Disgraceful

Agreed to a £47 a month contract. First Month they charged me £57. Second month they charged me £84. Took almost a month to get a refund while they repeatedly told me they'd already issued the refund. Now FF are telling me if I do not see out the remaining 10 months of the contract they will pass the case over to a debt recovery agency. They have not acknowledged or apoligised for their mistakes. Disgraceful. Avoid at all costs.

Filthy and poor customer service

They never answer the phone and the Bondi Junction gym is always filthy. Bins are over flowing and the toilets are disgusting. I cancelled my membership but they continued to charge me and have been very hard to contact to get my money refunded.

Fitness first Castle Towers is the…

Fitness first Castle Towers is the worst. There’s this overweight Jason Mamoa’s ugly looking twin, who is rude with clients. The manager is under the age of 25 and is far too inexperienced to deal with such a large club. Avoid at all costs.

Lost my items and staffs never help

Horrible experience.

I lost my personal items 2 to 3 times at the Tottenham court road gym. The staffs, especially, the general manager, are NEVER willing to help.

Just don't go.

Bond St staff are rude!

I was so excited to go back to the gym. Really upset about the staff in the Fitness First Bond St. {Rude many times!} Fair pont that you have to book your classes (that have limited spots) and of course adhere to social distance. But not only is super hard to book a class, when you are there the majority of people doesn't show up! Really unfair! It should be managed better, if someone doesn't show up after 3 times, they should be on a waiting list, in order to make people that really are going, to go! Plus, some employees do not respect their own FF rules! If they say that you have to bring your own mat, do not allow anyone in without it! Same for arriving late, if someone is late, shouldn't be granted access, in few of the FF IN THE CITY (5so far) they allow people in seeing 5-10' late! How I am going to keep coming if I don't feel like they are taking it seriously!

My experience today with Fitness1st.com…Total fail

My experience today with Fitness1st.com was horrible. Can't contact anyone. I don't know if they even exist or not. I attempted to create an account and order merchandise at least twice. Failed! Tried to check out. Failed! Their website is terrible. In creating an account, I don't know if they want an email address, userid, password, a combination of all three or what in hell they want. If they have a bunch of stuff to sell, my fellow urchins, you can have it. Good luck!

I was a member for over 10 years doing…

I was a member for over 10 years doing mainly body attack as it was my favourite class. Received no advice at all, I had permanently hurt my knees from all the jumping in the class.
After a year, I was still no better and didn't attend a single class and paying full membership, I decided to cancel end of last year.
The customer service guy convinced me to stay on with a complimentary freeze. I thought he said 3 months but it wasn't. It was only until December. When it came off freeze, I didn't get an email. They claimed to have sent it. Maybe it went to junk.
So they are not going to refund me and they want me to wait a 28 day period unless I get a medical certificate! That's absurd as I'm no longer in a contract and I never stepped into their gym. They just want free money for a month. I'm going to pursue this further with ACCC.

Court case against this company

Hello, I am taking fitness 1st to court seeming as though they don’t want to cancel the membership. Some issues are:
1. When I signed up they said it would be 20% of the remaining amount to cancel the membership but they are asking for up to 90%. I had them write it down that it’s 20% in the terms when I signed up. Yet still they cannot accept that.
2. Unjustified harassment: The head office are constantly harassing me about the cancellation with no resolve, despite all this, and then they restore the membership and so I get more harassment from the gym about missed payments.
3. The gyms are largely unclean with dust, mould and bacteria ruling over the place. This is a health concern for the members and general population.
4. Far more issues which I will bring up in court.

Horrible Experience

Horrible Experience. They tricked their customers to sign a contract which requires 28 days to notify them if you wish to cancel, "even after you have finished your 12-month contract with them". This term in the agreement is uncommon for most gyms because the 28-day notice mostly applies in the situation when you need to cancel the membership before the agreed period. I believe that's why most people found unreasonable and unacceptable here. Although it disgusts me, whoever phrases this term is a genius. Who doesn't like easy money? Good job, fitness first. The telephone operator was pretty incapable and indifferent. For people who wish to find a gym service for convenience, this is definitely not your choice. Otherwise, you will end up like me, wasting your time writing a review here (because you will have nowhere to complain). I wish Fitness First keep doing whatever they are doing here. I look forward to the day they are bankrupted. "All the best".

Care factor ZERO!

I have my feet infected by the bacteria from the shower area twice as the cleaning of the area was very minimal with no disinfectant used. Equipments constantly broke down and no one care and bother fix it even reported many times. Management never bother reply the feedback or acknowledge received of it. It’s a dysfunctional club as members’ health and well being isn’t their priority (re George st brand).

Worst Experience With Fitness First…

Worst Experience With Fitness First Germany!

Terrible Customer Service. I joined Fitness First Hannover and moved to Hamburg for an internship. Changing my Home Club Location was easy cause I had the job contract, everything else a nightmare. While I was living in Hamburg, my mail still got sent to my old address in Hannover. Without calling me or just telling me when I was visiting the club in Hamburg, they send ONE warning letters that there were some payment issues. Afterwards they started suing me for it and I ended up having to pay $1000. I moved to Latin America afterwards and paused my membership for 6 months. After 5 months, I told them that I would be back to Hannover soon and that id like to change my location from Hamburg to Hannover then. I finally got a response after 14 days that the location in Hannover closed, so they cancelled my membership.
All this happened 2018-August 2019.
Now, February 2020, I get a demand of $1500. After multiple phone calls, (complicated since I live in California now) trying to find old e-mail correspondence, they finally apologized for this inconvenience. I'm beyond disappointed since training there is pleasant, but I don't have any words for their policies and customer treatment are

If I could give Fitness First no stars…

If I could give Fitness First no stars I would.

Don't go to the gym in Pitt Street, Sydney - you can't have a shower in the women's change room showers because there is no cold water and the water is scalding.

So many women have complained about it and the standard answer is 'there is a work order in' FOR THE LAST SIX MONTHS

Rude sales person at the Hammersmith…

Rude sales person at the Hammersmith branch. Totally incompetent in administering a transfer. Apparently friends family membership are only transferable if you pay the tier rate, contrary to what was advised during process by original club team to the club I was looking to transfer to. Even signed and agreed transfer to then find out the transfer will not be honoured at the discounted rate. Business must be tough!!!!

Fitness First Castle Towers - Unhygienic!

Fitness First Castle Towers

Older gym equipment. If they replace, they'll replace with last years refurbished models.
Unhygienic to the max. Shared relaxation zone is NEVER cleaned. Sauna and steam rooms smell like mold, I swear there is something growing in the Sauna and the in between the chairs in the Aromatherapy room. I complained about it and instead of fixing it, they just took the cleaning roster down lol

Steam room works 30% of the time.

Not worth the price I pay.
