I rent a car on doyouitaly. No confirmation email was sent, but they rushed to debit the full amount on the booking.
It took them 48 hours to confirm a failed fleet as they could not deliver on the car.
They owe me a full refund but they said i need to wait for 30 days to get a refund despite the total absence of service provided. I need to fight to get back 600 Eur.
Their client service is deplorable, i wrote them onljne and i never received any answer
They are cheaper but you will oay much more at the end.

Do not sign up with Do you Italy Rent-A-Car you will be sorry you’re did . Doyou Italy is not good? You call them ,and the phone number they gave you to call them to pick you up doesn’t work , time is up!!. You lose your money and your Rent-A-Car one star is what I gave him. I tried three different numbers to get in touch with them including the one is to call them to sent the NAVETTA TO PICK YOU UP AND ALL I WAS GETTING …road side assistance . On e other call number directed me somewhere with a speaking Spanish person that couldn’t speak very good English it’s a total disaster. They are not easy to get in touch with for pick up and again you lasted your money . 1STAR FOR DOYOU ITALY AND WHEE GO. AGENCY

It simplified the process of car hire so that I could choose what I needed. It took a day or so for confirmation with a voucher which told me where to go at the pickup and which hire company it was. For excess insurance DoYouItaly offer it at extra cost and make it clear that no additional insurance is needed by the hire company.

Deceptive filters, useless insurance, and ignored complaints
I booked a car with a "Debit card accepted" filter, but at the counter (RentalPlus), I was forced to buy a mandatory local insurance just because I had a debit card. This made the DoYouItaly Platinum Insurance completely useless. I sent a formal complaint (Booking Ref:DYI-210833241 ), but customer support is completely ignoring my emails. I demand a full refund for the useless insurance immediately. Deceptive and terrible customer service.Update: Support responded claiming that debit cards require local supplier insurance, yet DoYouItaly still charged me for their own useless Platinum Insurance during checkout. Clear mis-selling. Still waiting for a refund for the redundant insurance."

For some reasons, unexplained, i was denied the insurance cover after it was accepted and i properly paid for it. I believe this is shameful.

I made a booking with DoYouItaly months ago for an MG ZS for collection at Olbia airport. I was notified that Noleggiare was the supplier. On arrival at the Noleggiare desk they refused to take a credit card issued by a bank which does on line banking. No mention of this appears on their terms and conditions. So we gave them another card which they accepted, despite the fact that the name on the card was not an exact match for the name on the booking. They then tried to force us to take out full insurance, but we already had paid full insurance with DoYouItaly. Apparently that didn't apply as far as Noleggiare were concerned. After about an hour arguing with the desk, they said they did not have any MG ZS vehicles available and tried to convince to take an upgrade at 100 Euros per day. Our booking was for 14 days, so we refused. So they then said they were entitled to offer us something similar to an MG ZS as per the booking conditions. They offered us a Toyota Yaris Cross claiming this was an "upgrade" because it was an automatic model. If I had wanted an automatic model I would have booked one. I also tried to add my wife as an additional driver for Noleggiare's fee of 9 euros per day, 9 Euros for 14 days is 126, they wanted 315, which I rejected. I then made the mistake of accepting the Toyota without seeing it first. When we got to the collection location it was immediately obvious the car boot was so small it would not even take two suitcases. There were at least three MG ZS models visible in that part of the collection area. The person at the collection point refused to help and sent us back to the main desk. So back at the desk we asked to talk to a manager. He said the MG ZS models were reserved for other customers - I wondered what I was - and refused to change their position. It wasn't their fault that our luggage didn't fit in their car. They stated that it wasn't their fault that Noleggiare considered the Toyota to be the same class as the MG ZS. We were a party of three adults travelling with two small children, so some of the "luggage" was in fact two child seats. None of this made any difference. I wanted to cancel the booking entirely but Noleggiare said it was nothing to do with them and we would need to contact DoYouItaly. We contacted them and quick as a flash we received a communication that once we had signed the acceptance of the car, it was too late to cancel. I called my credit card company to block any charges against my card. We walked away and booked with another company. As an aside went rented an MG ZS from a company called Vitarent, who were incredibly helpful and flexible. This whole saga lasted almost three hours and was witnessed by my daughter - who is fluent in Italian - and her father in law a Sardinian resident, and they did everything they could to get us some satisfaction but they could not believe the attitude and position maintained by the Noleggiare staff and manager. All because we would not take out their additional insurance. The only positive note I can add is that the operator who attended to us at the beginning seemed embarrassed and immediately cancelled the deposit, and also to my surprise arranged for the booking to be cancelled. When I contacted my credit card company the following Monday, there were in fact credits raised against the deposit and the cost of the hire of the Toyota. Well most of it at least. Suffice to say I would seriously advise anyone considering hiring a car anywhere in Italy to avoid this lot and I certainly won't go near them again.

I accidentally booked the car under the wrong main driver's name and thought I would lose my reservation. Instead of simply rejecting my request, DoYouItaly contacted Italy Car Rent and worked to find a solution. They exceptionally approved the driver change, and I received an updated voucher. A special thank you to Yana and the Italy Car Rent team for their professionalism and outstanding customer service. This is exactly how customer support should work. Highly recommended!
