I applied for a small personal loan (less than the value of 6 salaries) through ENBD mobile app. I submitted all the required papers as requested by their phone call and email. But after 15 days th... See more

Poor customer service everytime. They don't care or protect customers from fraud. They close complaints without giving a resolution or feedback to the customer. Be careful

Agent Mr. Ibrahim conversation
From June month onwards I am facing the issue. 2023 I started to use the bank credit card. Normally for financial help we are using the credit card but these people they are sucking our blood without any proper updates. Two years without fail I paid my credit card payment on or before the due date . Last June 27 th I transferred from my debit to credit some amount and purchased UAE lottery so I got over due like cash advance payment 881DHS . Actually I purchased 80 from the debit to credit but for that 800 aed I want to pay like cash advance payment . And I am not aware about this because when I used I can see the statement -50 ,+5 debit and credit like that. After two days when I open the app I was shocked and called the customer service he informed that this was happened. I explained my financial situation I explained that I am not aware even though no update was there he said that he requested for reversal one payment that is 99 dhs . I didn't accept that the next day I was called again the customer service that person he said that just pay this amount I will raise the request so after you will get the amount return. But I have no source to pay but he raised request after 4 days one of the agent messaged that the request was not approved so he tried to convince and pay the amount after two days the amount was changed as 980 aed then I called customer service no one accept my request and keep on the words . So last month my payment was 3227 minimum. I can't pay this huge amount so I didn't pay so again including charges my over due was 1867 aed 5 k my credit card payment in that now 6867 Aed total. Last week one the financial department person contact me I explained my situation he said now you pay 155 aed the remaining amount I can take like total 6566.73 as a monthly installment.so he refused to reverse the payment. No other option I agreed so he send an email that for 6566.73 payment monthly you have to pay 576.7aed it's for 12 months .I accept that and I confirmed him please update in the app then only I can pay to avoid the fine. Yesterday is my due date up to the night in the bank app was not updated. I took screenshot before 12 and after 12 am also .so now the over due is 1807 again I sent an email today he replied that I updated so for further contact customer service. Then I tried to call 3 times no reply then I chatted with the WhatsApp . One of the agent Mr.Ibrahim chatted with me . I requested him to reverse the fine because it's not my fault upto yesterday I received an email that the payment is 579.7 . So the whole day I was waiting I didn't get updated in the app. He is convincing me to pay 1667.3 today or tomorrow or else will be get extra charge. Here no one is accepting their faults and delay. I sent the email proof and chat ,app updates . He is telling so now you follow my words what I am telling. Is the right way ? I have credit loan 5 k so for that every month paying interest too. How you people are are treating and blaming the customer. Anyway last two months I am here in Dubai without job I have no source to pay this huge amount and fine amount. I have the responsibility to pay 5 k I will return that as soon as possible but I won't pay this extra fines. Please treat the customer as a human and give the value for their feelings. I experienced that in UAE almost the government they are showing kind heart those who are suffering. I believe that if I go legally government can understand this issue and will get solution. I am requesting the team don't play like this with the customers . Last two months I am surviving here without job I am troubling in that the same time you people are making your earnings in this bad time . If anyone can suggest me the best option please.
The worst bank ever!
If there was a zero rating I'd have given ENDB a zero!!!!
Just like the multiple people complain of defrauded directly from ENDB or their subsidiary LIV, it happened to me on a credit card that their sales people were calling me non stop, 24/7 to get. The incident happened in April, was reported immediately and again like the rest of the victims no OTP was ever shared just transactions that went through. They have the worst customer service, and their lack of professionalism leaves clients to make follow ups instead of them helping and resolving the case. I reached out so many times and the first time they closed the case claiming the "transactions happened in a safe environment", and no one bothered to inform me not even via email of this resolution! After writing a review on Appstore, they called me trying to batter me up, sent me aed 200 gift card so I could remove the comment and another 2 months has passed no one from LIV has called me or emailed me to tell me the resolution of this case. The fact that so many people are being defrauded in "safe environments" and they turn a blind eye makes me think they are doing this to clients. I will fight and write reviews on any possible platform both for awareness and also to stop fake "reputable" service providers from not protecting their clients!
