Great customer service and products

Overall, I am very happy with the products and extremely grateful for the customer services provided by FitekGear. I used the products for around three years and had a little issue. The company helped me resolve the issue quickly and provided great feedback. I use the product for my Forestry job; the company seemed genuinely interested in how I use the product and offered constructive solutions to my workflow.

Ruxton Pack is the BEST

The Ruxton check pack is, without a doubt, the single most useful piece of field kit ever invented for field professionals. I could not do my job as a field ecologist without it. THANK YOU TabletEX Gear and Fitek Gear for inventing and selling such an outstanding product, both in terms of utility, design, and quality. THE BEST!

Tablet EX Gear’s Drone Controller Harness

“I’ve been searching for an all-in-one secure and sturdy controller mount that provides ergonomic benefits for my arms + neck and after trying Tablet EX Gear’s ‘Drone Controller Harness’, I won’t ever use the OEM strap again! This system is durable, comfortable and provides support to hold the controller steady so you never need to worry about dropping your controller again! For anyone in the professional drone world, this is a MUST HAVE and has earned its way into my gear kit”

Well made and useful for mining or field work

I started purchasing these Ruxton chest packs in 2021 for use in underground mining. I have purchased and used them for different teams in North and South America. I like that I can bring my equipment and tools in the pack and also store a tablet or small laptop for mapping and inspections. The packs are comfortable to wear for long periods of time (6-8 hours) and the reflective kit works well around heavy equipment. I typically need my hands free when walking or climbing ladders and this pack helps with that also. The only issue I have ever had is when a zipper failed due to excessive dust, but otherwise these cheat packs are a valuable component of my toolkit.

The best Drone controller harness.

The best Drone controller harness.

No more having to set down you controller or hang it at your waist. This mounts securely to a vest and lets you have full view of your controller all while remaining hands free. Full in depth review on the North Wind Aerial youtube channel.

Jervis Pack for skiing

I have used the Jervis pack while skiing on many occasions. I use it to carry my lunch, extra equipment like glove warmers, beverages and phone. The pack is very comfortable, is well made (all the zippers and clips work easily) and is easy to put on and off. So nice to have a pack that sits on chest, so I don’t have to take it off every time I get on the chair lift.
I have also used it for travelling…keeps everything I need literally right in front of me!

Fitek Gear Field Use

Our company uses the Fitek Gear chest packs for forestry field assessments and drone flights and have found them to be an invaluable addition to our equipment. Having the ability to store our tablets, walk in challenging terrain hands free, and easily retrieve the tablet when needed is safer and highly effective. The customer service from Fitek Gear is excellent and we highly recommend their products.

Goodbye Cruiser vest.

I have bought 4 chest packs from Fitek Gear. As forestry surveyors, they have enough room to carry field tools, and they hold our iPad securely, allowing for hands free scrambling over slash. We have been impressed with both the quality, and the customer service. Close your eyes, pay the money, and throw out your outdated poorly fitting cruiser vest.

At Drone Plan Consulting we’ve been…

At Drone Plan Consulting we’ve been using the Fitek Gear harness for our M3E, 350 and 400 controllers for over a year now. I will say that there are many jobs I couldn’t imagine doing without the harness. Get the pouches, we use them for phones, battery packs (to charge controller etc) or even a can of spray paint. Best product! A+

Ruxton Chest Pack for forestry work

TLDR: Best value/use is for those who need to carry a tablet for extended periods and would like a handy place to keep it tucked away while moving between uses. It seems really tough. The material can get really smelly if you sweat in it and get dirty working, and some materials stick to the mesh. This is a very good and useful piece of gear for forestry work, but can’t carry quite as much as a traditional forestry vest. It is very expensive, but mostly seems worth it if used a lot.

I bought a Ruxton chest pack about 8 months or so back, and it has been great so far. I work in forest management but within the conservation side of things, so not focused on timber production, although we do harvests as part of our forest restoration work.

