wanted to see and talk to - especially the AE dev team. But the facilities and hotel services seemed like they were a little disorganized. Maybe it's just their first rodeo, so to speak? Keep trying, FMC! And next time, please offer more descriptions of the sessions in addition to the titles.

This was my first time attending and I had a great time. I plan on going to more!
A couple of the sessions were great. Some were good and some ok
I would love to see more design orientated ones in which the presenter has a kick a*s, highly detailed and complex project and goes thru the process on how it was created, all the way back into the conceptualization part.
The Keynote with Martin Romances was great. I would have loved to hear him talk more in detail about his workflow and thought process but time is always a limiting factor.
Also I would like to get more advanced sessions with After Effects. More of the workflow that was presented rested on a beginner level. I would like to get some greater insight on After Effects and its capabilities.
Breaking into groups during one of the larger sessions was fun and we had a chance to get with the engineers on a more one on one basis. A couple negatives would be that a discussion could easily be monopolized by one person asking questions. And also since we were in one large auditorium, I had to deal with crowd noise from the other groups so it was a little difficult to hear at times.
I'm looking forward to the next one. Hopefully it'll be in another town as fun as Seattle. Just try to avoid Denver...because that's where I live and I'd rather travel:)

I loved FMC's After Effects World in Seattle. Great learning and networking opportunity.

I enjoyed the conference very much. The caliber of the speakers was excellent and it was well organized and well run.

Enjoyed the conference I attended in LA. Met lots of people. I wanted to spend more time with Marcelo but maybe will get a chance later. But enjoyed exploring new technologies while I was there

FMC was a very informative experience when learning Macbook Mojave 10.14 essentials training as well as writing the exam for this course.
We have learned a lot more than what our careers require which helps to expand our knowledge.
Recommend this course to anyone wanting to be certified.

Really a good overview of 360 video production both audio and video. The hands on shooting and stitching was really helpful. Thanks.

Great classes- Adobe Connect is an issue.
Because I am behind the firewall of a major retailer, Adobe Connect does not work.
I need to connect to the internet a different way that involves multiple hoops.
I know it is an Adobe tie-in but a YouTube class would be better.

FMC does a great job of helping you get the basics down to be able to grow your understanding. I have attended a couple of their training sessions and have always walked away with a better understanding of the tools they were teaching.

Attended the training @NAB in 2019.... I wish there could be a selection between the cost of the weekend courses and the one hour courses to get in-depth, but not in debt!!

Excellent class with an excellent, knowledgeable instructor.

This is the second course I've virtually attended through FMC. I found the instructors to be patient, friendly and had real world knowledge to share in each application. Without this training, I would not have passed the official certification.

Most of the teachers were amazing - Kyle Hamrick, Evan Abrams, and Eran Stern showed me basics and advanced techniques that really improved my skills. Some of the teachers were running advanced classes as if we had never used a computer before, which was a bit frustrating.
Overall, I'm very pleased that I attended, and look forward to possibly taking more classes at NAB in the future.

Some speakers have poor follow up support

Great to have a gathering of all walks of career backgrounds and meet new people. Particularly fun to see a set-up of a live show. Sitting through 3-hours+ of non-stop lectures was a little grueling because of the lots of content to absorb. However, The presenters were excellent speakers, industry experts I trusted, and the devices were fun to try out.

The class was advertised as introduction to Adobe After Effects, but actually taught as advanced, since most attendees were advanced users. Not much better help for beginners!

Good industry culture, great trainers, good insight and excellent training. Needs greater flexibility to offer training (paid and unpaid) outside of the conventional venues such as conventions and industry conferences - and instead go to where the new users are/will be, ie. universities, user groups, etc.

NAB 2019 @ Las Vegas
Good sharing of knowledge. The presentation could be organized and structured better. There were at times lack of space with people still trying to fit in. Video and Audio experience was not impressive either for an event that deals with Video and Audio. The presenters need to hire professional technical writers to help script the presentation as topics were going all over the place at times. Actual participants were helping out and correcting as well.
The only presenters that were worth watching and taking the time to learn from are those they hired from people already contributing at Lynda.com. Other than that the others were just freestyling the presentation.
People were taking photos of the poorly lit screen. Each session needs to have an emailed PDF handout right off the bat. No exception. This would allow everyone to concentrate listening to the session than trying to take notes from unstructured presentations.
Did I mention Video and Audio presentation quality was not optimal for a Video and Audio show? Until this has been addressed, I don't think I will be attending any more Las Vegas conferences unless it was free at this point. Not worth my over USD$1K investment for the conference alone not to mention additional hotel, airplane, and food expenses during the 7 days I was there.
