Emtek door hardware AVOID AT ANYCOST

Entry door hardware finish failed after only -5- years. Metal on thumb plate wore off and the static handle looks like something salvaged from a landfill. Lifetime warranty is a joke, does not cover removing or reinstalling hardware or shipping to or from Emtek. What are you suppose to do with a front door that has no handles while they decide if they will replace them? I would avoid their products at any cost!!!!!!

When I received my redlight unit and…

When I received my redlight unit and the tripod. Tripod does not attach properly. The plate of tripod blocks all the controls on the red light unit. That was back in December 2025. I sent them about 20 emails and they never answer. Were sent to the correct email. I gave them the order number each time.
Still my unit is not attached properly. This is the end of April 2026

Terrible Emtek Experience...

I am a general contractor and we are renovating a large custom single-family home for a client in Eagle, Colorado. Our client opted to update all their door hardware and they chose to go with Emtek's Bryce Lever in Tumbled White Bronze - one of their 'top of the line' products.

We had all the door hardware professionally installed. Soon after, we noticed that nearly all of the levers started to sag, both the interior and exterior multipoint handsets. We called our local Emtek supplier that provided us with the hardware and explained what was going on. This was a first time they had sold any of this particular line and it was the first time we had purchased this particular line.

Our local rep arranged for a video call with the manufacturer. The Emtek technician had us disassemble several of the door handsets during our video call so he could make sure they were installed correctly. He confirmed that the hardware was in fact faulty - most likely an under-engineered lever spring for the heavy bronze handles. Emtek agreed to take the hardware back and credit our client, but they were not willing to reimburse our client for the labor to install AND remove the hardware. The installation was $150 per door and there are (25) doors, so $3750 for the installation.

We now have the task of removing and repacking all the handsets so they can be shipped back to Emtek- this will cost at least another $500 in labor, so we are now out of pocket $4250. On top of that, our clients, who are now living in the home, must wait another 6 weeks for replacement hardware, followed by another disruptive round of installation.

As the General Contractor, I'm obviously not going to pass this expense on to our clients, and I am now the one that gets to absorb these costs due to their faulty product.

I'm extremely disappointed with Emtek. We've purchased and installed their products for years without incident, but we will never recommend or purchase their products again. I highly recommend staying FAR AWAY from Emtek products!
