Worst car rental company ever!!
Worst car rental company ever!!! After a long time waiting in the queue, they cancelled our car reservation, which we have paid in advance, because according to them, we didn’t pick up the car within 4 hours of the exact time that we’d agreed. There has to be noted that we had emailed them that our flight would be delayed so we agreed that we will pick up the car later the same day. As a result, we stayed at the airport without a car because they couldn’t provide us another one, they didn’t try to find us any solution and they don’t give us our money back. They do not respond to any email!
Shame on you!!!!
Ecovia Car Rental Beware
Rented van with Ecovia, purchased online insurance. At counter, they said we had to buy different insurance at $42/day because we did't have international driver license. Email confirmation said international driver license needed if non-Roman alphabet. Our licenses are Roman alphabet. They said we can get vehicle somewhere else, but past the cancelation time frame for refund. We had no choice but to pay addition $420 at counter. After all done, they did not have a van that was reserved. A frequent traveler. We saw them do this to next person in line as well. It is their m.o.
Informations incorrect
On April 25th, we rented a car from Ecovia through rentalcars.
To begin with, the wait time was tremendous and inexplicable. The information was poorly publicised, which raised many doubts for the customers who were in front of us and ourselves.
The payment (the booking) was made using the "Revolut" card. When collecting the car to pay the deposit, we were informed that this card was not accepted. Something that is not written or mentioned in the contract, nor the “Terms and Conditions”. When we got there, as it was not accepted, they told us that we would have to pay an extra €165 to be able to use a debit card. Since the second driver would arrive later, we asked if it was possible to use this person's credit card (we noted that she was one of the drivers) and they told us yes and we wouldn't have to pay the €165. This information was transmitted to us by the collaborator Fábio, who refused to provide his surname.
However, on the second attempt to collect the car, it was explained to us that the €165 would have to be paid because the name on the credit card was not the same as the person who made the reservation. Once again, this information is not in the contract nor the “Terms and Conditions”.
Additionally, the car was delivered to us with the tank half full (and required to be delivered with a full tank) and the photo we took did not serve as proof. We delivered the car with a full tank. However, we did not receive the €100 deposit that we provided upon pick-up.
Finally, the car was delivered to us in poor condition (photos attached), and we would like to leave this information in writing.

My family and I thought we could save a buck by renting a car through DiscoverCars.com when going on a trip to Tampa FL. What a huge mistake. They offered discount cars rentals. However, what I was not told was the janky, lying, dirty company's they partner with. Specifically Ecovia/Priceless. DiscoverCars.com advertises full coverage for the car you are renting, But Ecovia/Priceless didn't except that coverage because the coverage was not high enough. They then ask us to provide personal insurance, which we have full coverage on a WV Tiguan. They stated that was not sufficient. We had to purchase coverage through them for $200.00 + a security deposit of $200.00. Not including what I previously paid for the rental.
To my husband this was a aha moment. He knew something was off but we were already deep in the process to decline the rental. He took before and after pictures of the vehicle to be on the safe side.
On April 2nd five hours after we checked the car back in, Ecovia/Priceless charged our acct $838.50. We immediately called Ecovia/Priceless, Of which we were meet by no one answering or a full VM. For two full days myself and my husband continued to call to no avail. We even tried calling different city branches of which we were told that the only the location that could help was the Tampa location. Finally with frustration we reached out to DiscoverCars.com For some reason once you have returned a car you can no longer speak to a live person. You must state your concerns via email. So we did just that, emailed CS via DiscoverCars.com . We placed a dispute with the bank and on 4/4/24 we reached out to DiscoverCars.com, who then began reaching out to Ecovia/Priceless. It took Ecovia/Priceless 21 days to respond to DiscoverCars.com . 21 days SERIOUSLY. Of which we were told that the additional charge was due to damage on the vehicle. AGAIN we have before and after pics of the inside and outside of the car. NO Additional Damage was not there.
After all that back and forth with me and DiscoverCars.com .Now almost a month after our initial email between DiscoverCars.com and them. The end solution is that DiscoverCars.com is washing their hands and I now have to go through Ecovia/Priceless for dispute.
I do not recommend DiscoverCars.com as they fail to take ownership with the company's they work with and to definitely avoid Ecovia/Priceless. They are a scam that is just trying to rip off hard working people that are trying to save a buck taking their family on a vacation.

I also encountered fraud from this company.
We ordered a car, arrived at night, they provided us with another car, which was in terrible condition and had a lot of damage to the body. We received the car without an employee accompanying us, visually checked the damage on the paper under the lights and drove off.
On the way back, when returning, the employee noticed a tiny dot on the wing and announced that this was damage, which was not indicated in the protocol. We were already delayed at the airport and the employee took advantage of this situation and said that without a signature we would not be refunded the deposit of 700 euros.
Now, 3 weeks later, we received a claim with a photo where the damage is not even visible and now they are demanding 375 euros from us. The claim states that this is money for repairs or replacement of a part, but we received an already damaged car.
I advise everyone to avoid this terrible company.
We collected from Pisa Airport
We collected from Pisa Airport. When I collected the car it had damage that was not on their system, we had to get them to sign paperwork to confirm it was there beforehand. Hard sell for insurance but I have my own.
