Beware the QR code scam

Used a car parking machine in Wakefield City Centre to find that I didn't pay their merchant a few quid via the QR code I scanned. I seemed to have put my email etc into this load of shysters website. As I don't park there very often I didn't think anything of it, it doesn't advertise itself on that screen as a gamer service. Thankfully Halifax have intervened.

One star as I cant give no stars!

This is another car park scam (first time i have heard of this)I was trying to download the car park app on my phone but had problems and was told there were technical problems. I then used the phone number and finally managed to pay forc a days parking at the station. This morning found that these people were going to take £39.99 from my account. My bank are cancelling the transaction but I am now waiting for a new card.

Reported to ActionFraud and Which? consumer group as we are members and they do a good job raising awareness of these scams

I woke up this morning to a text from my Bank. Thank goodness for their system
I had begun to register with Freecycle. So many pop ups on that site! Thought I was giving Freecycle my details, realised it was one of those pop ups and stopped the process. But they got enough details to scam me £39.99 this morning. Well the bank was on it and they didn't get my money. Beware people of this theiving company.

Scam merchants & theives

Absolute charletons and crooks, !

18th of July I was in a NCP car park. NCP have QR codes on display so you can download their app to pay for your parking. I scanned the QR code entered my credit card details on what was a very convincing representation of an NCP WEB Page and was redirected to the website owned by these crooks which looked like an official NCP car parking web page. They tried to take£39.99 from my account but luckily my bank spotted and stopped it.

As a result of this I don't have use of my credit card for the next week while I wait for a replacement, how can you possibly trust the company that' resorts to such underhand tricks to take money from your card for products that you didn't want that you didn't order after having been tricked to give your card too.

In fact how could you even trust this company if you went directly to their website to deliver you a product that might actually work?

Reported this to Action fraud, part of the National Crime Agency so hopefully these despicable people we get the just desserts a long prison sentence!
