When in Finland it will changed
When in Finland it will changed? They have a monopoly on these services and offer them at inflated prices, which they tailor to their needs, with low quality service, high commissions etc. Is this even normal? It's actually easier for me to buy a global SIM card with satellite internet….
This is the worst mobile provider...
This is the worst mobile provider I've encountered globally. I ordered a prepaid SIM for my upcoming trip to Finland, but the website didn't clearly state that the SIM would be activated upon purchase. After checkout, I was informed that my service would start immediately. I contacted customer service via email and Facebook Messenger to cancel, request a refund, or postpone the service start date, but none of these requests were accepted. I double-checked their eSIM website and found only a brief mention in a collapsed FAQ section about this. They behave completely like a scam.
The network speed is fine
The network speed is fine, but the customer service portal is a mess. I tried to cancel a service I no longer needed, and the 'automatic' system kept routing me back to the homepage. When I finally called, I was on hold for 30 minutes only to be told I had to visit a physical store. Very poor UX for a telecommunications company
Pay the activation fee
Pay the activation fee, and rather than sort the issue, they just switch the internet off completely.
In Finland
In Finland, you have the right to demand that a company stops telemarketing. However, Elisa Oyj requires you to call their customer service department to opt out of their marketing calls. This call costs 0.189 €/min, and you are charged even while waiting in the queue.
When you call, an AI assistant asks for the reason for your call before placing you in a queue. If you inform the AI that you wish to block telemarketing, the wait time can exceed 40 minutes—even though Elisa’s own website claims an average wait time of 6 minutes, with 58% of calls answered in under two minutes. Consequently, you may end up paying roughly 7-8€ (or even more) just to tell them you want to deny telemarketing. I suspect they are illegally making it difficult to opt out, which contradicts Finnish consumer protection laws.
Under the GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) and Finnish law, exercising your right to object to direct marketing should be straightforward and, ideally, free of charge.
Cheating the customers
While switching to another mobile operator from Elisa, they were threatening me with significant fines without any legal, solid basis behind.
After having submitted official authority reports by me, the company admitted that they had no reason to send me any kind of penalty fees. Hilarious company and this was not my first similar issue with them about existing contracts and agreements.
Disappointed with Elisa 5G Internet Performance in Helsinki
Last month, I switched my mobile and internet subscription to Elisa 5G 200M, and I must say I am really disappointed with the connection. I need a fast and stable internet across Helsinki for my work, but your service has been unreliable. At times, the speed drops significantly. I previously had Telia 4G, and I never experienced such issues. Overall, I’m very disappointed.
It sucks
It sucks. I wanted to write my review in their webpage. But I am rating their internet service here. It sucks. Worst internet service ever. I will not recommend Elisa to anyone.
terrible service
terrible service, errors in the application, Specific problem: when transferring within ELISA to a company account, invoices stopped arriving, resulting in a 40-euro late fee. Support didn't fix the issue. Four hours wasted on the phone, and then we have to pay for someone else's mistakes.
I'm not even talking about the internet speed in my house, which was 0.5 Mbps, which was only fixed after 4 months, as usual, wasted hours of talk time with support.
Service added without consent — unclear communication
Elisa activated an extra paid service (“Liittymäturva”) on my mobile plan without my consent. I never requested or agreed to this change — I only received an email notification after it was already added. When I contacted support, they claimed that notifying by email was enough, which is not correct under Finnish consumer law — consent must be explicit.
While the representative was polite and offered to cancel the service, I found it concerning that paid features can be added this way. It feels like a breach of trust and transparency.
Internet problems
My broadband was cutting out several times during the week. It was frustrating to deal with while working from home.
Not a telecom provider but scammer
I purchased a prepaid card with unlimited data. I was never able to activate, i went to a Elisa store and was told they manage prepaid cards only online. I called support and they have been unable to help, asking me to go to an Elisa store. How to get a refund ? Impossible to get someone competent to solve any issue. Elisa is closer to scammers than to a telecommunication provider. AVOID

Always personal service from Anton at Itakeskus. Contract and shipment was delayed but at least I get personal service when required. Customer service is disappearing nowadays.
Elisa is worst company for companies
Elisa is worst company for companies. The reminder fees of late invoice is 40 euro and then something 50 on top. They dont accept their mistake either. Its second time i am having bad expereince. No Elisa ever for our company atleast. chosoe wiselty. There are much better options in the market.
Dont buy from the shop...
I brought some headphones from their online shop once as they were cheap. Now I get calls and text messages almost every day asking if I want to buy a phone from them... I say no but they dont care. I block the number, they simply call again from a new number. I regret buying the cheap headphones now...
Horrible Signal and Mobile Network quality
Signal quality in Perno and Pansio (Turku) and many other areas in Turku is really poor and weak. I'm getting only 2-3 bars (often only 1 bar) of mobile signal at my home. Also, mobile network is very unstable and often very slow even when the signal is good (Even after upgrading from a cheap plan to a more expensive one with supposedly higher speeds, nothing improved. The speed is still the same as it was on a cheap plan, and even that is still very unstable). And because of unstable connection and packet losses, it's very hard to speak with someone in Discord voice channels, play multiplayer videogames, stream etc, since my ping is often jumping out from 45 ms to 50000000 ms and getting me crashed out from the servers. Because of all of that, I really consider moving away from Elisa to another mobile operator. BTW, just for the contrast, I have 2 SIMs in my phone (First is Finnish one by Elisa, and second is my Ukrainian SIM by Kyivstar that works in Finland in Roaming), and I'm getting a lot better signal quality from my Roaming Ukrainian SIM card than from my actual Finnish Elisa's one (While Elisa has only 1 bar of signal, my Kyivstar in Roaming has full bars of signal)
