Once in a lifetime experience
Going on a safari is a once in a lifetime experience that was on my bucket list for a long time. We visited in June, that is considered a winter there but we were lucky with the weather, just enough rain to make the scenery beautiful green but not disturbing our stay. The temperature was good both for safari and beach visit. Joshua the tour operator organized our visit perfectly, meeting all our expectations. He suggested to see different parks with different wildlife characteritics (Naiwasha and Masai Mara) and we found it a good balance for our 3 nights stay. We were a family of 6 and our tour guide made sure that we could see all the animals in the Masai Mara, had to chase the leopard for a bit longer, but at the end we made it😄. We stayed at the beautifil Ashnil Mara Camp right by the Mara river, where we could hear the crocodiles all night, but the presence of the lodge guards was reassuring enough that we are safe😄. Our original plan was to spend the rest of the holiday in Zanzibar, but we were convinced to stay in Diani beach on the Kenyan side, and we did not regret it! It is less touristic than Zanzibar but the beaches are simply amazing. The coast is fit also for young children, the water is not deep and protected by a coral reef from big sea animals. And on the wide white sandy beaches you can walk down even till Tanzania, if you want. We stayed in Diani Sea Resort, that catered for all our needs. The hotel is right on the beach and runs one of the best kitchens on the south coast. If you prefer a more private stay, fully equipped bungalows are available, where the private chef will prepare you the food of your choice. If your choice is seafood, that comes fresh out of the sea in the morning to your table.
In case Africa is on your bucket list, don’t hesitate, you will not regret it! And I can highly recommend Explore East Africa to be your guide in organizing your unforgettable visit.
