A trustworthy honest efficient plumber with great communication. Gave full details of tap repairs and kept me to up to date so there were no hidden costs at the end. Full transparency quick and friendly service. Will definitely use again and recommend to friends and family
Called these guys out because my boiler kept losing pressure. These guy came out the same day and checked my boiler out. Turns out there was a huge bee that got caught in there causing issues. They serviced my boiler and I was finally able to take a hot shower again! Thank you Anzar & team for an amazing service and for what I realise now was a very competitive rate. Cheers me dear
Totally incompetent, dishonest and wanted cash up front. These people should be in prison.
Charged double what I should have been.
A truly appalling service, lack of ability, incompetence, lack of support and/or sympathy matched with ruthless exploitation and extortionate costs. John Wayne, The High Chaparral and Bonanza have got nothing on this lot. The plumber Joe Ford tried hard but made a series of errors along the way and caused us great unnecessary expense, distress and inconvenience. When I first spoke to him I asked him what was causing the leak. Astonishingly he replied "I dont know, you tell me?" We were quoted 2 hours over the phone at the emergency rate of £234 but the plumber managed to drag the work out to 5 hours. He said it didnt matter how long it took because we were covered by insurance. But that was a guess and he was incorrect. He also left the toilet unattended during which time a 2nd surge of water flooded our toilet floor and went into adjacent rooms damaging the carpet. He broke a toilet and smashed the panelling behind the toilet which they kindly offered to replace but then charged us for it + 2 hours labour. But the water leak/blockage problem was not fixed and our ground floor toilet remains flooded. They did not fix the problem and have caused us extreme distress. We have now been abandoned and been left in a worse situation than before they visited + £1500 out of pocket. Because their didnt fix the problem they should have offered to reimburse the full amount. But to date they haven't offered anything. I will let you know if that situation changes.
Dynorod visited today 13 March 2024 and fixed the same job in 30 minutes at a charge of £180.
Dynorod explained that the blockage was caused by "human waste that had built up and solidified over time."
it was not a nappy as you falsely claim -and it was not after your first visit, it was before. It was nothing to do with the blockage anyway as the Dynorod engineer has already proved.
A sanitary towel had been flushed down the toilet as explained to Joe Ford on his first visit - not afterwards.
The blockage was not caused by a nappy - just stop lying will you. Here is Dynorod case number DY-WO-3962671 - call them and they will verify the blockage description.
You pride yourself on your NO FIX, NO FEE policy - but you have not upheld this claim in our case because you didnt fix anything in fact you caused more damage.
When this review disappears you will know that they have compensated us through their NO FIX, NO FEE policy.
Quoted me to fix my leaking toilet, had to pay £20 to secure appointment, upon arrival I thought I would have the plumber but only got sent another staff who looked like an apprentice, they spent less then 20mins and fitted a new waste pipe, when it come to payment I was charged £180 this is not with the £20 included! First call wanted cash only payments, they do not take bank transfers, When asked for an Invoice I was told I would have to pay extra which totals to an eye watering £230. After going back and forth I finally received an invoice which does not even have the company name First call the invoice instead had an accounting company from Bradford, In the end I paid in cash £180 in total with the added £20 I Paid £200 and advised vat of 40% was not included as good will.
I've had two encounters with First Call Home Services, and both experiences have left me thoroughly disappointed.
First Encounter:
My initial interaction with the company was due to an issue with my hot water. After a brief phone call, they sent a technician, whom I believe was named Shaikh, to assess the problem. He arrived promptly, however, his visit took an unexpected turn when he spent an excessive amount of time criticising the previous plumbing work in my house. Obviously this is not what I had paid him for, my house is not a new build so I am well aware that there is room for improvement. After a an examination of my boiler, he concluded that I needed a new one, he spent all of 15 mins in my home. To my surprise, I managed to resolve the issue on my own by reading the combi boiler manual and simply turning on 'comfort mode', and changing the heating schedule from 'off' to 'auto'.
Second Encounter:
On the 28th of September, I encountered another plumbing issue, this time with the upstairs shower leaking into downstairs kitchen. Desperate and in need of immediate assistance, I first attempted to contact multiple local plumbers listed on the first three pages of Google. Unfortunately, most either declined the job or offered appointments for the following week, leaving me in a bind. Feeling desperate, I reluctantly contacted First Call Home Services as a last resort.
Shaikh quoted £125 for a callout, a 92% increase from the previous visit, citing inflation and van costs as justification. Anyway, it's a free market and my options were limited, so I reluctantly accepted their services. Shaikh and another plumber who I'll call "Bob" arrived, Bob was courteous and professional, I have no bad words for him.The guys said they needed to cut out my kitchen ceiling to access the shower pipes, they said they would send me quote for this work later that same day. Shaikh also requested an additional £35 for a replacement part, bringing the total cost to £160.
At this point, they had spent all of 15 mins in my home. As they were about to leave, I asked shaikh about a future job involving radiator replacement, and Shaikh responded along the lines of "stop worrying about the small stuff, worry about the big stuff first, I know this job more than you, I've been doing it longer than you" .
They then left. I waited until 6PM, and heard nothing from Shaikh. I decided to try again for an emergency plumber. Somebody came out and this guy was able to identify and problem within 5 mins, the shower waste (the thing that drains water) had come loose, just needed some sealant and the screws tightening. He was able to easily access the shower waste just by removing a loose plastic side panel underneath the shower. 10 minutes, job done.
At 19:19, I sent Shaikh a message letting him know that the issue is now fixed, up till this point, I had not received a quote from him, not sure if he wanted me to start chasing. I asked for a refund of the £35 "for parts", Shaikh said he had already bought the parts, and had spent time and fuel to get the parts, e.t.c so would not refund.
Words do not do justice to what followed , long story short, after I told him he could keep the part, I would be writing a review of his services, he started threatening me, saying "I think you are a new comer to this area, we have been here a long time, you shouldn't really be making situations like this for yourself" He later threatened to leak my address, saying "my reply to you with your address will also be very factual, don't worry you will see this, we are part of the land here".
I have a small boy and wife at home, so I really cannot be dealing with hooliganism, I told him if the threats continued , I would be forced to involve the police.
In conclusion, I would not recommend this company to anyone. I personally will not be using their services again, but if you must use them, use as a last resort.
The staff is rude and lacks of respect for the homeowner and the facility. The service is expensive and not worth it at all.
Whilst I had a great service from them 2 years ago, This year is totally the opposite, As the main person has personal things to deal with, and I to have Family commitments, I was told to get a spare set of keys cut, where to get them cut and how much it would cost me, this was because, after the first week of being asked when I was available and me saying when, and then no one turning up or contacting me, however the 2nd week is when,my family commitments kicked up a gear. Then when my Daughter was at mine to pick something up, 2 workmen turned up, with one claiming to be the main guys brother and he was covering. These left, without saying a word to my Daughter, and 2 weeks after the work was apparently completed, and after many texts, to get MY keys and key ring back, I am not getting any reply and this is just adding to my anxiety and stress.
I will NOT use them again, and I will make sure if anything goes wrong in the future, I will tell my landlord to find another company, as these have cost me money and emotional costs. This issue has been going since the 18/07/2023.
Called them out to check our boiler, they identified the problem and what we thought was a small leak turned out to be a major problem for our boiler, none of the previous workman we've had noticed or checked for this issue.
Plumber couldn't even figure out hot/cold connections of existing shower-mixer valve correctly and advised on buying a wrong type of mixer with inverted hot/cold connections. On top of that, billed me call-out charges, with no job done; No words!!
John and Zak were very professional and courteous.made a great job of windows would recommend to anyone
