Travelling from Sydney to Dubai on…
Travelling from Sydney to Dubai on 13/03/2023. We boarded about 6pm in Sydney and travelled on the very large 800 airbus to Dubai.
We were at the back of the aircraft in economy seats. We were last to be served a meal and I later realised that I had been given a hot dish that someone had eaten all the bits of chicken and I was left with a stirred up mess of rice. Then i felt a long human hair(350/400cm)in my mouth. I gently pulled it out and up came food at the other end. It was disgusting. I don't think I will fly with Emirates again.
Horrible service
I regret to say that my experience with Emirates Airlines left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. As a frequent traveler who has experienced a wide range of airlines, my expectations were high, but sadly, Emirates fell short in several key areas.
To begin with, the customer service provided by Emirates was incredibly lackluster. From the moment I stepped into the airport, I encountered disinterested and unhelpful staff members. Their attitude reflected a lack of professionalism and a disregard for the passengers' needs. It was disheartening to see the level of apathy and indifference displayed by the airline's representatives.
The in-flight experience was equally disappointing. The seats, touted for their comfort, proved to be anything but. The limited legroom and cramped seating arrangement made for an uncomfortable journey, especially on long-haul flights. The lack of proper cushioning and support added to the discomfort, leaving me restless and achy throughout the flight.
Moreover, the quality of the meals served during the flight was subpar. The tasteless and uninspired food options provided little satisfaction, failing to meet even basic culinary standards. Considering the reputation Emirates enjoys, I expected a more delightful and enjoyable dining experience. Unfortunately, the reality fell far short of my expectations.
Another major letdown was the entertainment system. The selection of movies and TV shows offered was limited and outdated. Many of the screens were unresponsive or had poor audio quality, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the in-flight entertainment. The overall lack of variety and the absence of modern amenities left me feeling bored and unengaged during the journey.
Additionally, I found the airline's baggage handling to be highly inefficient. Upon arrival at my destination, I discovered that my luggage had been mishandled and damaged. The process of reporting the issue and seeking compensation was met with a lack of urgency and an unhelpful attitude from Emirates' staff. This added unnecessary stress and inconvenience to an already underwhelming experience.
Lastly, I must mention the frequent delays and lack of communication from Emirates. My flights were consistently delayed, causing significant disruptions to my travel plans. The airline's failure to provide timely updates or clear explanations for the delays only exacerbated the frustration and inconvenience experienced by passengers.
Overall, my experience with Emirates Airlines was deeply unsatisfactory. The lackluster customer service, uncomfortable seating, mediocre meals, outdated entertainment, baggage mishandling, and frequent delays all contributed to a disappointing journey. I had hoped for a premium travel experience but was instead met with substandard service. As a result, I cannot recommend Emirates Airlines and advise travelers to consider alternative options that prioritize customer satisfaction and comfort.
I had a racist encounter too with one of the staff. But that’s another story.

Emirates does not willingly comply to international law
Flight CPH-Dubai-Manila was cancelled and rescheduled till day after which we accepted. However Emirates did not Secure the last leg complied with Arrival from CPH. Then we was told that the flight the day after was overbooked on last leg but could stay over for 8 days on our own account which we rejected. Was then offered a refund and when we told that we wished another iteniary instead and compensation in compliance with international regulation this was denied with reason to Emirates policy. If that is true Emirates does not comply with international law. Is this what they instruct their employees to do to make it more difficult for travellers?
Worst service ever
Had to cancel our family booking for 5 from Australia to Scotland in March due to covid 19. Two attempts and numerous phone calls ... no refund to date ....
Wrong information, 1,5 month waiting for reply & no refund!
Wrong information, 1,5 month to get reply & no refund!
We bought tickets onboard Emirates flight for a show in Dubai. A total of 300$.
When we landed in Dubai we found out that the show was not running the 4 days that we were in Dubai.
Ridiculous! Waited to 1,5 month to get a qucik reply from customer service that they will not refund.
EMIRATES SUCKS!
EMIRATES SUCKS!
Pardon my language BUT!!!
I’ve purchased a ticket with Emirates from Auckland NZ to Copenhagen DK flying on 28th of March to get my son safe home. On the 25th Emirates chose to cancel all flights – this was a company decision made!
Then I urgently needed to book another flight home for my son at another airline company.
Now – as many of you here on LinkedIn pointed out – this is the time and the opportunity to stand up and out as a company to show excellent customer service. That definitely did not happen with EMIRATES!
When applying for a refund of my ticket I was told, that my ticket didn’t allow a refund only a voucher! I was aware, that if I had decided to cancel my flight MYSELF I would not receive a refund. BUT that is absolutely not the case. The case is EMIRATES DECIDES TO CANCEL all flights. But they only offer their customer a voucher to use within one year!!
This is the most ridiculous way to treat your customers!
Let me compare it to any other business! Let’s say I buy a car from a company because I urgently need that car to get to work.
I pay the full amount up front.
Then a few days before delivery I’m being made aware that the company has stopped the delivery of cars for an unknown period of time.
As I urgently need my car to get to work I want my money back to buy a new car at another company.
Then I’m told that due to “company policy” I can’t get my money back. But they will give me a voucher to buy a car when they start delivering again.
DOES THAT GET ME TO WORK AS URGENTLY NEEDED? NO IT DOESN’T!
So I have to go and buy another car and then I get a voucher for a second car that I absolutely don’t need!
SORRY – but does that make sense from a company or customer perspective???
We can all help each other in these difficult times. We can choose to support small businesses by still ordering with later delivery or buing giftcards and order take-out.
But we as customers should have the right to decide how and who to support!
70th Birthday Celebration... NOT!
We seemed to be the only couple to be bumped off our pre-booked connecting flight at Dubai even though we had booked seats and printed our boarding passes. The plane left on time and without us.
Requested reason from several staff and Connections desk. No explanation and no effort to find out why. No help offered during next 13 hour delay despite repeated request to staff and Connections desk. Absolutely shattered after long flight out there; we just needed somewhere to lie down rather than the floor!
We were refused our direct requests for somewhere to rest, a meal etc apart from a very limited choice of one small sandwich and a drink - nothing else!
Refused access to Emirates Lounge despite explaining our circumstances.
They could'nt even be bothered to upgrade us on our onward flight.
Complaint resulted after nearly waiting a month for a reply in apology and flat denial of all responsibility for our treatment.
How is that for what is supposed to be one of the top few airlines in the world !
Worst experience ever
Worst experience ever - booked 'flex' ticket outbound and 'saver' ticket inbound. Now I want to push my outbound flight back one day - per Emirates this is not possible as return flight booked as 'saver'....... then what is the point of selling the combination 'Flex/Saver' if not given the opportunity to change the outbound flight - a service/flexibility I paid extra for ??? This to me equals stealing my money - selling a service that does not exist or can not be used.
I can NOT recommend this airline.
