Seems to me this FakeSpot analyzer is simply bogus. Just take a look - 2 identical earbuds, one is in black and rated 'F', and another one in white rated 'B'. Both earbuds have same 207 reviews. See... See more

Don't forget
Don't forget, Fakespot does NOT rate the product, just the posted reviews about the product.
If people understood how many reviews…
If people understood how many reviews got SCRUBBED by amazon. They would have better math too ;)
Fakespot has something seriously wrong…
Fakespot has something seriously wrong with their algorithm for determining what is and is not a fake review. Its ironic that a service that is supposed to detect BS is also full of it.
There are tons of examples in the reviews here and I agree with all of them. Fakespot is a waste of time and a pain for honest sellers to have to explain to their customers why their Fakespot rating is poor.
Go away Fakespot.
I’m sorry that I ever recommended it....
I used to use it because I trusted it, but I think they’ve started to fake their own analysis. Ironic. Looked up a gaming headset that had nothing, but 4 and 5 star reviews. Literally zero 1, 2, or 3 star reviews. Adjusted FakeSpot rating: 1.5 stars. My math isn’t great, but....
Calling you out Fakespot, Fakespot grade = F
This company is BS, I used to use it a lot on third party items then I tried on items sold by amazon and they were getting C's and D's then I tried products that is good that Amazon (the seller) don't need to give away to get reviews like Apple product...Here are some of the grade they gave for their products:
iPhone 6 = C (sold by Amazon)
MacBook Air = D (sold by Amazon)
Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS = B (sold by Amazon)
Canon 24-70 f/2.8L IS = C (sold by Amazon)
Sony a7 III = D (sold by Amazon)
Canon 5D mk II = C (sold by Amazon)
I used to be a professional photographer and have all these listed lens and camera and they are 5 stars and it doesn't make sense for any of these company, Amazon/Apple/ Canon/Sony to give away thousands of dollars for a 5 stars review.
These products are the gold standard that is used by professionals that have great reviews from professional forums and used by almost all professionals in the wedding and portrait photography industries. Even Nikon camera user agree that Canon lens are above Nikon lens. Fakespot is BS and I will no longer use their services.
Amazon makes so much money, they don't need to give Apple, Canon or Sony products to get good review nor do Apple, Canon, or Sony need to give them away to get those reviews.
Fake news!
Just to test it out, I had it analyze an Apple iPad’s reviews. A D? Really? I’m sure there may be some fake reviews of Apple products, both positive and negative. But with the number of reviews that Apple gets, I believe it’s highly unlikely that there are enough to warrant a grade of “D”. Don’t waste your time.
Who is behind Fakespot?
Who is behind Fakespot? Where is the "About Us" on their website? How can you trust someone not to be FAKE which does not give up their TRUE identity?
Great name but NOT at all convinced about the ethics behind the name! And I know for sure way too many wrong ratings (both too good and too bad)to believe in their "methodology" which actually sounds "pretty vague" (to be polite), or as they say:
"Our proprietary technology analyzes millions of product reviews, looking for suspicious patterns and incentivized reviews. We then weed out the reviews we think are unreliable"
Proprietary technology... how does it work? You don't have to give away any "State secrets" but what does this mean? Sounds fancy but can be anything... or nothing... at all! Proprietary technology can mean how you clean your keyboard differently from everyone else!
"weed out the reviews we think are unreliable"... How? Based on what? Do you just weed out those that are competing with your own products? Because we have absolutely no idea who you are. Or do you weed out those that are competing with the products that pay you NOT to weed out their reviews that are unreliable?
Sorry but Fakespot has shown me absolutely nothing to believe Fakespot is NOT the most FAKE of all!
I sell a product on Amazon with 116…
I sell a product on Amazon with 116 completely natural, independent reviews. I have sold well over 2,000 units since this product was launched in April, 2015. Of the 116 reviews, 86% are 5-star reviews, 6% are 4-star reviews, 6% are 3-star reviews, 1% are 2-star reviews, and 1% are 1-star reviews. This is, by all measures, a great product... and its success has earned it, and therefore my brand's credibility, a FakeSpot "F" rating. This is pure garbage and this company should be sued and held accountable for the misinformation it spreads. Awful. There *are* great products in the world, though not all of our products are great. It is interesting to see that all these other products have "A" and "B" ratings - simply because they as not great and folks have said so. More garbage. This website/company should be shut down by the Feds.
I love the idea of a fake-ad spotter
I love the idea of a fake-ad spotter, but looking closely at the reviews of items of the same type (wifi extenders) that receive the same grades (C) on Fake Spotter, I was dismayed. I found the reviews for one item thoughtful, complex, personal and quirky while the other has off the cuff, often limited to three of four words and repetitive ("as expected " or "great buy" and nothing else) Why the same grade? Since this happened with other product reviews graded by them, I decided to simply give up on Fakespot and trust my own instincts.
