Website for trading stocks is terrible

Website for trading stocks is terrible. It takes me 5-6 tries to sign in, then I often get kicked out. Very frustrating, especially with 3 accounts, I can waste a 1/2 hour every day. Too bad because other than that I like it. Switching to a different company

I had a terrible experience with…

I had a terrible experience with Fidelity. My retirement benefits, which were originally with another group, got transferred to Fidelity without my consent.
Now, I try to access my account online, and they say that they can't give me access to my account because of my phone number. The phone number that I have been using for the last 9 years has been working without any problems.

I have had a terrible experience with their customer service. Who claims that they cannot do anything to help me.

I don't recommend this company because they don't use reason when dealing with their customers.

Literally inaccessible customer service

Literally inaccessible customer service. Called, they said volume was high and hungup. Messaged online, and they said I need to call. When I said I tried that, after a few seconds they immediately pasted "We have not heard from you in some time. Would you like to continue the chat?" and ended the chat.

Buggy ID verification / accounts blocked for no reason

I have been a happy customer of Fidelity Investments since 2011. Recently, I made two relatively small domestic wire transfers to my own business (consulting for government institutions). Both transfers were reviewed and I had to provide information about them as well as verify my identity.

Fidelity's identity verification using a mobile phone to make a photo of and ID and a selfie doesn't work on my Samsung ZFold 5. The first time, the agent used an alternative identity verification method using questions instead. The second time I had to verify my transfer, the agent (a different one, I assume) ignored my explanation that I am getting an error on my phone and acted as I were a scammer or do not wish to verify my identity. Eventually I asked to talk to a supervisor, who similarly dismissed the technical issue.

My accounts were placed under review. I was told that there are concerns about my transfers being linked to a crypto scams and that I somehow violated the terms of service. While I provided documentation for my transfer (company paperwork, business account verification), my explanation that I transferred funds to my business account were framed as a mere claim. I was allowed to move my funds to my Chase account; they asked me if my Chase account is still open, as if Chase might have a reason to close my accounts.

My Fidelity accounts were restricted and "under review" for more than a month, despite them telling me the review would take up to five days. I was ready to file a complaint with FINRA.

When I made my final attempt to resolve the issue amicably over the phone, Fidelity told me that everything looks good with my accounts and they see no reason or record why there were restricted. They said that only the person who restricted my accounts know this. They unblocked my accounts.

TLDR:
* Fidelity is using a mobile identify verification method that doesn't work with all cell phones (like my ZFold 5)
* The agent may refuse to use an alternative identity verification for a wire transfer
* Wire transfers to your own business account are not safe with Fidelity
* Their agents may retaliate if you have a technical issue with their preferred identity verification method and/or act based on their personal prejudices or preferences and block your accounts
* There may be no practical recourse in the short term

The best professional investment Company in the USA

My husband and I have several online investment accounts at Fidelity and a significant growth over 12 / 36 years.

Especially the so called “Fidelity go Account” ( fidelity semi automated managed investment account) brought us substantially growth. Anytime we have a call with one of their agents, it feels like we talk to professionals and not to another call center agent like now a days. Any young person including our kids we recommend investing early into one of the Fidelity products. I have other smaller investment accounts at different investment companies as well and I recommend highly fidelity due to their easy management interface. That said, check out their online investment tool which is the most intuitive to navigate if found. Make your Owen experience and get more knowledgeable since you should have the best investment of your future. I am so happy that this excellent privat investment company exists and got introduced to me by my husband. If I would be 30 years younger I would definitely persue a career at Fidelity investments since their positive wipe swaps over.🙂😃

Terrible communication

Fidelity is running on ancient systems. With all the advancement in technology you can expect delays and almost no transparency. Every rep including a supervisor gives different information. Utterly disappointed!

Total incompetence

Called to ask if I could buy a particular ETF with Fidelity they checked with the “back office” and said yes I could.

I transferred over $200,000 and tried to purchase the etf and it said I could not. I called and they said I cannot buy it at Fidelity! Unbelievable!

Who would trust their money with these people? They hire a bunch of kids to answer the phone!

The website and tools tend to give misleading advice.

I have given this firm decades to prove themselves. It's true that there are low costs and various tools. But I feel very mis-led by their tools. Everytime I take an advice about a new stock, I lose money. Very frustrating. So I don't think it is honest or dependable.
And for owned, existing stocks when they are strongly saying to "buy", those too seem to plunge down.
I would say you need to be very knowledgeable how to use, interpret or work with Fidelity and their website and tools because they are not straightforward.
I even opened a CD through Fidelity with a major bank and learned by a chance visit to my local Fidelity Center that the CD was pre-maturely closed a few months before the original maturing date. Couldn't believe it.
I tend to sell my stocks now and leave in the Cash section for safety.
Very disappointed.

ERRORS WERE MADE

I have been a customer of Fidelity for over 25 years. They botched a rollover for my son and I decided to move a 401k out of Fidelity due to this error. I still had a couple of IRAs there. I just moved one, they would not make the check out to the new company. The withheld taxes on a rollover! It required another call to get a check for the taxes. To date, I still have not received it. I finally asked to move my last account and I am done with this investment firm. I worked in the industry and have moved, liquidated and made transactions with several investment firms over the years. Fidelity is the only one that screwed up not once, but three times. Watch them and your money.
