GPS selected wrong parking zone — EasyPark refused refund despite admitting the error
The EasyPark app automatically suggested zone 35003 via GPS when my actual parking location was in zone 35002. I was charged at a higher rate (50% more )as a result.
When I complained, EasyPark's own response admitted that displaying two zones simultaneously means their system identified I was in a boundary area. Yet they still refused any refund and placed full responsibility on me as the user.
The GPS warning in the app — 'Your GPS position might be uncertain' — is displayed in tiny, low-contrast grey text with no call to action. Both zones were shown at identical prices, so there was no signal to double-check. After 4 rounds of written complaints and clear evidence including a screenshot, EasyPark issued a final refusal.
I am a loyal customer with no history of disputes. The refund requested was modest — just the rate difference between two zones. EasyPark's unwillingness to resolve a clear GPS error in good faith is disappointing.
I would caution anyone parking near zone boundaries to manually verify their zone carefully — do not trust the app's GPS suggestion.