No OTP, No Security, Bank Fails to Act
I am extremely frustrated with Emirates NBD. On 6 August 2025, an unauthorized transaction of AED 29,745 was made from my debit card via Google Pay at Apple Store, Mall of the Emirates. I did not authorize this transaction, and it was not initiated from any of my devices or accounts.
What is alarming is that such a large amount was processed without a single OTP or proper authentication, exposing a serious lapse in the bank’s security protocols. Despite submitting a formal dispute (Ref. No. 226642914875) and providing full evidence, the bank has failed to resolve the matter. The Apple Store Manager confirmed that similar cases have occurred, highlighting a systemic risk in Emirates NBD’s transaction security.
Worst Customer Experience for a new user
Opened a salaried account with Emirates NBD on 1 July, received my credit card on 12 July, and started using it. On 17 July, it was suddenly blocked without explanation. For nearly a month, I received no proper guidance from the bank. Later found out it was due to a delayed HR verification email, which I got fixed immediately, yet the card remains blocked. Extremely poor communication, zero follow-up, and a disappointing experience for a new customer.
Failure to refund and cancel the insurance policy
Emirates NBD is the worst bank have ever encountered not even banks in uganda can never this bad and full of scams. In the first place they called my wife and forced her about the life insurance policy that she won and forced to accept this stupid policy after few weeks my wife called they to cancel the policy and refund her 154ead immediately which they accepted but never put actions😒 after that they have been deducting 154ead from her account for now 3 months this is so nagging and sucks like hell.. please NBD refund my wife full amount for 3months we struggle to get the little salary and you end working in our pockets(scam) we won't rest on this, it's too much do the needful please and please
Failure to cancel and refund life insurance given.
So I received a called from Emirates NDB agent that I had won a life insurance and she said I could receive 10,000aed per month . What a lie ! She said I was to be deducted 154aed per month and could cancel the insurance with a full refund on my deposit given at anytime. I agreed to that . However after weeks I decided not to continue with this insurance and called them to cancel it and refund my deposit given. Tell me why these customer service numbers never go through? I have been following up for months but all in vein. This bank keeps on deducting money from my account. You can’t force someone to accept an insurance they don’t need . I need a full refund urgently and cancel that insurance. You have made me so frustrated.
The worst bank ever I opened my account…
The worst bank ever I opened my account and they put it on hold
When I called customer service she said go with your id to update your signature When I went to the bank they asked for salary scerificate with stamp I did and when I went again they said no it should be signed
And for third time I went they said no need for salary certificate we just need ID !!!!!!!
Emirates NBD doesn't care about customer safety
Emirates NBD keeps sending me banking statements and other sensitive information belonging to one of their clients by email. When I inform them of this mishandling, they say that they cannot do anything unless I, a person unaffiliated with their bank, make an international call to their (probably super expensive) service number. Incredible lack of accountability, I cannot comprehend how a purportedly real bank could delegate their customer safety to someone who doesn't even have an account in their bank.
Emirates NBD Loan Nightmare
Emirates NBD Loan Nightmare — Still No Funds After 4 Months!
I applied for a loan with ENBD in April 2025. Approved in May.
Still no disbursement.
Yet the loan appears debited in my app — and interest is already being charged!
ENBD was supposed to settle my liabilities with: ✅ FAB (done)
❌ Mashreq — cheque based on outdated info, I paid the difference
❌ EIB — cheque only covered minimum due, I had to flag it
❌ HSBC — I paid it off myself due to fines, ENBD’s cheque was too much
📱 Multiple complaints via Instagram & customer service — no resolution.
✈️ My Europe travel plans (flights, hotel, visa) are collapsing.
💸 Loan installment starts in August — even though I haven’t received the funds.
⚠️ I’ve paid fines, faced delays, and every ENBD employee deflects responsibility.
Possibly the worst customer service…
Possibly the worst customer service bank i have ever experienced.
Very slow processing and no updates
There was a fraudulent transaction on my account and it has already been more than a month since i reported the incident but I have not received any updates from the bank.
The process is very slow considering that I have been a loyal customer for more than 13 years now.
They should care more about customers.
Extremely disappointing customer…
Extremely disappointing customer service – not recommended for international clients
If you are a foreign client or expat planning to bank with Emirates NBD, I strongly advise you to reconsider. Their complete lack of support, especially for customers living abroad, is unacceptable. After months of trying to resolve simple requests, I am now left with no choice but to escalate the matter to the Central Bank of the UAE. It’s unfortunate that such a step is necessary just to receive basic assistance.
