In April 2022 I had a full replacement heating system to include new boiler and copper pipes in my 1920’s house. Competitive quote from Matthew who was very knowledgeable in helping me decide best heating system for my property. 3 months down the line, all working as it should with no problems. Would highly recommend. Great team of guys all highly experienced in their field and good customer service on the administrative side being able to speak to a person and not a machine in a call centre.

Money for Nothing and Leaks for Free
I asked Matthew from Ferngas for a quotation on a replacement boiler. He duly obliged but said to wait, even though he knew we needed said boiler as he believed he could get funds from the government initiative. this proved false but nonetheless we carried on.
What was described and priced as a 2 man job over 3 days was actually a 1 man for 3 days and 1 for half a day. The workmanship was shoddy at best. i was left with a new nest system that i had to ask the controller to be tidied up, had exposed areas around the control panel looking very bad. i then had to clean the floor area and furnishings underneath that casually had filler scattered on them. why not just move a them?
this though was minor when you consider the rest it only gets worse.
i was left with radiators that did not work, with a pipe that failed, because they had not secured it in any way, and consequently leaked everywhere. The area was left in a shabby state with dirt and waste material discarded behind closed doors. The flue is lop sided, the roofer used ladders and walked across the roof, potentially damaging tiles and battens; with no safety protocol.
i am at a loss as to how you can drain and then flush a system without checking and opening all valves.
when asked to repair the leak I arrange a time for the engineer. He failed to show at the agreed time and i was told to take time off work for them to try and attend again. Customer service surely involves fixing your own mistakes at the customers convenience.
Because i complained about the lack of support they are now refusing to support, which is itself ironic.

We purchased our boiler from FernGas some years ago.
They send us a reminder when the service date is due and after a phone call by us they come and service the boiler at a time and date to suit us.
They are always on time and do a very good job.
They have also replaced a radiator in our bathroom for us which was a trouble free experience.
We would have no problem in recommending their sales or service departments.

The service was the thing that swayed us to use FernGas as Mattthew who came out to us was the ONLY person to take the time and look around the house and fully explain the works and what it would involve. 5* customer service, highly recommended!
