AWFUL payout policy

would give 0 stars if i could, i usually sell on vinted and have had no issues however i decided to give ebay a go recently..... i sold one item and shipped same day, the buyer recived the next day and left positive feedback. SO why is it okay for eBay to tell me 1st to wait three days for the money to show in my payout account only for when I change my bank account before it has been released the payout for them to tell me it will take yet another 48 hours for them to verify that it was me that made the account change and hold my money for even longer and then as if that wasn't enough they decided to keep on holding onto my money for longer and longer because they couldn't verify my details, please bear in mind I have had this eBay account for four years and have a fully verified email and phone number and have used the site to purchase many different items. why should i have to wait a week already for my money, i have bills to pay.... idk how much longer ill have to wait but wont be using ebay again, absolutely awful lazy and greedy company that want to hold your money to make money off you. pathetic

The new scam from eBay is called

The new scam from eBay is called : buyers protection fee. They are charging the seller those money not the buyer, and it’s on random basis. Two different items few days difference between the sale, one has big charge the other have none. EBay manager has explained that the system was adapting to the new rules…. Also major problems with banking sys.

Only giving one star because I have to

Only giving one star because I have to, otherwise it would be zero. I have been using ebay for over 15 years and in that time all I have seen is that company get worse, a lot worse. They go above and beyond privacy intrusion. All I did was to change my phone number and because of this they now are trying to force me to send my I'd such as driving licence and also a selfie so they can scan my biometric data, their words not mine. My bank doesn't even treat me this way just to change my contact details Neither does companies like amazon. I have tried numerous times to get access to my account again and all I get from them is false promises telling me that they will get me back into my account. It never happens and I have to think that all they employ these days are liar's because that's all I've had so far with all the calls I have made to them. Amazon is far better.

I’m off, disgusting company

The new payout system is ridiculous. I have to wait over 2 weeks to receive my money. Sold an item, next day the buyer got it. Left me positive feedback but yet I still have to wait another 14 plus days. Just so eBay can make money off of your money. I’m leaving eBay because I do not agree with their moral ethics. It’s disgusting.

Disappointing service with payouts

Disappointing service with payouts, sold an item then received a message saying they need to verify my account before they can release funds. I’ve had the account 19 years, nothing has changed! Also I couldn’t verify my account immediately have to wait 3-5 working days to receive micro deposits. Ebay might be free to sell but they are holding onto your money, so they can make money. It never use to be like this! Very disappointing!

Unable to return a faulty item

I am trying to return a faulty item bought in October as a Christmas present. It is faulty and the seller is not responding. All eBay will say is that it is 'out of the return period'. They are offering no help on a faulty item that their seller sent me and the online chat bot is beyond useless. Apparently 'online support is currently unavailable' - AVOID BUYING FROM EBAY!!

Abysmal Customer service

Totally useless Customer service at Ebay UK.
I changed my password, which resulted in them wanting to send me a text message to confirm who I am.
Previously they ask do you want a text message or email, but this time no choice. Problem is I don't have a Mobile so they send it to a landline that does not do text messages.
I phone Customer service and explain and he says well is there a mobile we can send it to? I say well you can use my wife's and give him the number. He spends 20 minutes or more trying to change the number and achieves nothing, then says Ok the number will be changed within three working days.
That was before Christmas, the number has not been changed.
The Abysmal response I get from Customer service when I email them is.
Phone customer service.
As far as I know it is not yet mandatory to own a mobile phone for use by Ebay or any other company for that matter. I have been a customer for over 21 years and I am supposed to be a Concierge customer, if this is the special treatment what the hell is everyone else getting?

I buy a lot on eBay

I buy a lot on eBay and have found sellers to be very good. I am careful who I purchase from, reading feedback carefully before I buy and so far have obviously been lucky. I don’t buy anymore from sellers who don’t take returns as I have found particularly with clothes that often the colour is not the same as photos show or the description says, and I don’t want to go to war with a seller who doesn’t want to have the item returned.
I have only sold two items. I had a bad experience when someone returned a cardigan they didn’t like saying it smelled. It did not smell but they sent it back screwed up and smelling. My second experience selling a barely used expensive cardigan was good. The buyer loved it and left great feedback. On that occasion I dry cleaned it first and posted it first class signed for NOT using the eBay labelling system. I also listed it as returnable.
So my experience has been mixed but overall good as a buyer.
I am about to list an expensive pair of boots so am interested to see how long the payment takes to get through to me when they sell. I was sorry to read about the poor experiences of others.

I'd like my money

The below is all lovely, but I can't see how to actually report the micro-deposits and I'd like my money

Verify your bank account to cash in on your recent sale
Now that you’ve made a sale, we need to make sure we send your payout to the right place. We’ve sent two microdeposits to your bank account that will arrive in 3-5 days. You’ll need to verify these amounts to get paid. We’ll notify you about next steps.

eBay condones misrepresentaion on its site

eBay always sides with sellers who misrepresent what they are selling. I've had several cases in the past couple of week of sellers selling stuff 'not as advertised'. Today I flagged up the misrepresentation of an item on its site and their staff have sided with the seller. When transactions are 'problem-free', it's fine, but when there are discrepancies, eBay's staff doesn't want to know or care. To anybody thinking that eBay is trustworthy and has standards, it isn't and doesn't. You have been warned.

EBAY ARE TOTALLY INEPT WITH TECHNICAL ISSUES AND JUST DON'T CARE!

I have been with eBay for nearly 20 years. I have been locked out of my eBay account for 6 days now because I am not receiving verification codes. (I am with other organisations who use this system of security) Spoken to 5 agents from Ireland, Canada, UK and Paris!!!!!!!!!!! Written to CEO, not even an acknowledgement to my email! First of all they said it was an eBay technical issue, then my fault for "activating a 2nd level of security" - whatever that means! I cannot contact buyers, sell at the most important time of the year or buy! I have spent months making my craftworks all for nothing. Perhaps the worst service I have ever experienced.

I have been buying and selling on eBay…

I have been buying and selling on eBay for years. Recently sold a laptop which has shown as delivered to the buyer.

EBay are now holding sellers fees for a up to a month for no apparent reason other than profiteering. I won’t receive the funds until 24th December despite the time being received by the buyer and them having zero issues.
