I'm having a storage problem

I'm having a storage problem with your application. I have to delete my old emails every time I want to receive new ones. If I don't delete them, I don't receive any new emails. This is a very big problem.

eM Client does not impose any limits on your mailbox. What you’re describing sounds like your provider may be limiting storage for your inbox on their server, and once it's full, it will not accept any new messages. There are few ways to solve this.

You can set up your account as POP instead of IMAP and set eM Client to delete the messages on the server after they are downloaded. This way, the space on the server is cleared automatically, but you keep your message history locally in eM Client.
You can set up your account anew via menu>Accounts, Add account > use the Mail>Other option to choose POP setup instead of IMAP. If you need further advice, reach out to info@emclient.com

Or you can keep your current setup, but set up rules to move your messages automatically to Local folders (Menu>Rules) or you can set up Automatic Archiving (Menu>Settings>Mail>Automatic Archiving) which would move messages from your account based on how old the messages are.

Beats the Gmail Interface

The product is a good product. The few times I've reached out for support, they've been helpful. I wanted something that mimicked my previous Outlook experience. eMClient did that for me. I flood all my Gmail accounts into eMClient. I can't use the Gmail interface. It's too busy. eMClient is Clean, Simple, Straightforward.

Reliable, nice to use and a pleasing design.

This email client is nice to use and live with daily.
Is pleasing to the eye and very customisable.

I've been using it for many months now and have found it reliable and nice to use.

I'm using it in Windows 7 with my Outlook.com account as I'm one of those people who refused to update from Win7 as I love it. Thank god this email client works so well still under Windows 7.

It is stabile and well-organized

It is stabile and well-organized, uncluttered. The only important thing that is lacking in the free edition is Thread View. This prevents deleting older messages from the same thread, to clean up messages saved to the Cloud.

Even without Thread view, you can delete single messages from a Conversation. Just use the context menu button in the message's header > Delete or right-click the message and select "Delete" from the drop-down menu.

It's globally good

It's globally good, but there are some missing functionalities that could really help for entreprise usage:
- ldap support
- proxy configuration
- performance improvement (sometimes slow, when opening mail or events)
- sorting conversations (new on top instead of bottom)

EDIT 15/04:
Thanks for you ranswers, the conversation sorting is working I couldn't find the option
- For proxy, I dont know why but it works for the emails but not the calendar, so I created a .bat that specifies http/s proxies when I'm using my VPN and have to relauch the app.
- Concerning performance : the animation is already disabled. It takes like 6s for an email to open in the edit windows when i click on answer, the parameters menu takes 3 seconds to dsiplay and when clicking on Messages inside : 5s to unflod the parameters... and I have an i7 16gb ram wit ssd W11.
This is not ideal.

I backed the LDAP feedback, in your new platform, but I the subject was asked more than 15 years ago when you search on teh forums I'm not very optimistic.

Regarding proxy configuration: when a proxy is configured in Windows, we will use it for HTTP and HTTPS requests. We only support proxies that require no authentication or Windows authentication. There is also a request for a more integrated support of proxies here: https://emclient.sleekplan.app/feedback/171091. If this is not what you had in mind, feel free to post your idea on our Sleekplan with more details.

We are constantly working on improving the performance - you can speed up opening your emails by disabling the fade-in animation - go to Settings>Mail>Read> and untick the "Enable fade-in animation when opening messages" option. If the issues persist, please don't hesitate to reach out to us via support.emclient.com and include your OS version and app version.

You can change the way conversations are sorted in Settings>Mail>Conversations>Preferences by changing the order of participants to "From latest to oldest".

Horrible program

Horrible program, slow, randomly deletes the entire email database, takes forever to search for basic emails, extremely unstable and no tech support. Run!

The app shouldn’t delete its database randomly, and when database corruption occurs (often from improper shutdowns), the built-in repair kicks in automatically the next time it's open to fix it and get you back up quickly. Have you perhaps changed your storage location or disconnected a drive where the data was stored?

After years a using Outlook Pro…

After years a using Outlook Pro versions of mail apps and the new Windows 11 has been forced upon us, I decided to find another, more user-friendly mail app. After much research I found this, eM Client mail app. I downloaded it and I have never looked back at any other app since then. This app has the same full features as Outlook Pro, but more user friendly. The installation is fast and easy. Basically, download the program enter your email address and the program does the rest. If you use Outlook, Gmail or others, it will gather your information and setup your installation automatically. It could not be easier. There is a slight learning curve when switching, but not much. I love the layout. The preview pane is a good size to review your mail. I have only had one small issue with a number of mails in my inbox which were not actually there. I did a simple search in the forum and I had a resolution. I am extremely happy with this program, and I have told many associates, friends and family about it. I know many who will or have already switched.

Over all it's way better than anything…

Over all it's way better than anything Microsoft or other competitors have to offer. The only problem I have with it is when you go to launch it the first attempt doesn't work. You have to double click its .exe 2 times to get it to start running and even then it takes a minute for it to actually boot. But again it's so much better than Outlook.

Whether .exe files require a double-click or a single-click to launch depends on your system settings. We haven’t seen errors reported on this, but if your setting is single-click and the app still needs a double-click to start, please reach out to us at info@emclient.com.

The app startup time should take a couple of seconds, but it can depend on the device used, other installed apps, and the number of accounts in eM Client. Some security apps can slow down the startup as well. Pretty good but on windows buggy

The app itself works ok but on windows it continually prompts for a password when it is saved. This is using IMAP accounts and CALDAV synchronisation. Annoying as hell but other than that the app is a really good alternative to outlook.

If you're being repeatedly prompted for a password, it might be caused by various issues: an authentication error, the password might be incorrect, or outdated, etc. Sometimes it's security apps blocking the connection (antivirus, firewall, VPN) - please add eM Client as an exception in those apps, and for VPN apps, make sure you use split-tunneling.

Great product

Very impressive app! Solves problems that other clients don't

Very impressive app. It solves problems that other email clients couldn't solve for me and after more than 6 months, still surprises me with features I didn't know existed. Flawless functionality across my Windows, Mac, and mobile. Maybe most impressive? Customer support is human, relatable, and always helpful. Easy to tell that even the CS takes pride in the product.

when I search keywords from old email

when I search keywords from old email, it is not connecting server properly.
It shows red warning triangle icon.
It also knew by chatGPT as well.

Problems with the Search feature can often be due to the server-side search being enabled, since not all providers have the same search options as eM Client. Please try disabling it by unchecking the "Use server search if available" option in the Search bar drop-down menu. At the same time, we suggest enabling the download for offline use (Menu>Accounts>IMAP/EWS tab>Sync Options). This way your messages are downloaded fully in the background and the more detailed local search can give you better results.

eM Client is one of the best…

eM Client is one of the best applications I have used after Outlook. However, there are still some features missing in its panel that could be improved. Enhancing these features would make it easier for users to migrate from Outlook and feel more comfortable with eM Client, since most people are already familiar with Outlook. Until then, wider acceptance of eM Client among users and organizations may take some time to grow. eM Client can be easily configured and can not be managed by intune and scalefusion need to check work on this and yes please create sort videos for each to easily available to users.