I am not a big fan of the forestry vests or carrying my tablet on a strap around my neck. I was looking into modifying some old military surplus chest rig or something similar for carrying all the gear I use, as well as my first aid/trauma kit. That’s when I stumbled onto this company. This chest pack is not perfect, but it's been wonderful for my uses, and having a purpose-built piece of gear like this can be really handy.

PROS: If you use a tablet of any kind and work outside for extended periods of time, that is where this thing shines! I use a tablet often in remote wooded areas, and having it tucked out of the way but readily available right in front of me is amazing. Plus, it doesn't get as banged up or wet as it would otherwise.
Having my things tied down or attached to me is necessary for what I do. If what I have isn’t tied down physically to me, it will get lost at some point. This pack gives a lot of good options for this. The molle panels on the side are useful and allow a decent amount of options for customization. I have a pouch for my first aid stuff on one side, and on the otherside I use the water bottle pouch they sell mostly for paint cans, and I also have a small pouch to keep my bear spray handy. I have a SOS spot device and a GIS transmitter clipped on the straps. The pockets on the front keep flagging, small notebook and pencil, relascope or prism, maybe my laser rangefinder if I’m not carrying flagging.
You can get this with the Hi-Vis orange outter fabric with reflectors, which is good for hunting season. The rig seems very tough, I work in a temperate rain forest setting and the combination of being wet, muddy, sometimes hot, sometimes cold, with all the scrathcy woody materials (branches, thorns, brush so thick you basically swim through it) that I have move through, in, around, over and under…it absolutely tears clothing and gear apart. This chest pack has held up really well. Had a zipper pull came off, and some of the velcro reflector strips have gotten pretty scrapped up and crunchy, but otherwise its still working great.

CONS: My main complaint - washing. You have to hand wash it. After getting dirty the orange really dulls making it less visible, which doesn’t seem to happen as much to forestry vests, not sure why. Also, because of the synthetic material used, this thing gets really funky, especially in the summertime, so bad, it makes my shirts stink where it makes contact. If it was easier to clean, that’d not be such a problem, but its like washing a framed backpack with extra components inside, just hard to get all the nooks and crannies clean, it’s a cumbersome process and makes your bathtub disgusting. The mesh material gets loaded with little western hemlock needles that are impossible to get out apart from using tweezers to pull them and this is crazy tedious. I just leave them. This might not be an issue for other people, but the woods gets everything very dirty.

Doesn’t quite have the same volume capacity for stuff as a traditional vest, so if you need extra gear you'll need to pair it with a small backpack. I generally take a back pack to carry water, snacks, and tools that don't fit in the vest. A belt with pouches or light tool belt paired with this thing might be where I’m headed for certain projects.
If the front pockets are really loaded up, it can be hard to bend and twist through steep, dense young forests, but not bad. If you have a lot of gear on/in it, it can be kind of a lot of pressure on the back. It’s best not make really heavy if using it for a long time.

One last con - it’s expensive! I use this 7 to 8 out of every 10 days, so for me, so far it seems like it just might be worth it. Hope this helps.

The Harness I didn't know I Needed

I've been using Fitekgear harness since October of 2025. After meeting Brian from Fitekgear at the UAV Commercial Drone Expo in Vegas in September of the same year, and after trying on the Fitek harness, immediately I said I had to have one. Fast forward, I had a 3 day unionized strike event that I had to capture using my drone. Each day I wore the Fitek harness, I never had any discomfort or felt any fatigue as a result of wearing it for long periods of time. The extra padding is very comfortable and I wasn't too hot after wearing it in the sun. Of course that depends on the actual temperature conditions of the day, but overall I felt very comfortable, and wearing the harness gave off a different aura as I had people admiring my set up. Being able to attach and quickly release the controller bracket mounts make it so easy to move around hands free without always needing to have the controller in hand. 1 person even came up to me saying "I can tell you're a professional. I started to take out my drone but when I saw you, I changed my mind". Overall, if you want to mitigate the over use and strain of looking down at your controller while flying your drone, and having to deal with neck fatigue, tightness, or soreness in some cases when the operation requires longer periods in the air, then Fitekgear harness is for you! You won't be disappointed.
