I run a professional business and used…

I run a professional business and used Dulux hundered's of spray paints over the years to touch up and repaint my stock Dura max "was" the best the coat with thick and dried fast.
The new formula, I will say it honest and bluntly, it sucks, it is watery and takes time to dry when time is important.
I will no longer use this product.
I also used the other day 2 Spray Paint Dulux Chalky, they both failed 3/4 of spray can on a project I needed the next day I could not finish the job.
I returned to Bunning's for a refund, and price on these have gone up.
To be honest, new formula is code for cheaper ingredients, those who are in industries know this.
So after many years of support I say good bye to Dulux spray paint.

Waste of money

The colour consultant appeared in a hurry - she was in and out in a whirlwind. The main concern was that she already had a colour scheme in her hand when she arrived - polar white here and there. 1/4 strength polar white for the rest. It’s like it wasn’t tailored to our house but what she thought every house should have. Disappointed

Concrete painting disaster…

In January 2024 I used the following three Dulux products (Dulux Concrete and Paving Heavy duty Cleaner, Dulux Concrete and Paving stage 2 Primer, Dulux Heavy Duty Coating System stage 3 Finish) to prepare and paint the concrete floor of my garage.
About three months later I noticed a small concrete coloured circle appearing in the painted floor. As time went on it became bigger and bigger. I contacted Dulux and they sent a representative to come out and take a sample of the painted surface for analysis. After eight weeks the results came back. The report said that the problem was caused by poor preparation and that only one topcoat of paint had been applied, (not THREE as I had indicated to the consultants).
This is false, as I completed all the stages as per instructions on the Cans and my wife and I applied THREE final coats on the primed surface. (I am a retired University Professor so it goes without saying that I can count to THREE)
I disputed the findings and DULUX said they would give me some more paint to repaint the floor but took no responsibility for the result that had occurred. If I wanted to take the matter further, I would have to get another analysis done at my own expense and they would look at that.
On enquiring around the City of Perth at the appropriate companies I was informed that this action would involve a cost of over $1000.
In the meantime, I have been back to the large outlet where I purchased the paint and was told that they had had a lot of issues with this product. A professional painter who was standing next to me at the paint counter and overheard the conversation, agreed with the shop assistant and said, “he would never use this Dulux product because of numerous problems with it”.
I have since heard similar stories from other outlets and personnel who have been disappointed with the product.
I have recently contacted Dulux to see if they would pay for the cost of hiring a concrete grinder so I can start the process over and they flatly refused to make any contribution. Their response was the same, “you get an analysis done and we will look at it and consider what action if any needs to be taken”.
I am now left with a significant bill to clean up this absolute failure and pay to start with another product.
Being a large National company Dulux know that no individual is in a financial position to further challenge their stance and so they just wait for them to give up and move on.
So much for customer service.
This review is aimed at preventing people like me falling into the same trap and being faced with the huge expense involved when dealing with the poor outcome of this product.

Dulux used to be a good product

Dulux used to be a good product. Recently, I have had several of the Dulux paint cans fail. The base of the cans have literally developed holes, resulting in paint seeping out and causing significant damage and the loss of expensive paint. The cans were less than two years old.

Purchased their weather shield…

Purchased their weather shield (Malaysia) specifically because we thought it’s ‘durable’. Ironically, the weather shield paint has very serious discolorization after a few months. The faded paint was so bad that it started forming patches especially the outer bulding and instantly made our house look ‘cheap’. I would never ever suggest Dulux paint to anyone ever again. If I could, I would rate it 0 stars. Worst paint quality ever. DO NOT BUY. It’s a waste of money, effort and time.

