I ordered dressed crab and mixed fish for a birthday event and was upset because the delivery date was missed. It’s no good to me a day late as I have no one here to eat it and I’m unable to get to the shops - so it’s going to be pasta from the cupboard - which is not what I had in mind for a special occasion . The Company blamed DPD and said there was nothing to be done. No compensation of any kind was offered just a verbal shoulder shrug and a begrudging apology. Apparently it’s on the website that they can’t always hit the delivery date.. and it probably is, but well, I think they could do a lot better. I’m going to use another company from now on.

I ordered a whole salmon for Christmas. Having never used this shop before I was a little worried but I couldn’t find a whole salmon for love nor money in the shops. I shouldn’t have worried. It was a beautiful fish. It arrived when they said it would and was beautifully packaged to stay cold and fresh. They also gave us a free lobster bisque oh my wish I lived closer to buy more of it - divine! Very happy customer and I will go back.

I ordered 5 fresh Dover soles for a special family occasion, spent a small fortune. They arrived very well packaged and on the 1 hour delivery window as promised. They were huge, really fresh and absolutely delicious 🤤 everyone praised them. I lightly covered in flour and pan fried in extra virgin olive oil 👌🏽 Money well spent. I’m very surprised to see the bad reviews here.

I orderred lobsters for dillivery on 13/10/23 i asked for a eta only to be told that they are not comeing as theirs a problem with there web site although i i have a comformation on order dont oreder from this cowboy outfit you think your getting lobster for a dinner party and now we will be getting a takaway what disgrace

I looked at the prices on the fish for thought website and was truly shocked, higher than comparable companies who deliver fresh and frozen seafood. Much higher than the price of my local Seafood Shack for fresh seafood and up and up to three or four the price of frozen fish fillets such as hake, cod and haddock that I have purchased from Farmfoods, Aldi and Morrisons. None the less, I love fish and seafood, so placed an order as they claim the fish sold is caught by local Cornish fisherman in local waters. My order was for a cooked lobster, bouillabaisse kit for 2 and a monkfish curry kit for 2. This came to a hefty £71 after a 10% discount. However, as my order was over £65, this came with a free mackerel and romesco sauce to soften the blow. I placed the order only to receive an email straightaway indicating the bouillabaisse was out of stock and my order now, after the 10% discount was for £56.52. I rang Fish For Thought, only to speak to an unhelpful and uninterested woman who just confirmed that there was nothing she could do and as my order was below £65 I would not get the free mackerel. I cancelled the order immediately, but apparently my refund would likely take 7 days. On the Fish For Thought website it is claimed: 'At Fish for Thought we pride ourselves on going the extra mile and doing our best every day, for all of our customers. I am proud of our hard working and dedicated team, all of who care passionately about what we do. Having said that, we are not perfect, and occasionally things do go wrong. What I guarantee, is that when they do go wrong, we will do whatever it takes to make it up to you.' I was disgusted by the attitude of the uninterested woman whom I spoke to at Fish For Thought, which was in stark contradiction to the claim made above. 'We will do whatever it takes to make it up to you' is one of the most empty promises I have ever seen. I am unlikely to order again from Fish For Thought, the customer services is unhelpful at best, and the prices of their fish is higher that the many other alternatives. If I could have awarded one star I would have. I also note on their website, that they are selling Padstow Brewing Co beer 'Lobster Kveik' (4 x 440ml) for £22. This mark up gives an indication of the premium prices that Fish For Thought charge.

It always shows the credibility of a company on their reaction when things go wrong On this scale Fish for thought are the worse My shellfish delivery did not occur at the specified time but the deliverer lied about the time Told on the package if I was not in to leave with concierge who would put in fridge The fish were left outside my flat in a heat of30 degrees so when I returned six hours later ,all fish stinking and destroyed When confronting F for T the next day, no apology and the owner put the phone down on me This shows a failure at every level in this company and I would recommend avoidance and rejection

Have just had our first order from FFT and will definitely be back! We had the Lobster Bisque and the Lobsetr Wellington - both were amazing. The best Lobster we have eaten for a long time. Last night we had the lobster mac.n.cheese - amazing! Everything beautifully packed and so fresh. Can't wait to try more...

Ordered for the first time. Fish was pretty good, but the fish cakes!! Absolutely awful. Totally over salted and I struggled to find any fish in there, just a horrible greenish mash. Ordered 4 and 3 went in the bin.

I received my beautifully packed fish for thought parcel today. Packed full of lovely fish and sauces.!
I think the freezer box is excellent value and I can't wait to get cooking and eating!

I rarely write reviews, but … we’ve just had the freshest and tastiest mussels I’ve tasted in decades. There was almost no wastage and the rest of the meal got side-lined as we were enjoying the mussels so much.
Thank you for a wonderful Mother’s Day meal.

Delivered on time in good condition, tasted absolutely delicious , totally recommended.
The reason 4 star not 5….. at £45 per serving I expected a bigger lobster.

We bought 2 X 2 Lobster Thermador Halves to eat for Boxing Day 2022; the Lobster was delivered on time with no issues, came perfectly wrapped with very easy instructions on how to prepare and cook the Lobster. The quality was extremely high and I would definitely come back and order again from them.

I ordered 2 lots of cooked lobster and Thermidor sauce among other items and was looking forward to my meal of lobster Thermidor but when I had it for dinner the lobster was so hard and chewy I threw it in the bin it has put me off lobster for life and I’ve still got one lobster meat in freezer yet will probably throw that too ,how disapointing and a waste of money I am a pensioner and thought I’d treat myself wish I hadn’t bothered now

The fish was awful, dry and tasteless. The chips were soggy and mushy peas were dry. Avoid this place. A waste of money.

Lobster delivered was again overcooked and tough This is the second time this has happened. So beware and th8nk twice before you orderas there are other suppliers

We received a Christmas gift voucher from a thoughtful relative, who knows we love seafood. Initially, we were shocked by the prices on the website. But as this was a gift, placed our order; frozen raw red prawns, live mussels, and crab meat. The items arrived on Friday; the prawns still frozen... which we thought was a good sign. We cooked some prawns and mussels the day after our delivery. The mussels were simply steamed. They went into the bin, as they were obviously rotten. The frozen prawns, were defrosted, and steamed with salt. Again, they were not fresh. The meat was slightly mushy, and they smelt slightly 'off'....still they were edible. But not a quality product. We can get fresher produce fro our local supermarket. Very disappointed.

We had the best Valentine's day meal ever, not just in a number of years but ever. Dressed to impress crab and lobster wellington was easy to prepare and absolutely delicious. It was delivered frozen, beautifully packaged and with wonderfully clear instructions for cooking.
It is not cheap but it must be some of the best food I have eaten and that includes Michelin starred restaurants and was considerably cheaper than that.

I have placed 4 orders with Fish for Thought to date. From excellent fresh lobster with thermidor sauce (twice), smoked salmon, chalk stream trout and singapore crab claws, to mention a few. Each order of food has been excellent quality and absolutely delicious. I would definitely recommend.

Ordered £300 of lobster and Dover Sole, complete waste of money. Lobster were small and under weight , 3 of 5 Dover sole were frozen, will go to Morrisons next time....Lobster was Ok but Dover sole was an embarrassment , professional chef cooking and rubbish ingredients supplied

Ordered Smoked Haddock, part of a larger order , which on previous orders had been lovely, this time not good at all it was OFF ! really smelled horrible, I was sent a voucher for £25.00 cost of the haddock, that INCLUDED a Whole 50 PENCE goodwill PAYEMENT ! However it had an expiry date of 3 months!!!
