We are British couple who had a very good experience cycling (self guided) along the Danube from Scharding to Vienna with Eurobike. I see only a few negative reviews here and wonder about the expectations these people had because we thought we got what we were promised. The planning, staff and communication were good, and there were options e.g transfer back at the end, extra hotel nights, rental bikes. Parking our car free at the Eurobike headquarters near Schärding was a bonus. Daily luggage transfer and our transfer back to our beginning point went perfectly. Hotels were more than adequate and we appreciated their variety (several were small, unique, family run), their bike storage, their hearty breakfasts and their welcoming staff. Of course the trip costs more than if you organised it yourself but we think it’s worth paying for the ease of being provided with a route (that prioritises bike routes and clearly states the distance/difficulty level and is provided on an app), for having hotels that are selected because they welcome bikers and are conveniently located, and for having our luggage transferred. There were some constructive suggestions we had a for the company at the end of the trip which we felt they listened to in their desire to improve themselves.