Dulux Weathershield

Bought Dulux Weathershield from Bunnings... selected a colour from a swatch. Started painting a fence and the colour was the exact opposite to what I selected. Went back to Bunnings to show the variances..was told that they couldnt refund .. then called Dulux support. One person told me that the variance occurred as I hadnt prepared the fence (Acid wash and Sanding the whole fence which is huge) and the other told me that I should have obtained sample pots. Between Bunnings and Dulux this is a classic case of deflection.... no help whatsoever. Certainly wont be buying any Dulux paint from now on

Dulux Wash and Wear Superhide was…

Dulux Wash and Wear Superhide was recommended to me by Inspirations Paints in Grovedale to 2 coat cover my existing color being light cream. 44 sq house. Coverage is terrible for areas cut in. 2 coats applied plus 1 coat of undercoat still didn’t cover in areas that were cut in. About to apply 4th coat. The extra money isn’t worth it at all for a product that claims what it can’t do. I started with Haymes paint and should have stuck with it. Dulux Superhide is worth it

Dulux Concrete and paving 3 stage heavy duty coating system crushed pebble effect nightfall

At over $300 for 10 liters, this product is very expensive. Especially when you cannot achieve even 1 sqm from the claimed 4sqm coverage. This product also requires at least 5 or 6 coats to achieve any sort of decent coverage, and that was over a dark charcoal covered driveway ! Dulux are aware of this problem product, initially claimed they were not, however continue to sell the product. For an average driveway of about 60sqm, you will require at least 8 cans of product ! that's $2400 in paint alone! And once you start to realise how bad it is, there's no pulling out, you have to buy more! Dulux should be ashamed of themselves.

order number 10102

Two week ago I have ordered sample pots for checking on the newly installed kitchen cabinets which have never arrived. Then I contacted the customer service who replied that it was delivered and had even a picture of the shoe rack from the delivery driver...very funny the shoe rack had no address and there is no shoe rack in front of our door. So it seems there will be no samples and no refund either... bad, bad service..

Really happy with Dulux

I am really pleased with the support Dulux offered for my full service of my home renovations.

I worked with their Colour Consultants to pick the colour to suit the decor and then employed a Dulux Acreddited painter to complete the work.

They completely repainted the interior of my home walls, trims and feature walls. It has been 6 months and the results are great. It is honestly the only brand that I will trust.

They supported me through the hardest part of deciding on the colour to finding a great painter.

Awful quality paint

Awful quality paint. Dulux used to be great paint, I’m sure they’ve cut costs to make the books look good for their recent buy out by nippon paints, another example of executives destroying a once great business for a short term gain. I won’t be buying Dulux again

Dulux Accredited Painters , dont believe the Dulux hype

I engaged a Dulux accredited painter after utilising the Dulux Colour design service. I believed the hype on Dulux’s website for this program with words such as integrity, client satisfaction, excellence, trusted & reliable, certified by Dulux.

The quote was for a full internal paint plus a tile roof repaint of my single level home. I emptied and vacated the house for 3 weeks for the job.

There were significant issues with the roof paint and many fix ups required for the internal job. After a lack of action, I lodged a complaint with Dulux.

The painters’ response was to send me a large bill for variations for work within the original scope. The painter eventually returned for some minor roof repainting but after 5 months he withdrew from the contract, job unfinished, with derogatory emails and a taunt for me to take him to court.

The Dulux rep called to site and said roof paint was poor at places because my tiles were porous, and access issues for lower tile rows meant full coverage of tile ends was an issue. The quote included sealing of the tiles and frankly full coverage should not be an issue for a professional painter.

Dulux rep advised this was a contractual issue and nothing to do with Dulux but after pressing and providing a full log of contacts with the painter, agreed to source another Dulux painter to finish the job, at my expense.

This painter kept me waiting for 7 months and made at least 3 appointments to complete the job for which he was a no show with no notice provided for non attendance.

Again contacted the Dulux rep who eventually agreed to source a 3rd painter.

This painter completed the inside job at my expense, but would not complete the roof saying the original painter had not pressure washed the tile edges sufficiently and that mould & dirt build up was still visible. He then quoted me twice the price of the original quote to redo the roof paint.

This painter said he would fully appraise the Dulux rep, however I received no contact and the rep would not answer my calls or respond to the messages I left him.
This whole process took 15 months. Dulux and their accredited painters have failed terribly based on my experience.