How do they actually 'test' their system? I mean, what controls do they have?
I am a consumer rather than a seller…
I am a consumer rather than a seller but I am infuriated enough with Fakespot to review it here. One way I can absolutely tell they are messed up is that often the same product in two different serving sizes will get an F in one size and an A in the other. Furthermore, I wonder who is watching the watchers? It would seem to be very easy for companies to pay Fakespot to uprate their products. I am done using it as of now.
Very unreliable result from this…
Very unreliable result from this website. I’ve seen many fake/ paid reviews for products on Amazon and it still gives A rating. One listing has more than 200 five star reviews in ONE day (simply just impossible) still have A rating on fakespot website. What a laugh!
Fakespot is FAKE
Fakespot is FAKE.
They claim to be able to tell if a website has legit reviews or not. Their software does nothing of the sort. I've tested it on various companies and have talked with companies about the reviews - of people who run the companies and they claim that the rating is bogus.
This company isn't providing any value or service to society. What a waste of time.
Fakespot is a screwed up mess
Fakespot is a screwed up mess. I think they had good intentions at least at one time but they either have the most screwed up algorithms or else they have turned evil and are doing things for money. Either way, you can not continue to slander honest people and companies the way they do by getting things wrong whether on purpose for money or simply because they are a screwed up mess. I see a Class Action Lawsuit in the works for this company and that is a shame because there is a need for a service like this but it has to be more accurate than theirs.
Fakespot is a steaming pile.
Unbelievable.
As a small biz owner and new Amazon seller with only 8 ratings, I personally know each and every reviewer that has posted. Each user and review is 100% legit - yet Fakespot in its AI wisdom delivers an F.
This tool is a detriment to the consumers it claims to be helping and delegitimizes honest manufacturers and sellers.
evaluation algorithm is very poor
I am seller on amazon and I can say I am one of honest seller. I dont pay for fake rewies and I know my competitors who pay for fake reviews. It would be very useful if Fakespot worked, but I can say with great responsibility that rating the quality of Amazon reviews is VERY inaccurate. Some of our products have a D rating (A is the best and F is the worst), and some of the biggest scammers have A or B ratings.
Used evaluation algorithm is very poor and honest seller has no way to complain wrong rating. Currently Fakespot helps fraudsters and hurts honest sellers. Perhaps it will change sometime in the future.
Don't trust the 1 star reviews here, they are written by people who got an F grade on their product.
Very strange that there are wildly different reviews here about Fakespot.com??? That's because all the 1 star reviews are from companies who got an F grade on their product page for fake reviews. Fakespot.com is amazing, every time Fakespot gives an F...it lines up with the 1 star reviews of the product (5 star reviews are faked).
It's very simple to spot fake reviews. Click on the RAVING 5 star reviews on Amazon, which strangely include tons of photos (who the heck takes photo of their products the buy and upload them to Amazon, honestly? Do YOU?...fake.
Then click on the one star reviews and see if the product broke after 1 minute and that they were offered money/free product for giving a 5 star review.
Then run it through Fakespot.com, then you'll know if the 5 star reviews are real.
Ignore the fake 1 star reviews here.
I'm an Amazon seller and we never used…
I'm an Amazon seller and we never used any paid reviews for our products on Amazon (unlike many other sellers).
Our products always had an "A" review grade on Fakespot and I thought that was absolutely right because indeed 100% our product reviews are coming from our genuine customers. Today I came across the website and just checked our product review grades again and all of sudden the review grades became C, D, and F!
I know that this is not true because again, we never use any paid reviews for our products! Definitely, something went wrong with this company. I messaged them to correct the review grades for our products on their website but haven't heard from them yet. It is really sad that this company is no longer reliable.
I formerly trusted Fakespot
I formerly trusted Fakespot. However, I just looked at a Kindle book with four 5-star reviews. All looked fake. The English was broken, and the the reviews were either somewhat nonsensical or irrelevant to a "how to" book. One review mentioned how engaging the cast of characters were for a book that has no characters. My best guess is that the fake reviewer is just recycling a review.
I ran this suspect book's URL through Fakespot and it rated it an "A".
I now feel I cannot trust Fakespot any longer. In reading other Trustpilot feedback, it's a shame reputable sellers are getting low rankings when obvious fakers get top ranking.
I guess I am back to manually vetting reviews. Grrrrr!
I used to use fakespot before every…
I used to use fakespot before every Amazon purchase. Now the reviews are from the same day or from the future. For instance "TowelSelections Women's Robe Turkish Cotton Terry Kimono Bathrobe Made in Turkey
581 Total Reviews" and they had a total of 581 reviews from 2/14/2019. Giving the product a D rating. There was no reviews from 2/14/2019. So sad that fakespot doesn't keep up with their business.
