When Embark acquired knowledge First Financial, we decided to transfer our daughters RESP to our bank. We started this process about 10 months ago. Embark keep using delay tactics, wrong documents, ignoring calls to prevent the transfer.
I have been in contact with your organization so has my bank but we just get stalled. Can you give me a contact to call?

Use yourown bank. They take fees for everything. When I requested to transfer out, I was told it takes 45 business days to transfer funds. Holding the funds hostage essentially. Nothing in the world take 45 days to transfer.

I had a misfortune of becoming (unbeknownst to me) an Embark customer. It will be finally over soon, if I manage to extract the last bit of my own money from them. Yet, I'll never get back the endless hours of submitting/resubmitting information to Embark because all records related to my 3 RESP accounts were thoroughly confused. Embark's main concern seem to be to sell more services to stressed our parents. Watch out, for unnecessary fees and products you don't want - like more life insurance. Customer support people have been always very nice but mostly powerless to resolve actual customer's issues. In the end, the financial returns on the funds "managed" by Embark were low, and not at all what was conveyed when we signed up with the original company, Allianz.

Horrible, all around.
This company has been switched numerous times, most recently Knowledge First Financial. During the merge, my accounts were split into 5 accounts (from 4). My initial request this week was to condense this into one, under a family plan. Customer service = useless. All they do is arrange a callback. Well, when you arrange a callback between 5pm and 8pm, it doesn't happen as the senior folks only work until 5pm. After multiple calls in one week, 2 follow ups not being done during the requested hours, I now want to know how to move funds out of Embark. But, guess what, only senior folks can do that and you can't talk to them anyways. Patrner this will a very low rate of return on investment (less than half the average year, plus a couple years it lost money) equals a recipe for disaster. DON"T DO IT!

Since October last year, I have been trying to contact this company just to update my address and mobile number because I couldn’t log into my account. I’ve tried emailing and calling, spending a lot of time with no response. It wasn’t until last Friday, August 22, that someone finally contacted me, informing me that my account had been deactivated without any prior notice. They promised a response by Monday, but as of now, August 25 evening, I still haven’t received any updates, and I’m still unable to log into my account. Be cautious of this company—potential scammers.
