Avoid Fina Money at All Costs

I am leaving this review to warn others about my terrible experience with Fina Money. Everything about this company feels deceptive from start to finish. They make impressive promises about helping people manage or improve their finances, but once they have your information or payment, the reality is completely different. Their representatives are friendly at first, but once you start asking real questions or try to follow up, communication stops completely.

After signing up, I was charged unexpected fees that were never clearly explained. When I tried to reach out to customer service, I either received automated responses or no reply at all. It became clear that they have no intention of actually providing the services they advertise. Instead, they seem focused on collecting money and then disappearing behind vague excuses and broken promises.

What’s worse is how unprofessional and inconsistent their communication is. Every email or message feels copy-pasted, and no one takes responsibility for the issues. I also found multiple reports from other customers describing the exact same experience, which only confirms that this is a pattern — not an isolated case.

If you’re thinking about using Fina Money, please reconsider. There are plenty of legitimate financial service providers out there, but this one is not one of them. I lost both time and money dealing with them, and I would hate for anyone else to go through the same situation. This company should be investigated for misleading and unethical practices.

Avoid Fina Money at all costs. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and potential financial loss.

Must-try Financial Tracker

Best financial tracking options all at one place, migrated from Notion's workflow. I really appreciate the option to customize new pages as per user tracking needs and financial goals.

Great Mint Upgrade, Outstanding Customer Service

When I realized that Mint was defunct and I had lost all my Mint data because I didn't download it soon enough, I was unhappy and went looking for replacements. I trialed Fina and Monarch Money. Monarch Money has the more polished look, but Fina is overall much better I think. I didn't trial Monarch for long because I was so happy with Fina. It is highly customizable, and being actively developed, I think it will be even better in a few years. Monarch Money feels like "This is how you ought to organize your finances" whereas Fina feels like "Here are the tools for you, go use them to organize your finances however you like!" Fina also has outstanding tech support via chat message. I asked them tons of questions, often late at night, and got helpful and accurate answers within anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, usually closer to minutes than hours. The interface has a few glitches and unintuitive aspects, but the excellent customer support more than makes up for it.

Monarch was unable to autocategorize many of my transactions. (I may just not have been using it right, I only tried Monarch for less than an hour.) Whereas Fina could autocategorize most of them.

Fina has a longer free trial period than Monarch (two weeks versus one I think), long enough to really dig into the features before deciding whether to go forward with a subscription. Canceling autorenew during the free trial period is easy. It defaults to renew at the end of the trial period but you can cancel it with no extra hoops to jump through.

Fina is working on integrating AI into its whole platform. It's pretty half-baked now, but I'm looking forward to what it can do when it's more fully developed.

The price for Fina is extremely good. Around $50 per year paid annually or $5 per month paid monthly, about half the price of Monarch and cheaper than some of the other services that I looked at but didn't trial. I like that they are paid rather than completely free though, I'd rather pay them directly than have their main business model be selling my data or serving me ads.

I also really like the aesthetic of Fina. So many websites these days are bloated and overly flashy. (CookUnity, my prepared meal service, though otherwise excellent, is a prime example.) Fina is has a nice aesthetic without being bloated or overly flashy. The information is displayed densely enough to satisfy a math PhD like me. But you can still spiff up the looks, for instance by assigning custom emojis to each category. Customizing categories and subcategories is also quite easy, and there are tags in addition to categories, so each item can have a category plus a tag so you can slice and dice your data in different ways. For instance, using a category for the type of spending (food, lodging, transportation) and the tag to lump it all under Winter 2024 trip to Florida.

More than all that, using Fina I feel like I'm part of a social movement almost. I've looked at some of the creator's posts on Reddit and poked around their website, and it's clear that their small team is passionate about what they're doing. I love supporting a small startup and am looking forward to seeing them grow and shine. Fina has my highest recommendation.

The Best Finance App for Multi-Currency Users

I’ve tried a bunch of finance apps like Monarch and YNAB, but Fina Money is by far the best. It looks great, easy to use, and has tons of customizable templates for different needs.

The best part? It actually supports multiple currencies and automatically converts them. None of the other apps I tried could do that! If you have bank accounts in different currencies, this is a lifesaver.

Also, their customer support is amazing. I expected an AI bot when I clicked the chat icon, but a real person answered in under 5 minutes and fixed my issue right away.

Highly recommend!

The financial software I’ve been searching for…

Fina has been the software I’ve been looking for. The developers are constantly improving the functionality but it already does so much more than other well known financial products. It’s intuitive workflow makes it easy to create reports and see right where my budget is. Thanks Fina team for a great product!

Great for small businesses!! Responsive team.

I'm running a small business and as many new businesses do I mixed my personal and business finances pretty heavily for the first year or so. Eventually I started to get a bit more organized, but even so I had hundreds of transactions to sort through with no system in place whatsoever. Fina has rules in place plus AI to sort through even the most disorganized users finances ie. me. I separated out personal and business expenses, got some awesome insights into where money is being spent, made cool visualizations that automatically update. I don't know the team behind Fina but when I reached out about something it was a real person, plus they have a form to submit requests for features, and bugs. Not the first financial software I have tried, I definitely recommend them!!
