What a great idea we found them very useful and easy to use. They should be available everywhere. And I will definitely use again if they are in any other hotel I stay in! Good to know they are made from recycled plastic bottles as well!
The only reason that I dropped a star is because I did have an issue with an additional charge upon returning the Umbrella but this was sorted through their support.

I see in other reviews I'm not the only one in that case, so this looks like something to improve.
But after contacting their Customer Service, they immediately refunded me, including the original renting fee. So great customer service!!!

I contacted support once I eventually was given their email address via the hotel who said they’d refund, which did happen though it did take a week to get to me.
Nice idea but do ensure the umbrella is checked back correctly to ensure you avoid similar inconvenience.

I rented an umbrella in London. The convenience was remarkable. The DRIPDROP station was by the door and takes a few seconds to pay and pick an umbrella.
The customer service was even better - I ran into an issue where I was charged the £18 fee and the refund was promptly processed.

Absolute rip off
Absolute rip off. It said in big letters 2GBP per umbrella. I did return the umbrellas a little too late. Was charged over 40GBP for two umbrellas (one slightly broken already) on top. Never again!!!

This company is untrustworthy
This company is untrustworthy. We used the service but were charged €17 even though we returned it within 24 hours. I use my Debit card a lot and would rarely check my card in detail for all the transactions. This €17 would have easily been missed only for the off chance of looking at my bank statement. Only use this service if you make sure to check that you haven’t been overcharged. Definitely a scam based on the recurrence of a similar issue by other reviewers

PROBLEM SOLVED
I had an issue with my return which led to me being charged a penalty fee. There was a very simple to use refund form on the company website which I completed. Within 24 hours I was contacted by the company who offered a full refund and a genuine apology. This brolly service is an excellent idea and it appears that the company really does value its customers.

Unexpected €24 Charge After Returning Umbrella
I rented an umbrella in Copenhagen on December 5th for the advertised 48-hour period. The initial €2.68 payment went through, I picked up the umbrella, and then suddenly the payment failed on their side. I still returned the umbrella the same evening — less than 24 hours later — and even took a photo as proof.
Despite doing everything correctly, today (December 9th), I was charged €24.10. I’ve already left the country, and now I’m stuck dealing with emails and waiting for an explanation. This is honestly awful — why should I have to stress over this, chase support, and worry for days about unexpected charges?
After reading other reviews, it seems this is a common issue, which makes it even more disappointing.
UPD (10.12): Customer Success Associate, Florentin, responded and advised that the refund was issued and should be credited within 5 business days, hopefully, everything will be resolved soon.
UPD (13.12): I have received refund, the issue is solved.

I hired from the kiosk at the Maldron…
I hired from the kiosk at the Maldron Belfast City Centre Hotel, the £3.00 hire charge was deducted from my bank on the 13th November and the umbrella was returned later the same evening, less than 24 hours. On the 17th November an online transaction has been made from my bank for £17.00.

Rented an umbrella from the Hilton Doubletree in Glasgow.
Returned it less that 24 hours later.
I have today received an additional £18 charge? Have contacted customer services.
11/11/2025 - Update. I have now been refunded the amount of £18 and also the rental charge. Unsure what happened - maybe a software issue not recognizing the returned umbrella?
I am glad i have notification on my bank account or this would of gone unseen.
