An an IB student taking Spanish ab initio SL, I had very little experience with the language and struggled quite a bit in my first year.

However, after I began taking classes with Mr Pepe, my ability to understand and employ Spanish improved significantly. Each class allowed me to become more and more comfortable and confident as a result of our conversations and activities because it forced me to employ all the grammar and vocabulary I knew in order to communicate and answer questions properly. This indirectly improved my listening and writing skills as a result of our frequent conversations as well.

In addition, Mr Pepe taught me how to use a variety of verb tenses, sentence structure and gave me far more individual attention and care that I ever received in class. More often than not, school will only really teach you a language with the intention of making sure you pass the exams related to it rather than truly mastering the language.

If you truly wish to do well and acquire an additional language to add to your skillset, then you have found the right place. As such, I can confidently say that this service is absolutely worth taking. I am sure you won't come to regret it.

When you just start learning new language, it’s very important to have a good teacher. And I can say Pepe is an excellent teacher! I am incredibly lucky and grateful to meet him because he makes learning Spanish so easy and interesting. I can feel how he is very passionate about teaching, and I think that what makes learning Spanish with him so effective. I can’t appreciate enough the effort he puts in creating his materials which are so informative and easy to understand. Pepe taught my 14 year old daughter and I Spanish several times a week over the course of 6 months – first in person and then online. We were complete beginners and aiming to get my daughter up to the standard of the other children in her new school in the UK, who had already been learning Spanish for more than 2 years. An ambitious task! However by the end of the 6 months, my daughter was placed in the top set of her new school and achieved consistently top grades. She has since gone on to select Spanish as one of her 3 subjects to study at A-Level.

Whilst my daughter’s dream has always been to learn Spanish and to live in Spain, we have absolutely no doubt that none of this would have been possible without Pepe. His lessons were varied, interesting and fun. Whilst of course we needed sheets of grammar too, Pepe used lots of different methods to keep us engaged: pictures, movies, role plays and games, which meant that the lessons were always enjoyable and at times rather competitive! I realised that there is a huge difference between learning in a larger classroom setting with a text book and a much more personal tutor group such as this. Whilst Pepe also set us some informal written assignments, it was our Spanish conversation which really flourished and as a result my daughter is a much more confident Spanish speaker now than her classroom peers, who may only get to speak out loud in Spanish once or twice a week. We frequently went over our allotted lesson time and we kept up our Spanish outside of lesson time with texting. A year and a half later, Pepe still keeps in touch and is genuinely interested in my daughter’s Spanish progress and always willing to help. You can’t ask for much more than that from a teacher!

Thank you Pepe for all the time, effort and care you invested in us – I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you to anyone looking for a personalised and dedicated Spanish language learning journey. You made certain that we will always have a love of the language, the country and the culture!

I have loved learning Spanish with Pepe! Pepe makes each lesson specific to where you are at in your learning and makes lessons fun and engaging. He also has great availability so I can always find a time for Spanish with my busy schedule. Pepe makes learning so easy and I always leave my lesson feeling a little bit more confident than I was before. I couldn’t recommend him enough!

Pepe is the best Spanish teacher! He makes learning easy and fun. I stay engaged the whole time because his method of teaching is so interesting which has allowed me to learn better. The lesson plans he prepares are always different in the slightest way which allows me to learn more but at a great pace. He starts you off with the basics and adds more each week, without even realizing you can put sentences together no problem. His availability is excellent, he always makes time for my lesson even with him being on the other side of the world. After taking lessons for just 6 weeks I was able to understand and communicate better while travelling through Spain. I can’t wait to see how much better my Spanish is next year. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to learn Spanish in the most enjoyable way!

Pepe is one of the most dedicated and effective teachers that I have ever met!

MY CONTEXT
For reference, I have learnt Spanish as a 3rd language in high school (native English and French), and I have recently taken intensive classes, both group and private, while living a month in Madrid, so have been taught by 5+ Spanish teachers.

I started with Pepe with a tourist-level “functional” Spanish (European ~B1 level) and I’m looking to become professionally proficient.

TEACHING STYLE
Pepe’s classes are also always so enjoyable, and his own engagement motivates me to learn so much more during and after class hours.