Upon return they still had no record of pre hire damage, if we had not have examined car at collection we would have been charged. They must also bully everyone into their insurance as when I said I had my own the lad checking in the car literally didn’t know how to checkin a car not covered and phoned a colleague. They spent ages going over it with a fine tooth comb. I had to be forceful to get a signature to say they accepted the car as no damage.
cross border charges + office closed…
cross border charges + office closed due to delay flight
car rental booked via Klook.com (TO BE AVOIDED - I will leave separate review for their poor services)
Flight was delayed by 2 hrs and Autovia offices in Turin closed at 23:00 (they didn't await for delayed flights passengers)
Reservation was cancelled due to "no show" (despite flight delay not my fault) meant overnight stay in the airport hotel + next day I had to make a 2nd reservation .
Autovia claims Klook didn't inform flight was delayed.
After making 2nd rental via Ryanair I was asked to pay additional 35Euro/day for crossing from Italy into France. This wasn't detailed in Ryanair booking (unless stated in the "Ts&Cs"- which let's face none checks)
Stay away from this scam company!
Stay away from this scam company if you don't want to get robbed! They will charge your credit card for some made up damage months after the rental, even if they already returned the deposit and you don't agree with any damage. I was charged 107 EUR 4 months after the rental.
SCAMMERS!
Scam
Scam! Do not book ECOVIA cars! They ruined our first day of vacations. As we were not there at the pick up time, they said our reservation was canceled and our car was no longer available (we had the car paid via rentalcar by booking and no cancelation showing on my email). First they said they had other car but with a different price because it was bigger. Then I called the rentalcar by booking and I had to make another rental by the platform. I needed to be in Florence by 8 pm, I only arrived near midnight!
Car was really good, they used ultra bright lights to show defects
Car was really good. I only had issues when dropping off. No parking available and when I finally got someone to come and take the car they shone an ultra bright light and found a small light scratch. This didn't show in natural light. I believe it was there on collection and the assistant also agreed. Took 2 months instead of a week to contact me regarding payment for the fix.
Not such company at Miami airport
I got to Miami airport after following the instructions to pickup the car and getting to the place, outside the terminal there were minibuses but no one from Ecovia, I took a taxi to get to rental car location, was not such Ecovía office, there was a HDC company that nobody new anything about my reservation, after staying for 30 minutes the found a booking of such company but they say that I had to pay 5 times more that I paid, so my booking was 95 € and paid 480 €, horrible service and I filing cheated, all people were in the office happened same than me. Don’t book anything with this company.
Scam DO NOT HIRE Car from this company
Scam company. Hide behind t&c’s to give your car away to someone else if you don’t arrive at the exact booking time due to flight delay. Then charge you an extra 200 euros for a different car if you are lucky and one is available at all. Then try to forcefully sell you 200 euro insurance, making out your pre-paid one is no longer valid because they changed the car. Very stressful experience. Avoid this scam rental company it is not worth it to destroy your holiday mood at the same beginning
DO NOT HIRE FROM ECOVIA
Terrible terrible rude company. (Not true). Make sure you video the car before leaving because they try to charge you extortionate fee for damage that you haven’t caused. Thankfully we had video proof. Rude staff. Obnoxious. Very stressful experience
DO NOT USE
DO NOT USE. DO NOT USE. DO NOT USE. Read the other reviews. They are not a serious car rental company. Expect ludicrous extra charges and an insistence that there is damage where there is clearly no damage. It makes me a bit sick to leave a one star review - they deserve no stars. The worst car rental service we have ever experienced by far.
Absolute rubbish
Absolute rubbish. We were late to pick up our car because of a flight delay and they charged us £120 for a bigger car as they said ours had been given to someone else! The car we eventually received was scratched and dirty. Total lack of customer car and almost ruined our trip. Will never use them or Auto Europe again
AUTOVIA, ECOVIA AND FURGOVIA - ALL THE SAME TRASH!
AUTOVIA, ECOVIA AND FURGOVIA - ALL THE SAME TRASH!
Worst rental company that I've ever experienced.
Firstly, the car was completely damage and dirt when they gave it to me.
Secondly, they hide extra fee's from you!
DO NEVER TRUST A COMPANY THAT HIDES FEES!
The staff simply ask you to sign an electronic device and as you're in rush or something... you sign, the staff doesn't show you any piece of paper or any electronic version prior you sign.
Then AFTER you have signed, they come to say that if you got a fine you need to pay them 60 EUROS to communicate the Police that you're the driver instead of them. What a bull***t!
STAY AWAY!
Rented a car there in July. On Nov 14th they suddenly take 60euros from my credit card, without notifying me. When I contact them, they claim I got a fine. I ask for documentation for the fine, and now they have stopped replying. Sent them several emails, no response. Reported to the bank and the police! They are scamming you, so STAY AWAY!!!
Paid 38 € for 4 days at the end it was 150 €
Paid 38 € for 4 days. They charged me extra 65€ to enter Switzerland. The car was half full when I took it. I brought it back half full. She said that in the contract it's written 5/8. Unfortunately I did not check. So they charged me another 46 € because time was to short to fill gas by myself.
This company is a total disaster. Never again.
Steer clear
Same as someone else reviewed, they will deny you your rental without a credit card. In addition, the customer Service was horrible.