As an expat currently living outside of the UAE, I have been trying to resolve basic banking matters with Emirates NBD since June – without success. It began with a simple request to update my registered phone number, which was ignored. Without this update, I lost access to mobile banking. Since then, I’ve also been trying to settle my credit card balance and close my account, but despite multiple follow-ups, I’ve received no meaningful response from the bank.
Calling the bank is no help either – you’ll be redirected from one department to another, and eventually referred to an email address where your request will never be processed. It's an endless cycle of miscommunication and indifference.
As my UAE ID is about to expire, I’ve been trying to handle everything in a timely and responsible manner to avoid additional charges or penalties. Sadly, the bank’s ongoing lack of response and unwillingness to assist has made this impossible.
This experience has been deeply frustrating and stressful. Emirates NBD has shown no accountability, and I cannot recommend this bank to anyone who may need remote banking support or expects even basic customer service.
Metlife life insurance (under emirates…
Metlife life insurance (under emirates NBD) called me last Thursday (July 31, 2025) and one of the sales team introduces their insurance and offered all the benefits along with it, and i said yea sounds nice, i will avail. But the following day i had a good thought about it and decided not to go for it so i called back and ask the same lady to not process my application coz I've change my mind and no longer interested. She responded with " yes, i didn't start processing your application yet and no worries i will make a note and cancel it." So, i thought it was all good and clear, until yesterday i received a notification from my Liv account saying an amount of 110.35aed has been deducted. So, i called to their customer service today and the supervisor answered the call and i explained to her and she said she will investigate and call me back, but i didn't get any call back so i called them again and another lady answered and again i have to explain to her my concern and she checked my account, verified my details and she then said that the amount that had been deducted on my account will be refunded after 15days. And she was saying technical error sometimes happen (like what??) that salesperson clearly told me that my application wasn't process and that she will cancel it! Luckily, it's just a small amount, luckily i remembered the exact amount that she told me will be charge monthly if ever i avail the service. And now, they're asking me to wait for 2 weeks bcoz of their negligence. Well i shouldn't be surprised, coz back in September 2022, when i just lost my job, i had a little savings on my account and i was keeping it to pay my room rent when suddenly i received a notification saying my card was use at a KFC store and it deducted 65aed. i immediately called my daughter just to be sure and asked if she use my card and she said no (and they always ask me first before they use my card). Then i immediately thought that someone else was using my account so i went to Liv app to block my card but before i managed so, i received a notification and got deducted from apple store (when i track the store was in Russia) and again from another shop. So, a total of 2,700aed if I'm not mistaken has been deducted from my account. I tried calling Enbd contacting Liv and they're all saying that those transactions were approved as the otp has been shared. And i was shocked as i haven't received any OTP that day for those transactions so i asked them to provide a proof that i receive an otp coz it was clear as day that i haven't receive any, but no one get back to me. i tried reporting it to the police and they also said there's nothing they can do if the bank is saying it was approved from my side. So yea, i have learned my lesson. i will just wait for that refund to reflect on my account and after that, never again! i will never use my Liv card/account again. may this serve as an example to everyone. Scams are everywhere
Terrible experience with Emirates NBD – avoid if you live abroad or plan to leave the UAE
After leaving the UAE, trying to close my Emirates NBD account has been a complete nightmare.
I followed every instruction they gave me: zeroed the balance, submitted updated documents and signatures, and yet they kept rejecting the closure due to reasons like “signature mismatch” — even after I provided multiple recently signed documents and official identification.
Their customer service is practically nonexistent. No direct contact, no one takes responsibility, emails are bounced between departments, and you mostly get robotic or copy-pasted responses. There’s absolutely no real willingness to help.
To even get a reply, I had to escalate the issue to Dubai’s Consumer Protection authorities. Only then did I receive partial attention.
In the meantime, the account keeps generating new “monthly fees”, making it impossible to fully close unless I keep paying — a trap.
I strongly advise against banking with Emirates NBD if you live abroad or plan to move. Once you’re out of the country, even the simplest requests become absurdly complex.
If you can avoid this bank, please do.
As of today, I still haven’t been able to close the account, and I have no idea how many more months they will continue to charge me fees — forcing me, despite having submitted multiple official documents, to become either a defaulter or a debtor against my will.