He is extremely personable, and he’ll tailor his teaching style to you. I learn best when concepts are structured and organized in a logical sequence, and he does exactly that. I’m always impressed with the timeliness (i.e. next day) and effectiveness of the self-made summary charts he’ll put together on concepts we learn.

He also builds tailored exercises (with increasing difficulty) after each theory-based class, which hit exactly on what I need to practice.

That said, we also intersperse theory with casual and professional conversation, and he’ll take time to explain the relevant intricacies of local expressions, idioms and sentence structures which is absolutely invaluable. He also has great English knowledge for us to be able to discuss these at an advanced level.

All in all, everything is always extremely high yield and fun, which is exactly what I’m looking for.

AVAILABILITY
His availability is also impressive. As a doctor, I can work upwards of 100 hours/week and I’m still able to always find timeslots that fit my schedule.

RESPONSIVENESS
He’s also very timely with responses (via Instagram, be it questions on exercises or for rescheduling purposes). Even if it’s outside of class hours, he’ll still take the time to teach and correct you, which speaks to his dedication.

COST
Having taken private classes in Madrid (35 euros/hr) and tried some in Latin America, his classes are extremely reasonably priced. Considering the impeccable teaching that he provides, his classes are without a doubt the best yield for cost that I’ve found.

CONCLUSION
For anyone looking for the most effective and fun way (and at a reasonable cost) to learn or improve their Spanish, I cannot recommend Pepe enough! Thank you!!!

Pepe es uno de los más dedicados y efectivos profesores que jamás he conocido!

MI CONTEXTO
Como referencia, aprendí el español como tercer idioma en la secundaria (soy nativa en inglés y francés), y muy recientemente tomé cursos intensivos, tanto en grupo como en privado, cuando viví en Madrid durante un mes, y me han enseñado más de 5 profesores.

Empecé con Pepe con un nivel de español de turista ¨funcional¨ (nivel europeo ~B1) y quiero logar un nivel profesional.

ESTILO DE ENSEÑANZA
Las clases de Pepe son siempre agradables, y su compromiso me motiva a aprender mucho más durante y después de las clases.

Él va a adaptar su estilo de enseñanza a cada alumno. Para mí, aprendo mejor cuando los conceptos son estructurados y organizados en una secuencia lógica, y él va a enseñar de esta manera. Estoy siempre impresionada con la rapidez (es decir el próximo día) y la efectividad de las tablas hechas por él mismo sobre los conceptos que hemos aprendido.

Crea también ejercicios adaptados (con dificultad ascendente) después cada clase de teoría que son lo que exactamente necesito practicar.

Dicho esto, también intercalamos teoría con conversaciones casuales y profesionales, y va a tomar el tiempo para explicar los entresijos pertinentes de las expresiones y frases hechas, que son absolutamente incalculable. Tiene también un muy buen inglés para discutirlo a un nivel avanzado.

En resumen, todo es siempre extremadamente productivo y divertido, y es exactamente lo que busco.

DISPONIBILIDAD
Su disponibilidad es también muy impresionante. Como médica, puedo trabajar hasta 100 horas/semana y siempre encuentro horarios que se ajustan a mi agenda.

CAPACIDAD DE RESPUESTA
También es muy puntual en sus respuestas (a través de Instagram, ya sean preguntas sobre ejercicios o para reprogramar clases). Incluso si fuera afuera de las horas de clase, tomará su tiempo para enseñarte y corregirte, lo que dije de su dedicación.

COSTE
Habiendo tomado clases en Madrid (35 euros/hora) y probado algunos en América Latina, sus clases son a un precio muy razonable. Tenido en cuenta la enseñanza impecable que imparte, sus clases son la mejor calidad-precio que he encontrado.

CONCLUSIÓN
¡Para cualquiera que esté buscando la manera más eficaz y divertida (y a un precio razonable) para aprender o mejorar su español, no puedo recomendar a Pepe lo suficiente! ¡¡Muchas gracias!!

Pepe is really good at teaching and help me study Spanish. We spend a lot of time to practice the different tense which make me to better memorize the language. I really like it!
