Happy customers

This is the third time we have bought a fireplace from Fireworld Torquay (3 different houses over the years!) The service we have received has been brilliant from selection in the shop, advice from the very experienced team to the fitting of the fireplace. We are extremely happy and would recommend them highly.

Would highly recommend fireworld

Would highly recommend fireworld! The man in the shop was v helpful in advising us of which stove would fit in our fireplace. He then came out to the house and did a survey and we had the stove fitted approx 3 weeks later. The guys who came to fit were great. No mess. Explained how to work the stove and left us a co alarm and a fire glove and tool to open the stove. Great job. No complaints!

The shop owners are devoid of customer…

The shop owners are devoid of customer care skills.
Had to get the fire manufacturer to repair my fire in the end after firstly spending £160 on a service by Fireworld.
Fireworld couldn't organise ordering the part needed, and wouldn't have arranged to return to fit either.
Expensive lesson learnt. Go to the fire manufacturer or British Gas Appliance Repair. Both had the resources and the time to repair in the same week, and are cheaper.

Brilliant Experience

We had visited several retailers looking for an electric fire and eventually chose Fireworld Torquay to supply and fit. The price they quoted was competitive and the installation charges fair. They kept us informed of the delivery date and then arranged an installation time at our convenience. The fitters were brilliant, a couple of lads from the North East who completed the installation with a smile, gave us a few useful tips
and importantly cleaned up the mess and took all the debris and waste away with them. Brilliant!

Our beautiful Fire and surround

From entering the shop to final fitting has been First class.The fitters had to extend the wall where everything was going and re plaster and have done a fantastic job so neat and tidy. They cleared up after themselves brilliantly. They even hid all the electric cable behind the skirting board right up to the socket so no cable anywhere brilliant idea. Our new surround and fire lok beautiful you would never know it was electric so pleased with the whole experience fab service thank you all.

New Gas Fire. Excellent advice and service from sales staff throughout. Fitters turned up on time, and were both efficient and careful. Competitive overall price offered. Cannot fault the experience.

Very dissatisfied with new fire

Very dissatisfied with new fire. Tenant phoned Fireworld Torquay initially to say flames were bunched and an engineer came over and poked with a screwdriver, but same problem. Phoned to discuss afterwards and Steve lost the plot, shouting down the phone - very bullish. I sent a photo and email on 12th July asking if it could be made any better, since the flames were blue and the overall look was like a fireball, rather than spread out. Received nothing back, just the final invoice today. Resent email today, lady in accounts lovely and helpful but Steve said he’d never seen such lovely orange flames (seems customer never correct). This is going nowhere and I am forced to pay the bill but I feel absolutely 100% ripped off by this company. From the point of order I was told I had an “illegal” cowl on the chimney, they would supply one for £100 and knock off £100 from the cost of the fire. We were lead to believe that we were getting a bespoke made top of the range fitted fire, complete with remote control and it would give out a lot of heat. What arrived was nothing like what was promised. Very disappointed. No remote control for our OAP tenant

Fireworld Torquay After Sales Care hopeless

I purchased a stove from Fireworld Torquay and this was installed on 14th January 2022. The sales persons were very helpful at that time. After less than one month the paint was coming off the handle onto our hands and so reported this to the Torquay branch by phone on 22nd February and again on 19th March.
In April I visited the store to enquire for the third time. They always said something would be done but nothing happened.
Late May of this year I contacted the makers of the stove Charlton and Jenrick direct and they replied that a spare part was on it's way as this should not have worn away like this in the space of 1 month.
Therefore I believe Fireworld Torquay are absolutely useless in after sales care.

You would have more chance of getting an appointment with the Pope, at Christmas than getting anywhere with these muppets!

I have been trying to get Fireworld UK Ltd out to repair and service my Gazco Studio 1 Gas fire since 10th November 2017. It is now 20th December 2017. They use a guy based in Torquay. You would have more chance of getting an appointment with the Pope, at Christmas than getting anywhere with these guys.

Let me explain, I rang Fireworld in Torquay on numerous occasions, but never managed to speak to anyone, I eventually spoke to Paul in their Exeter branch to see if a mains conversion was available for our 2013 Gazco Studio 1 fire. I had to ring back 3 days later to check if the part was available, it was. He suggested I contact their self employed installer based in Torquay. I did this on 15th November in a mobile phone message. I heard nothing so contacted Fireworld on 25th November, they said they would ring when the part arrived. They didn't. Steve was going to call me to make an appointment. He didn't.
13/12/17 I rang Paul in Fireworld and Steve and asked if they would contact me. Steve rang back saying that he could service and repair the fire on 19th or 20th December and as as gesture of goodwill would include the part free of charge. I sent Steve a text asking which of the two days specified he would call and how much the service would cost. He did not reply. On 20th December, I got a call from Paul at Fireworld stating that the earliest Steve could make an appointment was now 28th December. Life is too short for this level of muppetary. I have arranged to get a proper, reliable, local heating engineer out to service and repair the fire.
