Data-Harvesting
I filled on my information online via a broker. Gave Evlo access to my bank via open banking and was “provisionally approved” over the weekend for £5,000 and bombarded with text messages about it and how my local branch would be in touch.
Contacted me today, asking me the same information they already had from me filling in the form and open banking, but the agent asked me information about my home and living arrangements. It is complicated due to me being a live-in, part time carer for a family member but told him the average rent I pay, where he (in not so many words) called me a liar and said he didn’t believe the figures I gave him. He told me to phone back when I had the figure and he’d reconsider.
Hung up the phone and sent me a text and email saying I could not be approved for a loan.
My living arrangements and average rent have never been an issue with any financial institution over the last four years it’s been like this. But from reading the other reviews here, seems as if Evlo are just data-harvesting from forms and open banking, with the promise of being approved, and then turning people down for loans. I don’t know why we needed to go through my data over the phone considering it was filled in on a form, and confirmed with open banking. Definitely something fishy here.

Pre approved my loan, then made me take part in half a dozen phone calls over the corse of 2 days, only to change there terms in the final call doubling the interest rate and increasing the sum that I wanted to lend. Used bamboo loans and got a better interest rate than initially offered by Evlo and had the money within 2 hours of submitting the application.
Absolutely laughable all round. Scammer level business model and service. Only reason you would use this company is either total desperation or not shopping around.

The support, and guidance was motivating. I was able to get the loan that l requested for approved.
The staff (Dan) was really helpful as l was finding it difficult to seek consent from my bank through my mobile phone app. He attended to me well and he was very supportive.

They constantly email you saying you’ve been accepted but then once they call you often get someone that doesn’t speak same language. I then got put to someone else days later to be told can’t get a loan they said at the start they try everything well my call wasn’t even 5 mins and felt they weren’t interested in even trying don’t waste time It’s high APR as well try somewhere that value you.

Preying on vulnerable households and inflicting high APR charges then threatening with court when they struggle to make repayments.
AVOID, unless you want to pay waaaaay back more than you borrow.

It was very good indeed the staff that served me was very accommodating and very understanding with my frustration with this loan application. Though it took a while to finalise this loan application I will say that it was worth it in the end!, this was the Enfield branch that eventually dealt with my application. So over all this company and the Enfield branch that dealt with my application did with the type service I would expect from any business it was done with face to face rather than AI or online interaction old school style this is rare type of service and I didn't think it still existed but this company/ Enfield branch done that for me. I would defo recommend them to anyone who truly want the customers well being truly!!!.
