I recently completed the Level I Polar Preparation Course in the Jura, and it was an absolutely excellent experience. Led by Olivier Bourcet and Expéditions Unlimited, this 3-day program is perfect for anyone looking to gain true autonomy in extreme conditions.

Olivier is a fantastic leader whose depth of experience is evident in every lesson. The training is incredibly practical, covering everything from the precise organization of your pulka to essential "field hacks" like managing gear while wearing heavy mitts. We also took a deep dive into cold management, safety protocols, and even the mental preparation required for isolation.

The highlight of the course was the two-day autonomous trek, where we had to put our skills to the test. From navigating to managing a bivouac and using stoves, the hands-on experience was invaluable.

I highly recommend this stage to anyone serious about polar travel. Thank you, Olivier, for a professional, challenging, and inspiring three days!

J’ai connu Olivier Bourcet en Himalaya, et nous étions ensemble 3 jours en février dans le Jura pour un stage de préparation aux expéditions polaires.
Le partage de ses expériences au Groenland en skis de randonnée/pulka m’a permis de parfaitement appréhender mon propre voyage de mars prochain dans cette région.
En effet, la transmission de son savoir était exhaustive et extrêmement précise, du petit équipement qui fait la différence à -30°C, aux astuces d’organisation qui rendent l’aventure tellement plus agréable.
2 jours / 1 nuit sur le terrain m’ont permis de mettre en application tout ce savoir tout frais, pour partir sereinenement à l’aventure.

I met Olivier Bourcet in the Himalaya, and we were together in February in the Monts Jura for a 3 days winter training for polar expeditions.
Sharing his experiences in Greenland on ski/pulka has given me a perfect understanding of my own trip to this region next March.
Indeed, the transmission of his knowledge was exhaustive and extremely precise, from the small equipment that makes the difference at -30°C, to the organizational tips that make the adventure so much more enjoyable.
2 days / 1 night on the field allowed me to apply all this fresh knowledge, to set off on an adventure with peace of mind.

A unique experience where you will be taught the first steps about trekking in the snow. Everything is carefully explained by very experienced guide.
The first day is a theoretical session where you will learn all the experiences and tips from an expert. Day 2 and 3 you go out to practice. Afterwards, short feedback.
Participated with my wife and tastes like more!

Combination of snow kiting and manhauling covering ca 500km. No super athlet needed, but some stammina. Although the landscape is quite „stable“, the differences in the scenery are, due to changing weather, extrem. Take light T-shirts and desert hats as well as down-trousers, face mask and expedition gloves. Experience the joy of pulling your sledges for 8 hours a day, or devouring 60km of distance by snowkiting. Go for it!!!!

Je viens de participer au stage de ski-site sur le plateau d'Hardangervidda encadré par Dixie Dansercoer.
Je recommande ce stage pour quiconque veut progresser à 2 niveaux : ski-kite et expérience en environnement grand froid.
